The 'stats in real life' comment was an attempt to point out that my comment was not refering to practical in-game reasons but infact real armoured combat. While it's true that each solider's armour was unique in design but is it true that real soldiers used widely varying designs and materials within their own suits?
As for recharging enchanted weapons, I think it was to balence enchantments over spells. In Morrowind there were 'on cast' enchantments and items regained charge over time while magicka only regenerated while sleeping or waiting. This made shooting a fireball out of an amulet more apealing then spells. Also felt 'on cast' enchants a bit wierd, like shooting a fireball out of your shoulder or your feet.
I'd say that casting a fireball from your feet would be awesome, like you'd be kicking ethereal flames at your opponents.
i would like to cast fireballs out of everywhere on my body
and create a silouette
I'm having a small problem with Oblivion.
I was looking at a wiki for The Elder Scrolls and after reading about the unofficial patch's I decided to install them. I ran Oblivion after each patch to make sure it worked. It worked after the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, the Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, and the Unofficial Official Mods Patch but when I installed the Unofficial Oblivion Patch Supplemental the game crashed right away.
So I started the Oblivion launcher and went into the data files and deactivated all the unofficial patch's and the game worked fine. So one by one I reactivated the unofficial patch's and found that the only one that didn't work was "Knights - Unofficial Patch.esp", as soon as I activated it the game crashed again. All the others work fine.
Anyone have an idea about why just the one isn't working? Should I just continue the game with it deactivated?
The only issue I have with merged armor sets is less enchantment slots.
Means magic armor you get from quests or high-end chests will have much more enchantments on them IE Shrouded Armor and the like have 6 enchantments. Crimson Raiment has 7. :v:
Am I the only one who hated weapons having limited charges in Oblivion? It seems like every other RPG in existence could balance weapons without adding a parking meter.
Mehrune's Razor and unlimited charges would make the game a cake walk

Have you tried re-installing it? Should give that a shot. Also, are there any other mods you have installed? It is known to conflict with some mods but not cause problems, however it's possible to have a conflict that would cause problems.

I did try re-installing it, It didn't help, and I don't have any other mods yet.
I think for now I'll just continue playing since everything else is working fine.
As long as they don't remove the sandbox element and the basic elements of TES games, I'm fine with what they do.

Could be your load order. Run BOSS. You do have Knights of the Nine installed, right?

also it's my birthday today, someone travel forward in time and get me a copy of skyrim
Oh, that sexy box over here is new.
I'm kind of disappointed about the main quest not having branches. I know The Elder Scrolls generally doesn't, but there's never anything wrong with a little bit of choice. I usually only finish it on one character anyways., at least the smaller quests have branching.
Still so many...

Just the other day I was thinking about how skyrim is only a few months away and it's really not that far off.
Then I see the actual numbers and die a little inside.
Also I just heard about tavern brawls FUCK I AM SO EXCITED TO BE A DRUNKARD.
Has anyone heard if drinking booze is going to effect anything but stats this time around?

Since hey added Head Bobbing, It can be possible to make the screen twist and move Randomly (a bit like in ME2) and if there's depth of field it gets thicker, that would be neat.
Ahh that feeling when I saw them open the map for the first time.
I just started up Morrowind again, after playing Oblivion for so long, it feels very weird.
Started playing Morrowblivion, fucking fantastic. Lets you take your Oblivion character to Morrowind, and it has all of the locations, people, items, and quests.

Sweet. Might try it.
Hey are there any mods that really improve the experience of Oblivion? I just bought and wanted to know.

Should really play it vanilla the first time before you go modding the fuck out of it.

Well, you should at least get the unofficial patches.

4 Months ain't that bad.
Well, you should at least get the unofficial patches.
Well, this should be essential since they fix bugs that are usually game breakers or downright annoying.Other mods are optional and just add flair.
