In a podcast they said they were planning to limit how the face creation thing worked. So...don't get your hopes up :v:
I hope that just means that they're going to make it impossible to make a face that's so distorted that it clips through helmets, and not that they're going to go back to a selection of pre-made faces or something.
On the topic of amor slots being merged and everyone bitching about how terrible it is:

why would they do that?
why would they do that?
It was just a rather extreme example of what they could do if they really wanted to. I really doubt that they would go back to pre-made faces. I was just trying to say that I hope they're not going to dumb down creating your character.
Bethesda are such trolls, almost every answer they give is either "we're experimenting with that" or "we can't say at the moment".

Can't be much worse than slider central.

They were mostly referring to how the Random button would cause faces to be all doughy and stupid, hence their joke by calling it the 'Ugly' button.
Well I'm sure there will be shouts that aren't all FUCK YOU in your face. I can see there being a quieter one for stealth or something. I could as easily be wrong. :saddowns:
How can you shout quietly?
Sneak around behind some people and then right behind them, then scream SUPER STEALTH ACTIVATE.
I think they heard you.

Brotherhood armor. Two parts. Makes life miserable but hell, it gives me what I need. I'll fit in just fine!

Sort of how someone sneaks right up to your ear, whispers 'Wanna hear something funny?' and then scream very loudly, causing you jump and jitter. :v:
I do not like these rumors about limited face customization.
Beth better not fuck this up :argh:
Who can recommend me some good graphics mods for Oblivion? It's okay if it's not completely accurate with the atmosphere (though I happily suggest you cut your balls off if you link one of those 'kawaii uguu desu desu' anime mods) but don't go too nuts.
I don't know how I'll be able to wait until November.. I want Skyrim so damn badly.

No rumor

Yes, it's rather old.
9 minutes, they talk about Werewolf, but it not being a focus for Skyrim (Turning into different things).
30:30 - Dark Brotherhood is mentioned to return, 'different from before'. Kinda worried. But there will be returns from the previous DB. (Lucien, I hope)
Sorry, seems the person I received these sources from has some kind of vendetta against Beth. After I went over it, I smacked them. Sorry . Excuse me, I need to have a talk with this person.
Edited:
They like to joke around DLC though.

Don't remember where exactly. I'll look for it.
Found it, it's at 20:15 onward.
Because I shockingly roleplay in a roleplaying game, and perhaps I'm playing as an aged dunmer from the time of oblivion, who ISN'T a dragonborn? Insane right?
What if I don't WANT to be a dragonborn because I think absorbing dragon souls to gain power is stupid.
or many other reasons why I would not want to play with them, just like how I don't plan to be a nord with a long beard like 90% of this thread plans to be.
It's kinda hard to roleplay not being Dragonborn when the whole point of the game is that you are.
It's kinda hard to roleplay not being Dragonborn when the whole point of the game is that you are.
Yes, my entire post was complaining about how your forced to be a dragonborn, which is against the point of a ROLEPLAYING game.
Read this ina book in Oblivion. I can't help but think it's Bethesda taking a jab at gamers:
"Life is short. If you have not made love recently, please, put down this book, and take care of that with all haste. Find a wanton lass or a frisky lad, or several, in whatever combination your wise loins direct, and do not under any circumstances play hard to get. Our struggle against the colossal forces of oppression can wait."
Yes, my entire post was complaining about how your forced to be a dragonborn, which is against the point of a ROLEPLAYING game.
Im pretty sure I read somewhere that at the beginning of the game you dont know that you are dragonborn (Maybe you sneeze and demolish a small town) , I would expect that if you dont do the main quest then you are just a normal person. Roleplay away. I doubt Bethesda would lock you into doing or being anything hugeley game changing.
And if all else fails, mods.
Yes, my entire post was complaining about how your forced to be a dragonborn, which is against the point of a ROLEPLAYING game.
No, your role is the Dragonborn, you play that role. Just like being a Spectre or Grey Warden were your role in Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

I hate that too. if you are given a role, it's NOT ROLEPLAYING. In baldur's gate you had a role in the story, but WHY was up to you, not the GAME.
I hate that too. if you are given a role, it's NOT ROLEPLAYING.
Err.
Yes it is?
If you are playing a role, you are roleplaying. Doesent matter if you chose that role or not.
Just about every Elder Scrolls game had you be someone.
Morrowind had you be the Nerevarine. Oblivion had you be... Well okay, nothing. I don't see what the big deal is.

Last I checked playing a role meant you were roleplaying. It's kind of the point, you're given a role and you decide how to play it, you don't choose what role you play.
Have they shown any armor other than the armor Dovakhiin wears in the trailers?

Elven in some screens and the gameplay briefly.
Elven in some screens and the gameplay briefly.
I hope they start showing more stuff. My favorite thing about Oblivion was all the stuff that was available. If everyone ends up with the same end-game equipment I'll be a bit upset.
We've had this roleplaying argument before, playing a role is not roleplaying. if it was EVERY GAME would be a roleplaying game, halo has you play a role, call of duty has you play a role, ect.
roleplaying (at least to me) is D&D style character building, choices, being your own created character and not the one that the game devs made up for you. in dragon age 2 you HAVE to be Hawke, you can't not be him, sure you can change a bit about him but you're still him.

THESE ARE ALL IN THE GAME! And D&D does give you a role, you're generally forced to stop whatever big bad is trying to destroy the land/enslave everyone/steal all the pies. It's still a roleplaying game.

I want to roleplay as a chair, why won't Bethesda let me play as a chair?
