spears were in morrowind and suddenly disappeared from the series after that
(and that is kind of confusing, plus they were cool.)
wasn't there a halberd in one of the screenshots?
morrowind is the only game that had spears
I think bethesda just lost a prepurchase
I think Bethesda won't care on one person missing out on a great game.
I think that spellcrafting was already confirmed to be out, unfortunately.
No i it will be remade and balanced
How do we go 200 years with no technological advancements?
You'd think with the combined efforts of magic and science, they'd create something decent.
Once a great wizard cast a curse upon the land of Tamriel, dooming every single child into looking like their face was made of potato. For 200 years, Tamriels greatest scientists and magicians have been busy trying to find a cure for the horrible disease. After the uprising of the dragons in 4E 200 they finally found a cure.
Probably everyones was disposing of all the watermelons mischiveous heroes summoned.
I do hope they also add more realms from the daedra gods.

Nah man they totally will, for sure
All these screenshots...
Can't wait to create my fat short midget and take some awesome screenshots with him.
It almost seems like man invented spears and crossbows in the land of Morrowind but such weapons never left the province, and since Morrowind is now mostly a barren wasteland the art of crafting such weapons is lost. But I don't know just a thought in my head.
So apparently, from what I could picture by listening to the podcast, spells will be "crafted" by combining elements and styles?
Sound interesting, altho nothing will be as satisfying as creating a spell the lit you on fire and grant you light, so you name it Human Torch
Just beat Battlespire
This means I've beaten the main quest of every TES game that came out

Individuals capable of building huge structures like the Imperal City itself and create powerful spells couldn't come up with the idea of a "long stick with pointy rock on end"?
But then again, no matter how grand and brave your deeds were, how shiny your armor and arms were and how many times you saved their shit from being slapped, the best greeting they could come up with was "What you want".
Yeah, sound right to me
Fuck I can't wait another 3 months for this.

For the first time ever, I'm actually going to try making a badass-looking character. Fucking everytime I make one in a game like Oblivion with all those options I can't seem to make one that doesn't look ugly.
[editline]13th August 2011[/editline]
Anyone already decided which race they gonna play first? I chose Nords because I always started with 'em first.

Orcs or Khajits since they look stunning in Skyrim. Unlike Oblivion.
oh man oh god oh man I just woke up and there's all of this and I need to go and eat but I'm typing this out now and oh what do
dual axe wielding Nord? white Redguard (I'm not being racist I just don't like black people [sp]that was racist wasn't it[/sp]) with a sword and a shield? maybe I should stick to that dagger swiping Argonian? I swear to god at least the first 8 hours of me playing will be creating new characters trying to decide what I like

I hate black people because they're racist. Just like asians.

Argonians. That's what I've played in Oblivion and Morrowind the first times, so why not in Skyrim? Besides, they look too cool now not to play them.
Why is November so bloody far away?

And I thought I'd only use 3 hours? Oh my!
I'm curious if NPCs and parts of the game will have different reactions based on the race you play. I want to be an Argonian and have Dark Elves hate me, or be a Dark Elf and have Argonians act like I'm a piece of trash. Playing an Imperial would also be interesting since the Empire has taken quite a fall over these 200 years.
And I thought I'd only use 3 hours? Oh my!
3 hours perfecting my first character, which will probably end up being a custom-class Redguard. Then the other 5 hours spent after the tutorial levels making all kinds of new shit and not being able to make up my mind.
I think i have always played an argonian, or a wood elf.
I should really read up on Lore, but I don't know where to do so. Would playing Morrowind help? I know this sounds dumb but I don't think I'd be able to play anything older than Morrowind simply because of the way it looks.

You can go to UESP which is a TES wiki for all the games and contains huge chunks of the TES universe lore. There might be other wikis out there though I'm not sure how good they are compared to UESP (Unofficial Elder Scrolls Page)
So have they added in blocking with single handed weapons? Or is it just totally out of the game? Or am I mistaken.

oh man this isn't helping
"daedra" okay this is cool
"daedric princes" the fuck I thought the daedra were bad guys
"azura" the fuck is this azura is a good guy afaik and why is she a daedric prince when she's a chick
[editline]13th August 2011[/editline]
elder scrolls lore needs something like that "wow lore in less than 1000 words" thing
daedra
The Daedric princes aren't bound to be specifically 'good' or 'evil'.
They've all god their own agenda and reasons for doing things.
Some can be good ( like Azura ).
Or some can be complete douches ( Mehrunes Dagon ).
Neither do they HAVE genders, if I recall correctly. They choose the form they want or something
[editline]13th August 2011[/editline]
Therefore they are all called princes

Your mind will blow when you realize that the only condition you need to get "daedra/daedroth" stamped on you is that you must be native to a plane of Oblivion. (I don't think [sp]reuniting Sheogorath and Jyggalag counts[/sp])
:psyboom:
I never played as elves in Oblivion for one main reason. The voice actor for them really annoyed me.

oblivion vs skyrim
Of course the redguard is at the back
