it's incredibly cringeworthy, the only thing that lifted the E3 coverage slightly above gametrailers was that morgan webb is slightly less insipid and horrible than ijustine

What the fuck your school has a swordsmanship class?

posh schools
The most interesting choice I have at Uni is archery. PFft.
Implying that archery is not a great skill to have, depending on how advanced that course gets it could actually be extremely useful to a ton of people. Maybe it's just my paranoid survivalist ass focusing too much on things that might never happen, but knowing what to do with a bow is always aces in my book.

zombies? is it zombies? i was thinking zombies, where you thinking zombies?
I was thinking economic or societal collapse, but I guess zombies could do both. So sure?
Well it's not like the concept of swordplay isn't a case of understanding you know how things collide.
Sure there's all sorts of theoretics involved like what puts what strain where and the physical conditioning but for the context of a video game, specially one where you may just be huge and basically made of nothing but muscle and combat skill, being able to block with a sword doesn't seem so amazingly farfetched.
Or you could do the inconvenient thing and brace the flat of the blade against your other forearm to block - it's now slower to block using a weapon than a shield because of the necessary movement, conveniently acting as a game balancer without stopping you from blocking entirely. Sure it's not the sort of thing you'd do in a regular fight but a) it's a game, b) it's not so amazingly farfetched that a swordfighter might stray from a specific set of movements, since limiting yourself only to what you know is a pretty good way to get yourself killed imho
I'm pretty sure they would have blocking with one weapon if they could.
Heck I'm sure you can block if you are just wielding 1 sword and nothing else but in the end it all comes down to the limitation of gamepad buttons.

The Sess is the only good part of G4

I do hope there is a mod for PC that adds parrying.
It really doesn't even NEED a button.
It could be part of the One-Handed skill, every time an enemy tries to hit you there's a chance you parry it.
The higher your One-Hand skill the higher the chance that you parry.

Here's hoping there's both, I would prefer the parry mod over the block mod.
Guys, whenever 3 or more NPCs are in my FOV, my fps drops to 20/30, and it really bothers me when I'm on a fight. Christ help me whenever I'm on the market district.
I have never really been this much hyped for game

I've noticed fps drops whenever there is a crowd too. I blame Gamebryo.
It's going to be funny when the same issues that are in Gamebryo (scratch the bad face models of course) wind up being in Skyrim and everyone starts hating on Creation.
I hope this doesn't happen, but I won't be surprised if it does.
I get the same problem, I kinda just blame it on my dual core though.

There should be a "sad" rating, I'm gonna have to blame it on mine too, unfortunately.
What stranges me most, is that my PS3 version (what the fuck was I thinking) runs it A LOT faster with like, 6 NPCs on-screen.

Yes, I mean the only problem I had with Gamebryo is the bad optimization. It's a game from 2006 but it often runs worse on my rig than most new games released today.

are you shitting me
I don't see why the lack of dual wielding would be a result of lack of buttons, Bethesda probably wants to make the different fighting styles more distinct. Same reason they removed medium armor. Instead of sharing the same capabilities, Bethesda is focusing on specialising the different fighting techniques and armors to make them more diverse. Also I don't care what weapons you're dual wielding, I just don't see blocking being a valid tactic against someone with a twohanded warhammer, you'd think you'd get your own weapons smashed into your face.
IMHO Bethesda did the right thing.
Okay i find this so stupid. You cannot block without equiping a shield? so if you are a spell user and a sword user, your forced to take repeated hits from enemies without being able to do fuck all about it?

Ha, all the comments are calling the review bullshit (which it is).
I love it.
I think most people generally like to see the thing they are going to buy.
You can see the thing you are going to buy easily without needing every little detailed spoonfed to you in a massive video series, and they've done that

You can get a shield spell?
