So to keep my self quiet while waiting for Skyrim I've gone through and played like 50+ Hours of Oblivion and another 50+ Hours of FO:NV. What now?
Just play another 558 hours on both 12 hours a day and you're there!
I hope there's a dragon shout for freezing time (I know about the slowing time one, maybe it could be used for this.) that would allow you to sneak past enemy's.
I hope there's a dragon shout for freezing time (I know about the slowing time one, maybe it could be used for this.) that would allow you to sneak past enemy's.
As you know, the more words you say, the more powerful it will be. So it is very possible that if you shout all 3 words you will stop time.
So I'm thinking, the weaker dragons probably speak less of their language so are they illiterate? Uneducated dragon hicks?
So I'm thinking, the weaker dragons probably speak less of their language so are they illiterate? Uneducated dragon hicks?
Too young to know all the cool shouts?
I'm not a mage, so I won't be enchanting my own weapons. However, I thought that soul gems already recharged your weapons?
It should be noted that only creatures can go into soul gems. Common creatures like wolves will tend to be "lesser" and as such go into the lower end soul gems when you kill them with Soul Trap activated. Greater creatures like Daedroth or Ogrim will tend to go into greater soul gems. Human souls cannot be captured at all, except by Black Soul Gems, which are "forbidden", in the same sense that skooma is forbidden. They are usually hard to find, though you run into some during the mages guild main quest. I think Black Soul Gems, other than Azura's Star (which is a special reusable soul-gem), provide the best bonuses. Though I could be wrong. You don't really need high level soul gems though unless you plan on enchanting your own weapons, as lesser soul gems work just fine for stuff like weapon enhanting recharging. I think the Alyied stones at the center of alyied dungions also recharge enchanted weapons. I almost wish it was like Morrowind, how only the top level souls could grant you constant effect enchantments. It made it so there was a real difference between top level enchanting (being able to do powerful constant effect enchantments) and lower end enchanting (doing fun trinket stuff like an amulet that shoots a fireball). In oblivion, everything is constant effect, and just comes off as weak to me.
Too young to know all the cool shouts?
Varied age implies that they would be coming from somewhere else, or the same ones would have come back or something. If there's unlimited dragons I don't know how that would work. Plus from what I've seen most of the shouts are simple words that are sorta important to know, like sun
I really hope the quests in Skyrim are written better than those in Oblivion. I sniped Mankar Camoran from a ledge in that cave you're supposed to get the Mysterium Xarxes from, but all I managed to do is knock him unconscious.
Whoa, I'm sorry, werewolves?
Seriously how could they not have werewolves, its the fucking home of them. Werewolves were introduced in Morrowind from the Bloodmoon expansion which takes place in a nordic colony off of morrowind, close to Skyrim. It would be a very strange and obvious omission if they didn't have werewolves in Skyrim, seeing as they (generally) originated from there. Its as common in Nordic lore as Nords themselves are. And if they fucking make it DLC I will rip off their faces. What a douche way to cash in!
And if they fucking make it DLC I will rip off their faces. What a douche way to cash in!
They did say there would only be full-blown expansion packs, not small DLCs like in FO3 and NV. So even if the werewolves were DLC, it would be worth the money if you add in everything else you get. Although if Skyrim IS the home of Werewolves, as you say, I can't imagine them leaving it out.
I sure hope Werewolves aren't one of the expansions, hopefully those are base-game. They already did a werewolf expansion for morrowind, I want something new. My "dream expansions" would be a High Rock questline, and a questline in Coldharbour (or some other "evil" daedric lord's domain)
That just means he's impossible to kill because killing him would screw up quest progression or another quest.
I can think of several ways that you could kill him and still progress the quest instead of "lol I'm essential hurf durf oh god i'm fucking retarded"
I can think of several ways that you could kill him and still progress the quest instead of "lol I'm essential hurf durf oh god i'm fucking retarded"
But easily killing him and taking the Amulet of Kings would pretty much cut out all the tension from the main plot. "Assassins kill emperor, some douche kills the ringleader, order is restored soon thereafter". Not much of a main quest, is it? And that's coming from someone who doesn't think the real main quest was much to begin with.
I can think of several ways that you could kill him and still progress the quest instead of "lol I'm essential hurf durf oh god i'm fucking retarded"
I don't know about this guy specifically, but in general they could just make it so you can't do the quest, or if it's a bigger quest maybe make it so before he died he wrote a letter with all of the quest information, maybe he was going to send it to someone else... Just an idea

Think about it; you kill the guy, try to search his body, but it disappears completely after you touch it and then you hear a disembodied voice say something along the lines of "lol nice try but you can't kill me that easily"
Oh, and it would be neat if Skyrim had a multiplayer mode. Now hear me out before you knock it. An arena, in which you can pit yourself against other Skyrim players. I think it would work perfect. Would be just like the SP arena in Oblivion, except instead of AI, other players. Also, maybe an option to dual yourself. Kinda like the clone in the Shivering Isles quest. Just for shits and giggles.

I know that in this idea, custom/modified items would be banned, but some fucking douchebag is going to come along, and find a way past it, ruining everyone's experience as the rumor spreads around about 'HOW TO BYPASS SKYRIM ARENA LIMITS'
You forgot when Bethesda patches it, someone finds another glitch and the story repeats.

Anyone have any advice for me? I rolled an Altmer Nightblade, and I seem incredibly underpowered for my level. Any suggestions as to why that may be? (Other than the 100% weakness to fire, electricity, frost, and magic of any sort)
So are thiefs/assassins going to have dragon whispers or something?
Eat a block of cheese and breath into peoples faces. Paralysis for 30 minutes.
I dont know about PVP, but 2-4 player coop would have been cool. Not likely to happen for some time... hell, the oblivion one barely works and its been 4 years. The games that modern RPGs are based off of were usually "party" or "group" games, would sort of bring back that spirit. Unless of course you dont have friends or have issues cooperating with people :colbert: Being able to start a little "party" and create a new game with new characters, or import existing character into new games would be cool, and then have one "party-master" who's computer handles the savegames and runs the listen server. New Tactic: Sneak behind unaware bandit and align yourself so you are facing a second bandit. Dragon-Shout first bandit across the room as a human/dunmer/orc projectile into the other one.
New Tactic: Dragon-shout [del]a bandit[/del] a group of bandits off of a tall mountainside. Make a 20 minute journey back to the bottom to scrape the loot off of the ground Dragon shouts will be my new "dark messiah kicking." adventures of sir shouts-a-lot deathboom in the land of conspicuously placed mountainsides

i never understood why they made the oblivion pre-made classes so shitty. the acrobat one was a laff

I think this will be the first Elder scrolls game I ever start out as a nord skirmisher. Next playthrough will be my regular argonian assassin who dedicates his life to finding easter eggs and bugs.
