What does a system's security rating have to do with hybrids? Hybrids aren't going to magically ward away pirates, especially if you're flying a drone ship. If anything they'll just laugh at you after they've kill your drones and than kill your ship either by out ranging your blasters or sitting 500m away from your ship. [editline]24th June 2011[/editline] I thought I was bad at this game but holy fuck, please stick to a single weapon type man. :ohdear: Good luck when you get your cruiser, fit the same weapon type please.
wat [editline]24th June 2011[/editline]
I said ships that exclusively use hybrids, as in where all their damage comes from. The Dominix, Myrmidon, and Vexor are drone ships, the only time you use those guns are to get aggro so your drones don't get shot at, and even than most people use projectiles on them because they don't use capacitor. Anyway, the other seven ships are okay I guess, but still rail guns are terrible, and the range on blasters is so horrible you might as well just use auto cannons.
Not everybody is a mission runner hehe
I'm fairly certain that I'm going to sub for at least a month, does anyone have one of the 21 day trial things they'd be willing to share? I can't remember, do you get anything in return if the trial person buys a sub? I'd be happy to help anyone out. In-game name is Wedge Sotken if anyone wants to play together. I'm still pretty new, but I've played for a few months before so it's not entirely confusing to me.
None of them do, but at least projectiles (and maybe lasers) will put nice sized hole in their hulls before you go down, or escape.
You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
CCP dev blog response to all the rage basically says nothing
Shit is ridiculous.
We will gradually introduce items at other price points, definitely lower and probably higher than what‘s in the store today.
They're not even going to make any money off these microtransactions that's got everyone hating them.
I thought I was bad at this game but holy fuck, please stick to a single weapon type man. :ohdear: Good luck when you get your cruiser, fit the same weapon type please.
Yeah...I'm kinda new. Very new, actually. I thought I'd stick to a few types of weaponry for range concerns (autocannons at close, hybrids at [almost]long and particle blasters at med), but I'm guessing that's a horrible idea and I'm a giant flying joke.
Congrats on the 400m~ ISK! :buddy:
http://eve-central.com/home/quicklook.html?typeid=29668&usesystem=30000087 Das cheap:v:
Look at ship bonuses before you fit it.
Don't worry man, we all used to be horrible at the game too, just look and the ship bonuses and stick to whatever they give them to. IE Minmatar ships usually give bonuses to projectiles, Caldari ships do good with missiles, etc.
I'm Gallente, so hybrids. I've now fitted all hybrid weapons on it, four railguns for range and four blasters for close. Thanks for the heads up, guys. [editline]24th June 2011[/editline]
Join the ingame "Facepunch Chat" chat buddy
Going now.
Really not sure whether to get back into EVE now. I hear it's just a bastardized testing ground for CCP WoD MMO now, and that they're planning on ruining the game by selling ships for real money. Still I guess if I try and get something out of it now before it completely commits suicide it might be worth it. [editline]25th June 2011[/editline]
I'm Gallente, so hybrids. I've now fitted all hybrid weapons on it, four railguns for range and four blasters for close. Thanks for the heads up, guys.
I hear that Hybrids are pretty underpowered these days, but don't let that swerve you from using them. However I would suggest you fit all guns of the same type. 2 reasons: First, you're effectively halving your damage by fitting half and half, because if you are in close range, you're not going to do any damage with the rails and if you're at long range, you're not going to do any damage with the blasters. Secondly if you fit all the same type of gun, you can group them up, which is more effective that pressing F1 F2 F3 F4 etc. But yeah, if you're doing missions, switch to railguns. If you're doing PvP, switch to blasters and don't forget a MWD/AB, Scram and Web.

Is it me or do a lot of Amarr ships look kind of like Covenant ships? If I was an Amarr pilot I'd have a Truth and Reconciliation ship
Amarr ships look the most like dildos.

But god damn you test and your cyno lighting competence :argh: Sat there for an hour waiting to get through, then when finalyy we did mange to get in, the cyno was directly at the pos, so there was not enough time/space/whatever for the password to kick in, and all non-test members got stuck on the pos shield like flies, as a bomber run came in. Lost my first Arty Hurricane, she had never even gotten a shot off :smith:
everyone is helping me in the facepunch chat. Thanks guys!
Well, so much for wanting to come back to eve online...
I feel somewhat confused as to why they let this man do a PR statement; if his idea of quelling an internet fight is to attempt to be a disparaging tough guy, he really isn't qualified.
It's all a test to see who are the loyal fans, and then they'll give the remaining loyal fans some sort of kick ass ship.
Quoting CCP Hilmar's email before they start mass censorship :v:
sent by hilmar to ccp global list- (strt) We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get repetitive we instinctively crank it up a notch. That, we certainly have done this week. First of we have Incarna, an amazing technological and artistic achievement. A vision from years ago realized to a point that no one could have imaged but a few months ago. It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before, this is the pinnacle of professional achievement. For all the noise in the channel we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember. But we have done more, not only have we redefined the production quality one can apply to virtual worlds with the beautiful Incarna but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life when it comes to launching our new virtual goods currency, Aurum. Naturally, we have caught the attention of the world. Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store. This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone. Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change. We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected. All that said, I couldn’t be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before. (end)

Quoting CCP Hilmar's email before they start mass censorship :v:
"I know guys, we'll placate the players by PATRONISING THEM!"
Quoting CCP Hilmar's email before they start mass censorship :v:
It even says to stop listening to they players... after all of our loyalty, time, money, we invested so much yet they blow us off like we've never done anything for them. Fuck this...
I feel somewhat confused as to why they let this man do a PR statement; if his idea of quelling an internet fight is to attempt to be a disparaging tough guy, he really isn't qualified.
It's not a PR statement, it's a leaked e-mail.
Yeah, they just deleted the leaked e-mail, tbh I don't think I'll be resubscribing to eve next month.
This is the end of EVE, the EVE we older players all loved and held dear is sinking. CCP has turned its back on us loyal fans... I am sorry for you newer players who wont be able to experience the EVE we all loved.
