So it would be good for illegitimate cargoes but the fact it's not scannable would also promote it as a target?
No because the unscannable part will also never ever drop if the ship is killed.
No because the unscannable part will also never ever drop if the ship is killed.
I realised that, but later thought that such a thing could result in blackmailing the pilot. Whether that would ever happen I don't know.
I realised that, but later thought that such a thing could result in blackmailing the pilot. Whether that would ever happen I don't know.
Blackmailing? As in, "Give me isk or I show everyone these pics of you banging a fat chick!" Or ransoming, as in "Give me isk or I destroy your ship!" This one would only happen in low/nullsec, in which case you should not be flying an Orca anyway. In highsec, anyone who wants your cargo would have to suicide gank your ship to get it, and something like an Orca needs many battleships to kill. And then you have the aforementioned problem of anything in the corp hangar and ship maintenance array not dropping, so even if you told people what was in there, they couldn't get it.
To anyone who doubts the existance of botting: Every single one of these tengus killed by the awox crew, minus one or two, are the exact same fits. Every single one is in a russian or russian pet alliance. https://www.pandemic-legion.com/killboard/index.php?&stype=strategic_cruiser
After getting my first freighter: 1st jump: Oh this is so awesome. 2nd jump: Look at the way the hull shines in the starlight! 3rd jump: Wow that was a long warp. 12th jump: KILL ME PLEASE.
Jump Bridges. 24 jumps in one click. :quagmire:
Jump Bridges. 24 jumps in one click. :quagmire:
Try planting one in hisec.
Try planting one in hisec.
Aware of that, but still. JB's are great.
Aware of that, but still. JB's are great.
I remember a certain CSM meeting last winter/spring where they asked for them to be canned for good.
And then they dropped the limit to one per system.
Apologies to Veni. My net dropped out. Not to mention I've got work in the morning. We can salvage tomorrow. And don't worry, I always pay back my debts so let me know how much I owe you please.
And then they dropped the limit to one per system.
Which was an excellent fix. It still allowed 0.0 alliances to have a mobility improving network, without making them completely immune to hostile contact by simply chaining pos to pos to pos. Now you can hop from place to place, but you can't just go derping around nullsec without any kind of intel. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline] https://www.pandemic-legion.com/killboard/view_kill.php?id=447262 zonk :D

Well that's a nice way to put down a number.
What skills do you guys recommend before buying a Raven for PvE(obv)? I am currently training Shield Operation to V(10 hours left), then Shield Management to IV, and then to V. I am currently flying a drake for missions, but want to do missions faster then I am doing now(and doing harder ones), hopefully sniping/using cruise missiles to long range rats. I can't unfortunately yet use T2 Heavy Launchers, or T2 Cruise Launchers. So should I get a Raven as fast as possible, or wait until I get better skills? If so, which skills should I am for, except shield skills? I already got Engineering to V, as well as Electronics. I can fly logistic ships so I also got Long Range Targeting to V as well as Targeting Analysis. Should I train the 2 missile skills that results in longer range(the one that increases flight length, and the other one that increases flight speed)?

Getting all the skills related to the Raven to level 4 would be best. For starters, each of these needs to be at least to level 4: Tactical Shield Manipulation Shield Operation Shield Management Shield Upgrades Shield Compensation Energy Systems Operation Energy Management With those at 4, you should be able to fit a decent enough tank that you can start using a Raven in missions. Next you'll want to increase your dps to complete missions faster, so train Caldari Battleship to 4 and all missile skills related to cruise launchers to 4 (rate of fire, damage, explosion radius, range, etc all needs to be to 4). Don't try and train things to level 5 one at a time, get everything you need to 4 first and then worry about maxing the most important ones out (those that increase dps are highest priority). Pro tip: the Caldari Navy cruise launchers produce better dps than max skill T2 cruise launchers (using standard ammo on both), so I wouldn't even worry about cruise missiles to 5 unless you're serious about that weapon system and are willing to use T2 ammo.

Tactical Shield Manipulation is already at lvl 4, Shield Upgrades are at lvl 4, Energy Management is at lvl 4, Energy System Operation was only at lvl 3, so 20h to get that to lvl 4. I don't got the Shield Compensation skill. But I think I'll need it. So priority is tank, then DPS. Okey, makes sense. I will probably need the skills later anyway, especially the missile skills I think. But thanks for the help/tips. It cleared up a lot for me.
Raven is generally pretty crappy DPS for PVE. Unless you're fitting torp's don't worry too much about how much DPS you get because it will never be that great anyways. It's all about the passive "Look at me herp while I derp and lob cruise missiles and tank everything". In terms of PVE it's not that big of a deal if you hop into a BS before you're really ready to fly it because as long as you can put a decent fit it will work. It's not like PVP where you need to have the necessary skills to fly the ship before you hop into it to gain that advantage.
Tengu PVE Master Race.
Tengu PVE Master Race.
Depends on what kind of PVE. The Tengu is great for plexes and wormholes, but it's not as good for missions (low dps to rats that aren't weak to kinetic).
How important is drone skills if you are just going to have them as an extra DPS thing, not fly drone-based ships?
Get your drones skill to 4, than get all your ship's weapon skills to 5. Unless you get 4 or 5 in every drone skill you aren't going to be killing anything bigger than a cruiser with your drones, unless you're in a drone ship.
All I have right now is Drones at IV and Scout Drone Operation at III. :v:
All I have right now is Drones at IV and Scout Drone Operation at IIV. :v:
Ugh. It's 'III', not 'IIV'.
How important is drone skills if you are just going to have them as an extra DPS thing, not fly drone-based ships?
Generally you'll want to have T2 drones if you're running missions. Until you're in a pimped out ship with a huge tank and/or dps, you may need to warp out from time to time on certain missions. T2 light drones can be the difference between getting out safely or losing your ship because your T1 lights can't kill the rat that has you scrambled.
Ugh. It's 'III', not 'IIV'.
Rating myself dumb. What faction of drones do you recommend for light ones?
Sounds reasonable. What faction of drones do you recommend for light ones?
Hobgoblins (Gallente) are the best all-around, since they do the highest dps and most rats don't have high thermal resist.

Since I'm not subbed at the moment, someone tell me what the FOTM ship everyone's flying these days. [editline]30th September 2011[/editline] Also just realized that my post count has been changed for some reason. :smith:
