What quest does that lore come in on?
Its from the Books in the games isn't it? Its fascinating what you can find in the games if you just read the in-game books.
I always found the stories of the Chimer's transformation into the Dunmer the most interesting. It's more interesting if you play as a Dunmer and interact with Azura in any of the games.
I think Akavir is somehow involved with the dragon invasion in Skyrim. And I've got proof to substantiate that claim: 1. The Dragons are a race from Akavir (They're Sapient BTW, the videos make them seem like animas) 2. Tosh Raka, the leader of the Ka Po Tun has successfully "Turned into a dragon" and he is the largest dragon on Nirn. He has Orange and black scales. Many people think, myself included, Tosh Raka was simply eaten by a Dragon and usurped control of the Ka Po Tun to get the Dragons back to their former glory. For all we know Akavir might have already succumbed to Dragons, or the Ka Po Tun all magically turned into dragons and decided to invade a weakened Tamriel. Because thats the kind of things Akavir did in the past after all. I wouldn't be surprised if Akavir wasn't involved in some way anyway, and since Alduin is confirmed as coming back, this could just be the Dragons from Akavir wanting their God to come back, similar to how the Mythic Dawn wanted Mehrunes Dagon to destroy everything, however it would make a teeeeny bit more sense for a bunch of destructive dragons to WANT to destructive dragon god to come on Nirn to join in on the fun. Oh, and the book "Mysterious Akavir" has this at the very end:
"First," Tosh Raka says, "is that we kill all the vampire snakes." Then the Tiger-Dragon Emperor wants to invade Tamriel.
For all we know they might have killed off the Tsaesci, then turned into Dragons somehow, and are now invading Tamriel. Or Skyrim's main enemies will be a bunch of Japanese style Khajiits with dragons as allies, going by how Ka Po Tun are supposed to look like.
Not meaning to crap all over your theory, but aren't the dragons in Skyrim the "angel" servants of Aludin called Jills?
Possibly. We know Alduin is involved, but Akavir could be involved as well. In fact the black Dragons from Akavir I'm pretty sure where the exact same dragons known as "Jills" EDIT: Dragons lived in Tamriel as well, some of them got drove off by Cliff Racers. Yep, Cliff Racers were too much for a being 100 times their size with fire breath. Also the game "Redguard" (Which I never played) has a Dragon that was one of Tiber Septims Loyal servants.
If you weren't so ignorant to the lore you'd understand why everything is descendant of elves.
I didn't say "I don't understand," I said I didn't like it Way to insult our intelligences dickbag
Now, the dwemer I understand. that's an interesting, unique take on the idea of dwarves and elves. But Falmer just seem like goblins. Goblins aren't elves.
LotR is actually pretty similar lore wise (in this aspect). I can't remember if Goblins were elves (the smaller orcs) or if just the really big ones that Sarumon likes to make were elves.
I didn't say "I don't understand," I said I didn't like it Way to insult our intelligences dickbag
Firstly, my statement was in no way insulting. Ignorant simply means that you are lacking knowledge or experience. Second, if you don't like the lore, why are you here?
Hey does anyone know where I can see the PAX Prime 2011 footage? Is there like a download link that you guys would have? I know some of you facepunchers had to of downloaded the videos before they were taken down. Apparently not. . .
"hey Alduin, we're going to that nord bar get some drinks and make barbeque, you comin'?"
In my mind I imagined other dragons saying that, and IMO it makes more sense than a bunch of hooded zealots wanting to bring a destructive god into the world. The Mythic Dawn didn't even have a good reason for wanting to summon Dagon on Nirn. They were basically stereotypical stupid "Devil worshipers" basically.
Reading up on the Elhnofey makes the split between mer/man more understandable. Goblins are part of the Man/beast side of Elhnofey, so maybe the Falmer are a Mer counterpart? (At least, I think goblins and mer are only related via common heritage in Ehlnofey. One of the books makes a pretty clear differentiation between the two when describing the lineage of Orcs, IE 'Orcs are not related to Goblins, they're descended from Aldmer') Mythic Dawn are pretty dumb. Dagoth Ur seemed so much more interesting
Firstly, my statement was in no way insulting. Ignorant simply means that you are lacking knowledge or experience. Second, if you don't like the lore, why are you here?
Holy fuck it is insulting our intelligence (and thus insulting!). The games are still fun even if parts of the lore I rather don't like
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/09/01/skyrim-preview/#more-71839 forgive me if I'm late on this, but FALMER CONFIRMED WHAT
Awesome, carriage support even though they have Fast Travel. Basically this means people who don't want to use FT have the same system that was in morrorowind in order to get around quicker, and those that do use FT can still just use that if they want but also get to unexplored areas easier.
you do keep rating him dumb, which somehow seems to me to be suggesting that you think of him as unintelligent
If you guys want to read some gross out lore, there's one book that talks about interracial pairings...and not just Man and Mer if you know what I mean. Also it says that if there is an Interacial married couple and they have a baby, I think its assumed that the baby is always whatever the mother is. So there will never be Half Khajiit Half Argonian babies like this: I'm probably late, but I thought this article was funny. If I remembered my login info I'd be a mega nerd and say that races in Skyrim are like Pokemon. Its always whatever the mother is. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/119/1191569p1.html

Again if he had read any of the lore he'd know that the Dwemer got their nickname of Dwarves when they encountered Giants. So to the Giants they were Dwarves, even though they were a Mer race no smaller than a Human. As per the ratings, there is no other fitting rating than disagree or dumb for the posts.
Bad reading should make a comeback
Just started a playthrough of Morrowind, and I have Tribunal installed. But for some reason, I've rested several times, and the Dark Brotherhood Assassin hasn't shown up yet. Anyone know why? (yes, the ESP is enabled, and apparently there are no requirements to encounter him on the PC version, so I have no idea why I'm not being attacked by him :v:)
It's random, just keep resting! Try resting with and without a bed.
I can't decide. Should I join House Hlaalu or House Redoran in Morrowind? On the one hand, Redoran is more for fighty guys of my type, but on the other hand, Hlaalu has Crassius Curio.
It's random, just keep resting! Try resting with and without a bed.
Alright, I rest a few times without a bed, then rested with a bed and it worked. Thanks! :buddy:

This term was later picked up by the Imperials. Dwemer is a Meric (elven, basically) given name which means 'deep/secretive' or something like that. Overall, they serve as the usual mechanic for dwarves in other fantasy worlds; The race that made all the badass mechanical and arcane shit. Except with this they all disappeared.
So what's wrong with addressing the Dwemer as Dwarves? If the giants did it without giving a fuck then I will do it without giving a fuck.
So what's wrong with addressing the Dwemer as Dwarves? If the giants did it without giving a fuck then I will do it without giving a fuck.
That's not the point. The point is he was ignorant of the lore and got offended at me saying so and is continuing to be defensive over being ignorant even though it was never meant as an insult in the first place.
What i've been wondering about is since the world doesn't freeze anyone when someone speaks to you how will this effect the way guards behave. Like in Oblivion when you had a bounty you'd probably get 3 guards chasing you and whatever guard reached you first would speak to you with the whole "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!" rant. If the game world doesn't freeze then what will happen. Do you think that it will just focus the player onto the guard then bring up dialog and the surrounding guards will holster there weapons?
So what's wrong with addressing the Dwemer as Dwarves? If the giants did it without giving a fuck then I will do it without giving a fuck.
yeah but if anyone challenged the giants at names they just stepped on them
If the game world doesn't freeze then what will happen. Do you think that it will just focus the player onto the guard then bring up dialog and the surrounding guards will holster there weapons?
You know, I never really thought about that. Crap.

If I refer to Oxygen as boots then are you going to correct me too? Because I still wouldn't give a fuck.
Then stop being a baby and ignore him.
NO! I DUNN WANNA! :v: [/joke] I suppose, but what's the internet for if not to argue anonymously about unimportant things?
