It is the single best achievement of my life, that 30 seconds I needed to find the mails on eve kill.
Thank you all who gave help. Decided the first step would be to just join a corp and see where it leads from there.
Joining a corp is a must in EVE, playing alone will get very boring very fast. It would be a good idea to find something you're interested in before joining a corp though so you can find a corp that does what you want to do.

Well I blur my screenshots that have a HUD on it. Because I respect the privacy my alliance members may like to have. And private chat channels. I leave hostiles and my name un-blurred.

Alright, will get on EVE after work (so at like 5PM our time).
So my corp is recruiting. If any of you are new to the game contact Khaine Beralt ingame. I don't normally enjoy the company of new players but we're having a recruiting push. Pretty much everyone in the corp [I]other than myself[/I] is mainly PvE. We have some miners, but they're all our (not my) alts and we generally end up hating them come wartime. We have weekly highly uneventful roams where I FC.
A couple more experienced players would be nice. Alts/spies will be raped.

It was hard to distinguish between turret types. As a result, we will be reverting the change so that turret icons use the original custom drawn icons, rather than 3d renders of the turrets themselves. You will still be able to get the 3d preview of the turret, to celebrate their uberness while reading their stats.
Third, we‘ve made a number of improvements on the skin shader and on shading within the Captain‘s Quarters in general.:
Fixed the incorrect specular behavior
Fixed shader texture gamma issues
Implemented a new specular glossiness model
The specular reflection is tinted by the color of the light
Added diffuse and specular fresnel
Added specular light from indirect light (spherical harmonics)
Calibrated the BRDF presets to the ones in character creator
