Uhh... Todd prefers playing on the PC. (Pete Hines prefers the 360.) The reason they're only showing 360 screenshots is partly agreement with Microsoft, partly because it's best to show the lowest common denominator and pleasantly surprise PC gamers than to show the best of the best and make console gamers mad. The reason the demo is played on the 360 is partly those reasons, but also as Todd mentioned, playing with a keyboard and mouse on stage without a screen is pretty hard.
Also that it's a console port, so it's made to look it's best for the consoles, with a few features for PC players

Its just dawning on me how much time I am probably going to spend in this game. Oblivion came out like 5 years ago and I am still playing it and must have spent hundreds of hours in it. Hopefully Skyrim will be the same. Its strange to think I might still be playing it in 5 years.

It actually didn't get cancelled, just ported to iPhone, since UE3 is already there, Bethesda wants a piece of cake as well.

A tundra is just a landscape that has severely limited tree-growth due to harsh conditions afaik

I can see this for myself. Fire everywhere, you fall through the floor into the dungeon after thinking you heard some kind of words, but you don't understand what they mean. Then a message pops up saying "use the mouse to look around and W and S to walk forward and backward"
