Skyrim is going to be a certificate 15... Fuck.
Why is that "Fuck."?
Skyrim is going to be a certificate 15... Fuck.
Are they strict about it over there?
Oblivion was a 15 wasn't it?
Oblivion was a 15 wasn't it?
Not after they found the boobies textures in the Oblivion Textures - Compressed.bsa .
I just thought Skyrim would be aimed at a more mature audience. It's not a matter of my being too young, I'm 19. And yes, Oblivion was a 15, so I guess it's not all bad.
Mature language wouldn't make it 18, because their swear words are something along the lines of "You babbling bad breath!"
I'm pretty sure it's the sexual content and violence
Woo, I'll bet getting this game free as my friend will be buying it for my birthday, my birthday being on the 14th! :D
Not after they found the boobies textures in the Oblivion Textures - Compressed.bsa .
What is this?
Whether or not I can run it on a PC has little relevance to this argument. And of course you would pull the "U mad?" card, and the guy before you who found the shittiest game from 06 to post and then narrowing down the topic of "games" in general to "open-world games" which is shitting around that I don't care for. And to my point: Gears of War Rainbow six vegas Table Tennis HL2: Ep. 1 (Are you really going to say oblivion looked better than that?) Twilight Princess (for the Wii LOL) I love Oblivion but you fanboys need to get some sense into your skulls, they could have done better on oblivion when a Wii game had it beat. And you must also remember that I am strictly talking in terms of graphics, without influence from the amount of content. In the end, though, it is all just a matter of perspective and opinion. Even if your opinion has a bias for shit, I'll respect it.
you are fucking retarded
What is this?
Hidden textures that bumped the game up from "T" to "M". They could be modded into the game, which caused ESRB to flip a shit.
Gentlemen! Skyrim, IIRC, is running on the idtech engine. Same engine Rage and Doom 4 will be running on. This engine has not been developed by Bethesda. At all. It's all done by id, the creators of such games as Doom and Quake. Needless to say, it shall be glorious.
Not after they found the boobies textures in the Oblivion Textures - Compressed.bsa .
Actually it was apparently due to them not noticing the amount of gore on the zombies or something like that. Not sure an unimplemented nipple texture would make much difference anyway, except in america.
Hidden textures that bumped the game up from "T" to "M". They could be modded into the game, which caused ESRB to flip a shit.
That's dumb. If they counted mods, the game should be rated "A" because of the porn mods.

Same principle as hot coffee. That's a a moot point though as it wasn't the nipple texture that got the game rerated but rather the amount of gore on the zombies that the ratings board didn't notice the first time around.

Anyway, I do appear to have made a slight mistake. Just reread that article. It's a mix of idtech 5 and a new Bethesda engine, the "Creation Engine", which was created after the id acquisition. My apologies. EDIT: Don't believe me? Gameinformer 214, which contains the original interview with Todd Howard.
You have no idea how game engines work. Just shut up.
I'm an indie dev myself. I think I know quite a bit more about game engines than you, mate.

They even have modders that use this? wtf!?
"I made a flash game so I know more about game engines than you LULZ"
It's like Notch making coding tutorials. [editline]one second after the comment was posted[/editline] With a Swedish accent.
Well, Morrowind faces actually look believable, and not like potatoes, so I'll give it that, but I like how all NPC replies in Oblivion are voiced. Huge plus for me.
Morrowind is full of asshole design moves. Like the combat system with no feedback, the fact that everyone you walk past greets you with one of three phrases, the fact that your running speed is obscenely slow, the saving system being slightly borked, the terrible journal making quests a nightmare to keep track of, the lack of map markers for most places making the vague directions given to you and stored in your terrible journal even harder to keep track of, the list goes on and on. That said there's one aspect that's infinitely better than Oblivion; The UI (apart from the abysmal journal) is much nicer than Oblivion's. No clicking through a million tabs here. The spell casting system is crap though, having your spells fail a lot at low levels makes sense but having to ready your magic is incredibly annoying and more clnky than Deus Ex. And that's pretty fucking clunky. [editline]5th September 2011[/editline]
I'm an indie dev myself.
You have no idea how game engines work. Just shut up.
he could have a knowledge of game engines but what he obviously lacks is any kind of knowledge about what game engine this is using
Just because they're Mer doesn't mean they're civilised.
Read again, brother. I never said they were. In fact, quite the contrary.
They're supposed to be a barbaric, short, blue race of Mer.
(Late reply because I was sleeping :v:)
