now, I want to go and do more exploring and boss killing in these kind of ruins, but I'm worried about ruining quests later on in the game where I might have to go to a place where I've already been - so I'll have to stop for a while
and did I mention? I'm level 2 and I still managed to kill her :smug:

Wouldnt really be possible unless you're at a very low difficulty level or using uber-magic, she regenerates health.
Though, umbra is a great way to practice your bow skills if you take a lot of arrows and a lot of spare bows since you can quite literally shoot her 200 times and not kill her.

33% difficulty, I had an Elven Longsword/Shield combo along with my Raiment of Valor, so I was kinda buffed. It wasn't really worth it, the only thing I can use is the Sword and I've used about 500 coins worth of health potions :v:

That quest doesn't matter, Umbra's sword is far to valuable to be given away.

I don't really get how the soul stealing works. I need black soul gems to capture the souls, correct? I make black soul gems with grand soul gems, if I remember correctly, but then once I've captured the soul what use is it to me?

I'm going to launch it and head straight to the nearest tavern or inn, pick up some hot elf chicks and take them into my bedroom... from there we'll probably have some ale, discuss the weather and then go to sleep.

Souls can be captured into any gem that's equal to the soul or greater.
Like, you can put petty souls in a Petty Soul Gem, but you can't put a greater soul in a Petty Soul Gem.
Souls will automatically go into the lowest gem available that they fit in.
You use the gem to recharge your enchanted weapon.

Once you've joined the Mages guild and get to the arcane university, you can enchant your weapons. You can also use those filled soul gems to restore a weapons enchantment charge.
