But you're in a station. It shouldn't be unfitting into the cargo bay anyway.

Yeah, when they removed the ship change timer, they introduced a bug where the ship no longer uses your fitting skills, so modules will get offlined if they don't fit the default grid/cpu. Not surprising that the only good change Incarna has brought so far introduced a huge bug.

Looking forwards to reactivating on friday with a friend. I am such a noob on it but apparently He can do missions and I go as a scavenger? All i remember was scanning. Lots and lots of scanning.

If you have a friend doing missions, you don't need to do any scanning. Just join his fleet and you can warp right to him. If you wanted to salvage on your own, you would need combat probes to scan ships down.
