A human accounts for 0.18% of a battleship's length. I don't think I need Captain's Quarters to visualize how large any ship is in comparison to a human being.
You don't warp through stations/planets, you bend space around you. It looks like you go through, but you really don't, if you want you can read more up on it here(there are several variations to the theories of course). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive
iirc 80m [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] Run the numbers yourself though, PI fuel has been wild lately
That's pretty good, and was that 80m per week?
That's pretty good, and was that 80m per week?
I run a large tower for that price, but 90% of its mods only get activated when we are at war. Now its running 3 labs, 1 corp hangar, 1 ship maintainance array and some guns/scrams to scare people off.
That's pretty good, and was that 80m per week?
80m per month. I think it's actually double that now.
> star > intense heat and radiation dispersed in evenly arranged concentric circles > laser > intense heat and radiation focused on a single point > autocannon/railgun/blaster > massive force focused on a single point See the difference?
Intense is the operative word there though. Even if it is evenly dispersed the heat and radiation put out by a star is incredibly intense, much more so than anything a laser should be able to put out. Also the forces at work that close to a star should way worse than any railgun/blaster/autocannon. As for my comment on the 800mm autocannons my main point was that it gives a sense of just how big some of these ships really are.
Either way, you're still incredibly far from a star when you warp to it. Perhaps just close enough to get good detail but far enough away that your ship isn't affected by the intense conditions?
Anything that close to a sun would be effected heavily by the "weather" being emitted from the sun, I mean you can feel the heat we get from the sun now being so far away from it currently with a protective atmosphere helping to keep us safe, the sun is a nuclear reaction so it would be similar to having nuclear warheads constantly detonated in close proximity to the ship, it might be able to withstand that for awhile but any extended period of time near a sun would cause just about anything to melt away.
Incarna in 3 days!!
Incarna in 3 days!!
Hooray for extended extended extended downtime.
So we can sit in a rusty box and look at our ship in a different angle
And yet I say again ccp did nothing to visualize this for you, so you just see the inside of the model as you warp through it
Who cares? You're all thinking into it way more than the devs did, it is the way it is because adding ~10 seconds+ to most warps would be ass to anyone but the most spergy of types
Just play the god damn game. Please. - the EVE Online thread.
Well we play the game, and we discuss it here. Isn't that why this thread exists? What I meant to say in terms of "visualizing" is make the screen black when the camera is inside a model, is what the devs could have done at the least.
If we're talking about realism again, Ccp should make it so that the sun gets dimmer as we get farther from it. Suns don't stay the same brightness to you at 1 au as compared to 80 au, and some systems are even bigger than that. [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] Hell even at like 5 au the sun would just be a dot.
but evidently ccp arent interested in realism or we wouldnt visibly travel through planets and be able to collide with a structure at 2000m/s and not be harmed
but evidently ccp arent interested in realism
No they aren't, because EVE is not a sim. Here's the solution to all the retarded things you guys have been discussing. EVE != real physics/life/whatever
No they aren't, because EVE is not a sim. Here's the solution to all the retarded things you guys have been discussing. EVE != real physics/life/whatever
well, the market is a good sim, but that's about it.
No it's fucking not, even the more "stable" markets are nothing like real markets. [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] Christ max your ignorance knows no bounds

Eve is a game about flying spaceships and shooting spaceships stop smearing shit on eachothers spaceships
Anyone have an Omen fit?
hey max this isn't yours by any chance is it?
PVP? PVE? Are you doing missions outside Amarr space? I'll probably be able to find a fit for you.
Uh. Hrm. Derping about in PvP, where i am is no good for ratting in Amarr ships. iirc our rats are Serpantis.
Fun fact; Concord doesn't take damage from Terminus Streams. Sad face, I wanted to farm Concord so bad.
Fun fact; Concord doesn't take damage from Terminus Streams. Sad face, I wanted to farm Concord so bad.
you used to be able to kill concord and tank them but highsec was one huge pirate smartbombfest with rr etc.
Is anyone interested in doing a finals bracket for AT9? I can set up a pool and post a bracket for people to fill out. 25m per bet, winner takes all. Yes/no? *edit*
I can't find any real good fits, try this one from EVE university; Low: Heat Sink I Heat Sink I Overdrive Injector System I Overdrive Injector System I Nanofiber Internal Structure I Medium: 10MN MicroWarpdrive I Large Shield Extender I Warp Disruptor I High: Focused Medium Pulse Laser I, Multifrequency M Focused Medium Pulse Laser I, Multifrequency M Focused Medium Pulse Laser I, Multifrequency M Focused Medium Pulse Laser I, Multifrequency M Focused Medium Pulse Laser I, Multifrequency M Fit some capacitor rigs on it, from what I've read all the Omen PVP fits are either very or sort-of cap unstable, also it should only cost a couple million for the whole thing.
t1 fit? lol
