I'm actually a Bard and I don't feel incredibly underpowered, at the same time I wouldn't mind being more powerful though.
I'm an Imperial, Thief Sign, Bard class.
Damn it's gonna be hard to decide at the start what race and class etc.
There aren't any classes.
There aren't any classes.
I mean like what stuff to focus on such as magic or swords etc.

Well... This is actually my first time seriously playing an Elder Scrolls game. I played around with Morrowind, but never really did anything, and I've done the same with Oblivion. I was actually trying to go about it the "right" way this time, but I'm finding it almost impossible due to being completely destroyed every time I get into a fight.
It should be noted that only creatures can go into soul gems. Common creatures like wolves will tend to be "lesser" and as such go into the lower end soul gems when you kill them with Soul Trap activated.
Greater creatures like Daedroth or Ogrim will tend to go into greater soul gems.
Human souls cannot be captured at all, except by Black Soul Gems, which are "forbidden", in the same sense that skooma is forbidden. They are usually hard to find, though you run into some during the mages guild main quest. I think Black Soul Gems, other than Azura's Star (which is a special reusable soul-gem), provide the best bonuses. Though I could be wrong.
You don't really need high level soul gems though unless you plan on enchanting your own weapons, as lesser soul gems work just fine for stuff like weapon enhanting recharging. I think the Alyied stones at the center of alyied dungions also recharge enchanted weapons.
I almost wish it was like Morrowind, how only the top level souls could grant you constant effect enchantments. It made it so there was a real difference between top level enchanting (being able to do powerful constant effect enchantments) and lower end enchanting (doing fun trinket stuff like an amulet that shoots a fireball). In oblivion, everything is constant effect, and just comes off as weak to me.
To be honest, I actually hate "cast on use" stuff in Morrowind, I never see much point in it. Then again, my character is a ranged glass cannon, either I get an arrow in your head before you see me or I get one-hit killed by the powerful enemies. That Bound Long Bow spell is overpowered as heck but I love it.
Anyway, being a vampire is great! I went back to the Dwemer ruin you visit for the MQ and punched everyone there until I could drink their blood (I think that was added in Vampire Embrace) then let them go, crouched right in front of them and walked away, they were too blind to see me slink away. There was an Imperial lady in one room, I locked us in then started punching her into submission and healing her. Can't be a pleasant feeling having 3/4 of your blood drained then replenished then drained several times. I felt sorry for her so I let her go eventually. I bet they'll be telling the story of how a vampire attacked their little smuggling operation then dissapeared.
Experimenting with become a werewolf too, but I'm not sure how the moon-phase-based transformations are meant to work in the mod I downloaded. Right now I just got the untransformed bonuses Lycanthropy brings which now means I can jump over most buildings. Last time I tried a vampire-werewolf I was level 1 and got both diseases at the same time and died instantly.
Also sorry again Aerkhan.

Took some screenshots of my character pre-vampirism and post-vampirism.
I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I plan on finally beating Morrowind and replaying Oblivion before Skyrim comes out, but I don't want to miss out on certain aspects of the games.
My first Oblivion playthrough I completely missed the A Brush with Death quest, but I found it on my second playthrough and it has become one of my favorites.
So what quests, places or items in Morrowind and Oblivion that I might miss if I stuck to the main story should I make an effort to go to, find or do?
Or at least, what are your favorite quests in both games?
Just explore constantly, that's how I bump into the fun stuff.
Just imagine the mods for this.

I've been reading up on some of the lore on the UESP Wiki. There's something I'm not entirely clear on, though. Is Thu'um different from the Shouts? It seems to me that all (and only) Nords could use Thu'um to some extent, but only the most powerful were Tongues. Is the Dragonborn (not necessarily being Nord) using this power?
Well wouldn't it get awkward if only one race could use a major feature of the game?
Well wouldn't it get awkward if only one race could use a major feature of the game?
That's why I'm asking. The powers seem to have similar effects, but I can't tell if Dragon Shouts are Thu'um or not. It wouldn't make sense to learn a different power from the Greybeards, who are masters of Thu'um if the powers wasn't closely related. But Thu'um is an exclusively Nordic ability.
Am I missing something?
I'd love a "Sparring" spell that would just create a copy of me to train with. Or, well, a spell wouldn't fit too much, but say, A magic shrine in the arena that could do that, just to make it more lore-ish.
I'm gonna make skyrim a waifu simulator and there is nothing that is gonna stop me
don't stop me now is manually playing in your head now

That's what you're thinking, what 90% of the nexus is thinking is 'How attractive can I get my anime wife to be ingame?".
Sometimes, with the release date nude skins, it makes me wonder if these people even play the game vanilla for the first time, or let alone a few hours, or they just download as many nude/furry/sex/tentacle/rape/pregnancy armors/dragondick/sluttychild mods they can before they actually play the game.
You know how when you marry someone in real life they wind up taking half your money?
Well I would think if you marry someone from the DB, they wind up taking half of the blood in your body while you are asleep.
No thanks.
Not sure who I'm going to marry, can you marry multiple people?

Are there Werewolves in Skyrim?
Can you become one?
Is becoming a vampire, or any vampires at all, confirmed in Skyrim?
I would think the Vampire thing would have been, but I don't recall seeing it.
I think you can become a werewolf in Skyrim yes.

I dont think they actually play the game itself, probably just download stupid mods then take screenshots.

Lob a throwing knife at someone, then use the force shockwave (FUS RO DAA) shout while the knife is still in mid-air. Hits targets like a damned rail-gun.
He could still be alive in the same way his kids are after you kill them. Think about it; you kill the guy, try to search his body, but it disappears completely after you touch it and then you hear a disembodied voice say something along the lines of "lol nice try but you can't kill me that easily"
Or have Patrick Stewart himself appear behind you, slap you on the back of the head, and toss Cameron's corpse into the portal.

It was such a badass moment when I heard that theme kick in on that teaser for the first time.
I don't know about you guys, but I hope they make an expansion pack like The Shivering Isles. God, that was brilliant.

The Thu'um and dragon shouts are similar, but the Thu'um takes more skill. Dragon shouts are exclusive to a dragonborn.
Although Todd Howard has said that the dragonborn is using the Thu'um in interviews. Probably a mix up.
