I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say.
This just sounds unbelievable.
Got my g-lorrious Maller. Can't fly it for a few more days. Have said this like six times in the past ten minutes. Regardless, I'm satisfied. Still have 8m ISK left over, expect to get more soon.
"I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. "
Is he serious? he just stated that he is after the money and results of what they do and don't give a shit about what the players have to say about it.
Fuck Hilmar! Fuck his World of Darkness Twilight faggotry MMO which none will play, and if he wants CCP to sink. Fuck him
Guys he is saying that people who speak out are a vocal minority, not that that is correct, but if it were then "looking at what our players do," makes a whole lot more sense

except that SWG is going to end in December.

I give CCP a week to pull their shit together. If it's still a clusterfuck after that, well i'm done, and i assume many of you will do the same.
Don't know if this has been posted before but here goes: http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/CCP-Games-Reviews-E159347.htm
If SW:TOR turns out to be any good, I might move on to that from EVE. I was meh on Incarna up until now, but it's become apparent that they really don't give a fuck about the game anymore. They're banking on their sparkly vampires game being a hit, and that doesn't interest me.
Since accounts don't "die" when they expire, I think my PVP and Mission alt are going to be allowed to expire and I'll keep my main active until it's due to expire in October. Hopefully shit will be sorted out by then.
I hope so, I don't want to have to go MMO searching again. If I do subscribe to another game it'll probably be RIFT. I was in the beta for that and holy hell it was sexy.

I played the trial and I didn't like it.
Rift is WoW for people who don't want others to know they are playing WoW.
I like space, and CCP has the only Space MMO out there. They've pretty much got a monopoly. I thought CCP was great but i'm quite wrong so it seems... I wish there were more good space games...
idd there aren't many space MMO's out there
There's Black Prophecy, though personally, I don't like it too much as mouse players simply dominate in the game, you've got no chance using a gamepad or joystick, the balance is poor and they have sort of like a pay2win system.
Then there's jumpgate that might turn out pretty decent, but probably won't be out for some time. There's also Perpetuum which is supposedly like eve but with mechs, (I'm currently downloading the trial to see if it's any good).

I can see his point though. The chat could be filled with people complaining all day, but if the actual silent majority doesn't care, then the majority wins. I think there's just a very vocal minority in the spotlight right now for something that probably won't make a huge difference either way. Some people are just born to be in that vocal minority, regardless of the issue. They just love to complain.
What's this? A game company that's insidious and deceiving?
INFORM THE GOD DAMN PRESS THIS IS THE END OF THE FUCKING WORLD
Pff, what ccp did is bad but people are really overreacting about it.
Death threaths on ccp employees, are they fucking insane?
This will not be the end of eve, its just different (i dont like this kind of different but thats another story).

I don't remember there being this much hate for CCP even after Dominion and the massive game-breaking lag that expansion brought. People are flat out enraged about Incarna and overpriced monocles.
This is just ridiculous, EVE Online has always been my favorite MMO and most likely will always be. Noble Exchange is just a gimmick, you don't have to purchase stuff from there if you don't want to, and the CQ is one of the best additions ever.
Good job everyone.
CCP made one big mistake. Let's quit EVE forever and shun it for life.
The buyable ships thing will never happen if anyone is even looking at the peoples reaction to this.
Calm down, fuck off, continue playing, this isn't even affecting gameplay, other than everyone making a big wuss about it.

Except for the leaked newsletter and leaked email stating otherwise?
Honestly no one cares about the 60$ monocle, the people who want to buy that, sure why not. The problem is that CCP says one thing then does the other, no matter what the community says. Lead game designer soundwave, wants to introduce non-vanity items in the NEX store, and Hilmar doesn't seem to decline this nor say this will never happen, and that's what most of the community is upset about.
Sure the majority of them are taking it too far, but that doesn't make the issue at hand less valid. On top of this Hilmar's Email stating: " I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say."
If the CEO of the game I love and spend time with is saying he wants screw the playerbase over making as much money as possible, and won't listen to the players at all. Does that not call for some concern? I don't want to invest time in a sinking boat.
I'll give CCP a month and see what happens.
so im thinking about getting a new sub for my account would anyone be willing to take me with them on missions so i could use my salvager on the ships you destroy?
" I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say."
This doesn't mean that they are going to stop listening to players. On the contrary, it means that they are going to try to filter out the vocal minority of people who are 100% against this.
There are far less people who are against this than there appear to be, so CCP want to look at what people are doing, rather than what they are saying. I'm still not happy about the store and I hope the cut it out, but with the recent talks from the devs about it, I'm feeling better about the future of EVE. Honestly, the only time I don't feel god about EVE is when watch you guys, and the guys on the EVE boards, start making things up and twisting words.

I posted a link earlier where CCP employees anonymously wrote about what it's like to work for CCP, you should have a read.

“The longer you stay the more it hurts”
Pros
The Reykjavik office is very family friendly and you’ll often find children running around the office. During lunch it is also acceptable to bring in spouses and children. If you have a family and want to spend additional time with them this could be a way.
It’s a place where anyone can get a start in the industry because turnover in departments like QA is still rather high. The way you talk matters more than your actual experience and you can take advantage of this during the interviews.
The Atlanta office is a different place and doesn’t suffer from the serious unprofessionalism as much as the Reykjavik office. The sad thing is that they too pay the price by seeing their work halted for years at a time to jump ship and bandage EVE up.
Cons
The lack of professionalism is mind blowing. Procedures that are common in other companies are not used here and considered a waste of time. There is no solid vision for EVE which leaves employees with no other option than to start work and find out what is wanted by trial and error, this is what CCP means with Agile development.
Fun game play is not a priority, promises made to investors and aesthetics are. ‘If it looks good then it is good’ is an often heard motto. CCP is committed to use technology in EVE as well as WoD and DUST, so certain features are made and used in EVE knowing they will not be fun, nor fit EVE and no one expects them to be appreciated by the playerbase. Alienating the playerbase of EVE further. Objections from employees who point this out are waved away.
CCP does not take criticism well and often ignores retrospectives. Criticism is considered to be a negative attitude and is severely frowned upon. A lot of effort goes into maintaining a good morale with a lot of internal PR. After all it’s cheaper to print posters than pay an average salary to employees.
Several years now CCP has predicated insane subscriber goals that cannot be met. Naturally this is met with scepticism by the employees but it falls on deaf ears. The result is that the company is suffering because we cannot sustain the development of EVE, DUST and WOD. EVE is not creating enough revenue which means that solutions are sought, solutions that CCP was vehemently against a few years ago.
Career progression is nonexistent unless you become friends with the right clique of people and use the right corporate buzzwords. Hard work is not something that will set you apart, most people work hard until they become so disillusioned as they realise it makes no difference and slack off.
Combine this with the below average pay (CCP pays 30% to 50% less than other companies) and you’ll often hear a lot of frustration when work is discussed outside of the office by people who have been here for some time. The longer you stay the less you start to care about the game you develope, because no one else does.
Advice to Senior Management
Recruit very senior people from the games industry and actually listen to what they say. Stop believing your own hype.
maybe give it until SW:TOR comes out. if EVE is still in the shitter then, then it's obvious where to go. i can't imagine a BioWare mmorpg being anything short of awesome

Anonymous CCP employee's posts dating back to december 2008
Honestly everything should be taken with a grain of salt, I sincerely believe that no matter how much speculation and rage, the only factor that will tell us whether CCP is taking a nosedive is time. If CCP just sticks to cosmetic MT then I'll probably stay, but as soon as they go pay2win I'm out.
I still enjoy EvE and the Nex doesn't affect the way I play. I will be sticking with EvE.
