The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim V5: But there is one they fear - Dragon porn!

Why are you guys still arguing about the blocking?
Half of you are saying it wouldn't make sense to block with two weapons because your arms would break or some dumb shit like that. And the other half of you are arguing for blocking with two weapons for other dumb shit reasons.
The way I see it, if they allow you to block with ONE weapon (without a shield) then they should allow you to block with TWO weapons. I don't care what's more realistic or what would happen in real life, this is the fifth of the Elder Scrolls, which should make it obvious that realism doesn't matter at all and if y
And if you do want to complain about that kind of shit then complain about why your hands don't get burned off when your hands are engulfed by flames when yo are charging and casting spells.
At least it's a lot easier to pretend you know shit about how fire works instead of random situations with weapon and arm durability (or whatever the fuck) that you really don't know anything about because most of you are modern-day british white wimps, and we all know that anyone cool from England died along with, during, or before feudalism.
A staff and a shield, now that would look bad ass imo.

People you can't block while dual-wielding it doesn't matter if it's a staff or any other shit the real reason is still that there is not enough buttons on the game-pad and they aren't going to make it exclusive to the PC.
You will probably be able to block with a staff or sword if your other hand is free because then you have a free button to use.
Err what? Do you mean Faelian? Lorkmir is dead as soon as the game begins lol.
Goddamnit, yes yes yes. I'm an idiot on the keyboard, even at midnight. My standards are falling.
I have 3 copies of Oblivion ARGH
Extra copies on steam?
Extra copies on steam?
Could be good value.
Extra copies on steam?
They're all retail, because I bought Oblivion before Steam was cool.
"The Lusty Argonian Maid" makes me curious about how a Carry On Elder Scrolls would be like. Heck what would Carry On versions of other video games be like?
Not blocking with dual weapons. It's for balancing gameplay. /end discussion

For "OMG REALISTIC" kind of people:
In oblivion if you didn't have a shield and tried to block you would use both your hands to hold a longsword in a blockinging position to not have your arm break from the farce of impact.
/end discussion again

That's another thing, why are they nerfing this game so much? no hand-to-hand, no blocking with two weapons, no SPELLCRAFTING.
It's not a fucking multiplayer game, if someone doesn't want to make a 1000pt fire damage spell then they won't do that. There's no reason for them to take that stuff out, especially at the expense of people who want to have their own custom spells.
They are saying they want the player to play their own way, now a lot of people can't even remotely have their way. They better have some powerful spells.
Yeah, PC can mod that stuff but the people on consoles (like me, sadly) really can't do jack shit about it.
And to think, 50 pages back I was talking about how we should appreciate everything in this game.
[editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
They don't need to force this shit when people can balance or unbalance the game for themselves.
[editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
wtf
Sounds like you just want overpowered spells :v:
I believe it's because you no longer will have multiple fireball spells with 1 damage difference on each but you will upgrade the fire ball spell while you use it or upgrade it at shop or upgrade it as a skill when leveling. This is good imo, the system in oblivion was just annoying and would clod up the inventory.
At least I hope it will be this way. If you want overpowered spells you could always cheat for them to deal 1000 damage because common don't tell me you where gonna craft one of those spells legitimately.
no hand-to-hand, no SPELLCRAFTING.

Whenever did anyone say so?

I love my overpowered spells :saddowns:

Balancing because controllers suck. They said it themselves (although its not like there couldn't be a block button or anything...).

If you payed attention to anything for the last 8 months you would know.

I have and as far as I know No source said that there won't be hand to hand combat.
I don't know about spellcrafting though.

No hand to hand skill. No spellcrafting. Both of these have been confirmed.
This thread will move just absolutely ridiciloiusly fast when the game is released.

I knew about the skill, it's not a bad thing if they connected your hands' damage with your strength.

Ill be busy waiting for my retail copy to arrive.

Hand to Hand actually falls under the Two Handed skill. If you'd like to play a monk, then you'll also have to be really good at swinging giant axes. However, you don't have to swing any axes, but you'll be good at it.

I just read the Skyrim will feature Steamworks, does this mean that even if you don't buy the game on Steam (say Retail) you still need to activate the CD-Key on Steam to play it? Kinda like Valve games and Empire: Total War for example?
That would be great as I'd prefer to buy it retail but still get it on Steam.
