yeah
Buyin' retail for box, CD for backup, manual, and map. Steamworks fuck yeah.
I did this before steamworks was confirmed, even risking that I might have to download a bajillion patches if I want to install it again was worth it. Woo steamworks.
No spellcrafting. Both of these have been confirmed.
Source?
Hate to be the bearer of bad news. MikeJamesB2TG Mike James @DCDeacon Can you use your fists in combat in Skyrim? If so, what skill does it fall under? 12 Aug in reply to ↑ Pete Hines @DCDeacon Pete Hines @MikeJamesB2TG Yes, you can. Isn't related to a skill. 12 Aug via TweetDeck Also confirmed on Pete's twitter are no spellcrafting, no dual wielding shields, regenerating health, and quest markers
So stuff we already knew, ok.
no spellcrafting Doesn't bother me. no dual wielding shields That's good news. regenerating health Doesn't matter so much. quest markers Could be useful but is not nessesary for the players who like immersion. There will probably be mods for it.
Wait there are no quest markers? Thank god. I hated that shit, it was like Oblivion was designed for babies or people with downssyndrom. hopefully this game will be a bit more like morrowind on some levels.
no quest markers? then I'll just get confused :saddowns: [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
Wait there are no quest markers? Thank god.
no quest markers? then I'll just get confused :saddowns: [editline]18th August 2011[/editline] oh thanks
Hey, don't be sad. I just didn't like the quest marker because it seemed like they expected nothing from me, and I was used to Daggerfall and Morrowind.
The only thing that slightly upsets me is not being able to dual wield shields. And quest markers are in.
No you guys got it wrong there will be quest markers and regenerating health. But they said you would be able to turn quest markers off. [editline]18th August 2011[/editline] You will also be able to have multiple quest markers on at once.
Honestly I don't know, but you could in previous games, it's like a stoneskin spell that raises your defense.
I'd like to see the shield spell do something like make a big forcefield in front of you, and it can be shattered by repeated attacks.
Is there anywhere i can get the Skyrim Premium Map thing in the UK? Can't see any sites that have it listed.
The only thing that slightly upsets me is not being able to dual wield shields...
You must be joking.
You must be joking.
I'm not saying it's a deal breaker, just wanted a option for MAXIMUM DEFENSE. Besides, we can dual wield staffs, so why not?
ffs
I have 3 copies of Oblivion ARGH
I have four/five Morrowinds and Three Oblivions
no dual wielding shields
no fun allowed
Assuming NPCs give you proper direction, then quest markers wouldn't be needed. But I imagine that's not the case. Radiant quests are probably going to be vague at best, and the quest marker will probably be required. I hope it only points you to the general area, though... not actually giving you direction straight to the NPC or item in question Regenerating health doesn't really bother me. AFAIK your health regenerated slowly in daggerfall, and that was a better system.
Can't wait to beat up some people with my hand to hand Nord :buddy:
Wait, they actually confirmed there is no spellcrafting? Dammit I loved that. Can I get a source? I had heard rumours but didnt think there had been any proof.
No hand to hand skill. No spellcrafting. Both of these have been confirmed.
Wait, no spellcrafting? That's fucking stupid. All Elder Scrolls games have had spellcrafting.
I'm not saying it's a deal breaker, just wanted a option for MAXIMUM DEFENSE. Besides, we can dual wield staffs, so why not?
Because you can in no way actually damage the opponent? Except for shield bashing but I would guess that makes barley and damage at all. [editline]18th August 2011[/editline] And shouts but you can't kill a lot of people with that they are more one time things.
And because it is a retarded idea.
Wait, no spellcrafting? That's fucking stupid. All Elder Scrolls games have had spellcrafting.
I thought this was sort of obvious? Spells are primarily unlocked though the perk tree I think, so you unlock more powerful spells as you go. Though, they also mentioned you can buy spells, so it kind of defeats the purpose.. unless the ones you buy are entirely new spells. I sort of like the idea of no spellmaking. Since the world is in sort of a dark age, it makes sense that magic would be a bit less scientific, and more inherit... so as your practice magical abilities, you get better at it as you discover new things yourself.
Guys you can combine two spells into one now. I think that's their new take on spellcrafting. Besides when have you ever made a legit spell that you were actually able to cast and wasn't weaker than the default spell?
Does anyone know how fast the health regenerates? I don't think people would like it if it was like CoD. A slow progressive regeneration would seem nice.

That seems like a terrible idea. And it really doesn't make sense that there are a dozen spellmaking altars in Cyrodiil and 0 in Skyrim, even if there's been a dark age and a civil war spellmaking altars don't really seem like a pertinent target to destroy. So lorewise it makes a bit of sense for there to be at least a few, and in a province as rich and powerful as Skyrim it only makes sense for there to be them, at least in a large city's mage guild. Dawnstar's, perhaps? If they have a mage's guild. [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
Does anyone know how fast the health regenerates?
Why are you guys still arguing about the blocking? Half of you are saying it wouldn't make sense to block with two weapons because your arms would break or some dumb shit like that. And the other half of you are arguing for blocking with two weapons for other dumb shit reasons. The way I see it, if they allow you to block with ONE weapon (without a shield) then they should allow you to block with TWO weapons. I don't care what's more realistic or what would happen in real life, this is the fifth of the Elder Scrolls, which should make it obvious that realism doesn't matter at all and if y And if you do want to complain about that kind of shit then complain about why your hands don't get burned off when your hands are engulfed by flames when yo are charging and casting spells. At least it's a lot easier to pretend you know shit about how fire works instead of random situations with weapon and arm durability (or whatever the fuck) that you really don't know anything about because most of you are modern-day british white wimps, and we all know that anyone cool from England died along with, during, or before feudalism.
You are controling the magical fire Unless you're a massive dumbfuck of a mage and let the flames actually burn you.
