I'm slightly wary of Todd's comment about COD, but I think he's an earnest developer who loves his games and would never put his name on something he thought he just shat out for a quick buck. Even if Skyrim is only an actual RPG in the loosest terms, I'm confident it will be a very fun and enjoyable game with a lot of thought and love put into its creation.

I think some people get so wound up in how much this game is an RPG they seem to forget that games are meant to be played and enjoyed.

They patch it one way or another, why not take the extra time to test and fix the bugs prior to launch instead of letting the general public complain like madmen on various boards. I'm not saying it'll be fucking quick or easy, but they do it anyways one way or another.

I remember once I was alt tabbed browsing the fallout thread when FO3 came out. I was saying how I didn't think gamebryo was that buggy.

It was, but I recall there was still a fair bit of malcontent complaining over it, calling it "sexist" and "unfair" even though the fact of the matter is different people are born different and the game should probably reflect that.

Maybe they think that stat-wise the differences would just be overcome quickly so any impact on gameplay would be so imunte it's just not worth it.

They did something similar in Baldur's Gate, in which Females suffered from a Str penalty, males suffering from no penalty at all. Which was kinda balls, really, but hell. A female warrior can still kick your ass with a good axe so :v:
