but ccp probably knows if they actually go through with that its going to bite them in the ass and everyone will probably end up leaving so i dont understand why everyone are rioting
The only way I could support ships on the NEX is if they allow the players to design them, like they did with those ship design contests. Every few weeks (or months) they hold a contest and pick a winner, that ship gets put into the game through the NEX (would need to be balanced properly and such). Maybe even give the designer a small cut of the profits made with each sale.
That would be neat.
I don't think anyone has a problem with them selling these types of items if they keep it in check, and make sure nothing gets too advantageous. I'm concerned about whether they'll do that, because they're generally terrible with any kind of balancing changes and the recent emails have shown more "Ignore Players, aquire currency" attitude than I'm comfortable with.
The similar attitude of opening up the game to a larger audience while disregarding the current subscriber base is the same motion that crippled SWG, and I'd hate for the game to take that path.
i wonder if getting into the ammunition business would be a good idea now seeing as how much ammo is spent shooting at the monument
when people buy ammo from a station doesn't it autobuy the cheapest one? what if i undercut everyone by like 0.1 isk
then someone undercuts you 0.01 isk

welcome to jita 101
I hope that was facetious.
Is it good to hate on miners because they mine the minerals that go into making your ships, modules and ammo? Or are those things no longer necessary?
Even this JPG raped picture looks nice. I love the game if you ignore what everyone is protesting about.

Miners are not the only ones injecting minerals into the market.
Must, reactivate account to see protests on Jita.
Unless the people who canceled their subs are logging in to protest, then it's not really hypocrisy. CCP doesn't refund canceled subs, so they're making the most of it until their time is up.
To clarify, they could be joining the mass protests that have been going on in all the market hubs.
That would be a whole other story. Speaking of the protest, how's the monument in Jita holding up?
Some smart fellows (Liberty Eternal mostly) are directing traffic to luminaire with a "5b isk bounty" on the caldari titan in system. Protests are starting to collapse.
[editline]25th June 2011[/editline]
The titan is killable, by the way! The monument isn't.

I tried the EVE trail on steam about a year ago and stopped playing after 3 days and uninstalled it. Now i want to try it again, will it let me?
I'm watching the protests right now on a trial account I just made. I've never lagged so bad in eve before...
Oh, and Carbon lags like a bitch for me.
Is it good to hate on miners because they mine the minerals that go into making your ships, modules and ammo? Or are those things no longer necessary?
Mission reprocess and Drone poop actually supply a huge chunk of the mineral influx, so small-scale miners, especially ones who grind out veldspar+etc-low-end's are not exactly a huge factor. Not to mention that your minerals are worth nothing unless someone has isk that they made from a mission to buy them with.
Miners are worthless without people to pay for ships and lose them. Pilots are worthless without ships to fly. Such is life.

Also, I found an excellent summary of current grievances on eveo:
Dear CCP,
The following is a distinct break-down of the issues at hand:

Issue 1: Removal of the "Hanger View"
Why all the "Rage"?:
Not everyone can run or wants to run CQ.
Many were/are extremely happy with the old Hanger view and "Ship spinning".
Most requested feature of CQ testing, ignored by CCP.
Community Request: Return the hanger view and have an "Exit to CQ/WiS" button.

Issue 2: NeX Prices
Why all the "Rage"?:
Not everyone can access this new content.
MicroTransactions not MegaTransactions.
Makes EvE the laughing stock of MMO's.
Players feel they are being leached.
Additional new currancy
Affect on PLEX prices
Bypassed the CSM.
Community Request: Divide all the prices by at least 10. They will still be expensive and "Exclusive" but more accessible and less laughable.
Issue 3: MT & Fearless
Why all the "Rage"?:
Suggests MT will be added to all areas of the EvE.
CCP & CSM agreed Vanity items only.
MicroTransactions not MegaTransactions.
Ignored the CSM.
Community Request: Repeat your promise to keep MT & Nex as Vanity only in EvE Online. Do as you please with WoD & DUST.
Issue 4: CCP Zulu's Blog
Why all the "Rage"?:
It is insulting and de-grading.
"smooth and successful expansions, not to mention absolutely gorgeous": 4.5 hours overdue deployment, 2+ threadnoughts & 100's of accounts unsubbed, ugly & slow. Anyone? Srsly?
Comparing pixels to RL is MMO suicide (see "SWG NGE" in Google)
"I hope I‘ve addressed your concerns" - No, not a single one of them. (Hense this thread as the message is clearly being lost).
The "F**K You" message that is sends to players.
Ignored the CSM.
Community Request: Do NOT insult your customers like this ever again. Please speak clearly. Call spades spades. Answer our questions. Address our issues. But not like this.
Issue 5: Captains Quarters
Why all the "Rage"?:
Not "optional".
Not finished.
Over heating video-cards.
Avatars look like they have been beaten with baseball bats.
"Shown the door" when it is turned off (This seriously isn't funny).
Broken, Ugly & Slow.
Mountains of player feedback in the testing forum ignored.
Ignored the CSM.
Community Request: Release finished expansions, do it late if nessesary. The last few expansions (bar this one) have been "good", and Team BFF and 1000's paper cuts was really making a difference to the players. Continue like that, not like this.
Issue 6: Broken & Stealth Changed functionality
Why all the "Rage"?:
Key mechanics (probing) were changed dramatically without warning.
Boosters & Implants were severely broken.
Show info windows scroll-bars didn't work.
Drones, missiles & probes werent getting any bonuses.
Broken patches
Dead Mac clients
Community Request: Please don't return to the days of the expansion no-one mentions because it broke everything. Stop announcing your expansions 4 weeks in advanced and then cramming to get it done. Give us 2 days notice, TELL US what's changing and get it right instead.
Issue 7: CCP Communication
Why all the "Rage"?:
Lack Of.
Insulting to players.
Un-controlled.
Community Request: *<dismay>* I honestly don't know what to put here as it surely
Issue 8: Hilmar's Email
Why all the "Rage"?:
"_very predictable feedback_" - Srsly?
Insulting to players.
"where we look at what our players do and less of what they say" - SRSLY?
"It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before" - SERIOUSLY?
Community Request: *<dismay>* ..........
The EvE community is a passionate one (as we've all seen) and we are so because we LOVE this GREAT and AMAZING game. Until this week we also loved CCP for bringing it to life.
There is no-one moaning about the new super-sick Turrets, or the AWESOME new entry screen (the one with the maller). Why? Because they are GOOD they are just what EvE is about and that the players want.
The "Rage" is because the rest of the features could have been awesome too, but aren't. Not because they are fendamentally flawed (well, the NeX pricing is but we will leave that for now) but because they aren't immersive, too intrusive, too buggy and rushed.
Now, the community would like to know what CCP thinks about the these issues and what it intends to do about them (if anything).
Kind Regards
Ms Freak

okay so im gonna give a friend of mine a 21 day trial today if he subs right after he gets it will he still get the 21 days from the trial?
so he only needs to get the sub ontop of the trial he does not have to get a game cd key or anything?
Right.
[editline]25th June 2011[/editline]
He just needs to subscribe.

I wouldn't call that a great summery. Rather pedantic and twatty.
I think CCP were pretty spot on with
"where we look at what our players do and less of what they say"
This is pretty cool. I was just doing the 5 starter tutorial arcs because I'd never done them all before and wanted to try something other than standard mission running. I just completed the exploration one which I've always been interested in, but never got into. Anyway I completed it, I liked it because it wasn't completely boring. I jumped a few systems and just wasted 40 minutes scanning down 3 wormholes. Was hoping for something else, but at least now I know how easy it is to get to wormhole space.
Not all wormholes lead to w-space. Some just take you to other high sec systems, or even already known null/low.
Even still they're useless to me.
[editline]26th June 2011[/editline]
Finally found something that wasn't a wormhole. My first Radar site, yay. Now I just need to train hacking.
Gagged by CCP for 24 hours, lol.
Crazy people sacrificing titans, why you not give me isk instead.

I didn't honestly know the titan in Luminaire was visible.
