Looks like it's the perfect time to start playing Morrowind again. Even if you'll overshoot by 6 years.
Fixed. Then the next TES comes out and you haven't even screamed at dragons.
Personally I would suggest trying out WAC instead of FCOM
http://waalx.com/RealSwordsForum/index.php
It's way the hell easier to set up seeing as it's actually a consistent singular megamod instead of a mashup of like 4 different megamods. Though it's called "Wallx Animals and Creatures" it adds much, much more than new enemies. It's not as big (filesize) as FCOM and also not really as content-packed, but it definitely feels very different from the normal game. It also tends to put up less of a fight with other mods than FCOM does.
It is pretty different from FCOM in that it focuses more on new content and not so much on changes to the core gameplay though, FCOM is definitely a different sort of experience. But since WAC is a good deal less "so much shit has changed that it will conflict with damn near everything and requires extensive use of wryebash to work properly", you can typically feel free to install whatever other gameplay mods you want. A friend of mine even got OOO working with it but I haven't tried that myself.
I installed FCOM yesterday and it seems to be working. I haven't really done any extensive testing but the game runs and there seems to be new enemies and items, so everything seems good. Any easy way to test if all the components work properly?
Now I'm installing a bunch of aesthetic mods and that's where everything's going to hell. I can't even seem to get half of them working properly. When OBMM tells there will be conflicts and I install the mod anyway, does it just overwrite the old files like it says it does? Shouldn't they still work if thats the case? I mean, I have a mod that replaces NPC faces, one that replaces face textures, then ones that replace Bosmer, Redguard and Dunmer faces individually, so they're just conflicting like fuck. I have ran BOSS, rebuilt bashed patch, reset the BSA timestamps and run the archiveinvalidation utility but they still don't seem to work.
I'm using this guide: http://knotstheinane.blogspot.com/p/oblivion-modding-guide.html
If he got them all to work simultaneously, shouldn't they work for me too?
I don't think you actually need to use archive invalidation if you're doing the BSA timestamps thing, I'm not sure if doing it would cause problems or something though.
Don't have any advice beyond that, sorry
Now I got everything to work except for Better Looking Wood Elves and Better Looking Dark Elves. For some reason though, the Better Looking Redguards from the same guy works just fine. I also have TNR and Natural Faces, which obviously conflict with the Better Looking -- mods, but I have the Better Looking mods loaded last in my load order so they should work, shouldn't they? I didn't install the Bosmer, Dunmer or Redguard parts from TNR, though, to avoid conflicts. Has anyone had any problems with these mods?
I'd really want to get these to work because the wood elves in Oblivion look even worse than in vanilla Morowind, and I'm not even going to talk about the dark elves.

Did I imagine it or was it said at some point we'd be able to recruit NPCs to accompany you on quests and stuff?

I think i heard about a companion system that made you able to get any NPC as your companion... Unless that was the relationship/marriage system.

Woah, look at the loading screen at the end. Is that one of the Dwemer Ball thingies?

isn't it a shield?
I haven't gotten to the point where load-order matters yet. I'm still trying to follow FCOM's installation instructions.
First you have to download this version of that mod, but only grab THESE files and NONE OF THE OTHERS and then you get another version of that mod and grab DIFFERENT files and put them aside for now, then grab the latest version of a different mod, bring over all the files, and overwrite if it asks you to, now bring the files you set aside back over and overwrite THOSE files, and then delete all the following files and then download another version, and bla bla bla bla bla
It just keeps going on and on and on. Why can't they just have a single friggen mod package? "This is FCOM, it has everything you need to use FCOM. Enjoy."
just use this guide, it's pretty easy if you have any modding experience and can follow instructions:

So you are asking why your mods dont work because you use 3 different mods that do the same.
Wow. You know they conflict and still you do it.
Are you retarded or something?
I'm not sure if I need to merge the levelled lists for any of my mods... Also not sure how to "use Wyre Mash" to install mods or how it differs from the manual way to install mods. I'm not sure of a lot of things.

Derp, I've merged them in bashed patch and sorted my load orders so that there should be no reason for them not to work. Also, they were all in the modding guide I used, and they're all just textures and meshes so I should be able to just overwrite the ones I don't want with the ones I want. And I didn't even use the Bosmer and Dunmer ones from TNR.
You didn't solve my problem.
I just wan't to get rid of this:
isn't it a shield?
To the Left of the shield. If you look, it's a black screen, and towards the end it flickers on.
After removing all my mods except MMM, Oblivion still crashes on fast travel. So I disable MMM.
It crashes on fast travel, fuck you Oblivion
disable oblivion

anyone else see a face there? tiny little dwemers in robots
Jesus, if those things are back, I'm going to cry. They were so badass in Morrowind, but I found them hard as shit.
I hope we have some more trippy quests this time round, like going in the painting and killing those florescent trolls.
What are these?
Hey guys

scavenging for snippets of footage everyday
Is there any footage of third person jump animation yet?
So instead of blunt and blade, there is one and two handed as skill?
Cool, I guess. I still prefer Blunt and Blade, though.
there are guards watching everywhere in the beth booth, hard to get footage
Found something interesting on uesp again:
The greatest of the Nords can call to specific people over hundreds of miles
The GrayBeards will probably call you this way.
and can move by casting a shout, appearing where it lands
and that would be an awesome dragonshout, scream at the top of the highest mountain *BAM* there.

It's like a fucking relocator thingy from Unreal Tournament.

I can already see, sound replacement of shouts, so much potential.
