To be honest I think skyrim will be the most interesting one, it has always been the province or whatever that I really wanted to see.
Skyrim's going to be fucking incredible.
They would be terribly interesting.
Something tells me you don't remember the south eastern part of Cyrodiil in Oblivion. I would not want a whole map of that.
Something tells me you don't remember the south eastern part of Cyrodiil in Oblivion. I would not want a whole map of that.
Yeah, it's pretty ugly. I don't know, it has some potential, but I'd prefer the south/southwestern areas. There isn't a whole lot of territory left to explore that hasn't been covered yet. Well, there's mainland Morrowind, I suppose. Would be interesting to see how things are going after the loss of Vvardenfell.
only argonians can survive there, haha
Well, they can always bullshit some reason for everyone else being able to go there. It ain't exactly impossible.
Besides, Red Mountain's Eruption essentially turned that Blackmarsh and Morrowind into Fallout: New Balmora, so a game there might not be so hot. I'd want to see the Elven homelands.
You all think far too small. I expect that the next Elder Scrolls takes place in the entire continent. We already have the technology to support large worlds, however we do not yet have that technology implemented to sustain a world full of radiant AI and not enough storage for all the voice overs that would be required. I would estimate, assuming that Skyrim would take one full Blu-ray, an entire continent would take about 6 blu-rays. One blu-ray for the world, one for the AI, one for the voice overs, one for all the scripted crap, etc. Let's hope the next form of media is far superior to blu-rays.
How so? [editline]asdf[/editline] Well, I suppose it could be pretty cool if they do it right. Dark atmospheric swamps full of dangerous flora and fauna would be pretty interesting, but it wouldn't be a particularly lively place because there probably aren't many large towns and nothing really goes on down there.
Yeah, but it would be sweet if they, I don't know, would make an expansion pack for skyrim that lets you visit the remains of Morrowind and Blackmarsh, or just a part of it. The Morrowind mainland and surrounding areas were unaffected. Also after this, having seceded from the Empire, Black Marsh swept in and conquered Morrowind. It was the floating city Umbriel that destroyed most of Black Marsh. I don't remember Morrowind being affected? I know when the Argonians took over the rest of the Dunmer fled to Solstheim... but I think the Argonians and Morrowind still stand.
Let's hope the next form of media is far superior to blu-rays.
It's called Hard Drives and digital download services! :v: Oh, and Fiber optic Internet.
I knew the Vvardenfell part but I didn't know that Black Marsh was destroyed. When did that happen?
4E 40, it's covered in the book, The Infernal City. (Fourth Era 40, Skyrim starts at about 4E 201 for reference)
It would take AGES for them to complete a game of that magnitude even if they only put as much effort into it as they did with Oblivion!
Fully building, programming and scripting NPCs over the entirety of Tamriel (or what's left of it) would take an insane amount of effort, dedication and time, not to mention all the quests and story that would have to be created. If they started working on it right after Skyrim comes out I'd give them until between 2020 and 2025 until the game's completed, at the very least. We don't have anywhere near the technology it would take to handle a game of that magnitude. Also bugtesting and playtesting could take an infinite amount of time and I imagine nobody would ever be willing to do it.
It would take AGES for them to complete a game of that magnitude even if they only put as much effort into it as they did with Oblivion!
Would it not be worth the wait though? Better waiting for TESVI than the next Duke Nukem!
Summerset Isles would make for some stunning visuals, because of its tropical climate.
Also bugtesting and playtesting could take an infinite amount of time and I imagine nobody would ever be willing to do it.
We're talking about Besthesda, bugtesting and playtesting aren't on the table until after release
It's called Hard Drives and digital download services! :v: Oh, and Fiber optic Internet.
Fiber Optic internet isn't common and if I am forced to download every single game I want to play I'm gonna rage. Internet bills would be through the roof and ridiculous waiting times (as I said, fiber optic isn't common) would cause deaths from impatience and boredom.
It would take AGES for them to complete a game of that magnitude even if they only put as much effort into it as they did with Oblivion!
especially if they have one playtester like in oblivion lol

Alright I just watched the gameplay videos and I sincerely believe that this will be one of the greatest games of all time.
In all honestly though, I wanted Skyrim to be in Skyrim :buddy:
In all honestly though, I wanted Skyrim to be in Skyrim :buddy:
Game's title is Skyrim. Takes place in sunken Yokuda.
I think the next game may have to be some kind of prequel because the Empire's been completely buttrammed by all these prophecies and I don't think there's going to be any way to continue the story after Skyrim. Apparently all the events from the past games have been building up to Skyrim.
Really? Going to make a bunch of Steam accounts and play TF2 from a VMWare station with Mac OSX installed. Gonna be RICH. :v:
That was an introductory bonus.
I gave my Steam account credentials to a random stranger here just for the Earbuds. [editline]16th August 2011[/editline] Whoops, Skyrim thread.
That was an introductory bonus.
Damn, you foiled my plot!

Is there like a list of confirmed/changed features?
It's in OP.

But in all reality I think that increases the chances of one of those provinces being featured in an upcoming game. Sounds like good story to me.
