30 Minute demo audio leak
Hadn't seen (or rather heard) this before. The sound design seems to be really great, more than shown in previous demos. Especially the music, and I goddamn hope the voice acting in-game will be as cheesy (in a good way) as in this.
"I SAW A DRAGONNNN"
I didn't like it personally. It just throws you head into a whole new world you know nothing about, but assumes you care about the racism and stuff that happens in the world. Doesn't help that every NPC you talk to literally regurgitates the same "THOSE AETERNIA ARE SCUM!!" lines, except in german.
I just feel like if you have a new world, IP or setting that you've invented, you need to write a better plot/story that helps introduce new players or readers into the world without losing their interest. Nehrim doesn't really do this, it just assumes the player and the character are already attached to this new world. But for me, who had not previous attachment or knowledge of the lore, compaired to the TES the lore to me it just came off as goofy.
I'm sure its not bad if you can ignore stuff like that but I didn't find the story/world very engaging at all when I was playing it. I mean the enviornment design was fantastic, but I'm just speaking from a lore and plot perspective.
I think the environments definitely outweigh it though, especially the underground journey part. All the fascinating locations you visit are a story of their own.
I doubt it, you can also see in this video how the first dragon goes from being animated to suddenly ragdolling upon death.

Wow - Did i just see a Hit reaction?
Look at 2:38 - 2:39.5
When the axe hits the dragons neck, it clearly takes a hit from the battleaxe and the neck is forced downwards...
This game will be so much better in 3rd person!
Would my PC be able to run this? I have 3GB Ram, Dual Core Processor, ATI 5830, Windows 7. Mostly is my graphics card going to be good enough?
System requirements are unknown as of now. Shouldn't be long though

you'll probably be fine
I'm I doing something wrong or is Oblivion meant to be stupidly hard at the default difficulty? Everything takes about 30+ hits to kill and by the time I'm about to beat them they heal and force me to either start the process over or just lower the difficulty.
Bethesda hasn't really released anything since E3.
This is going to be a tough next few months.

it's only 4 months, that shit will fly by
I finally got around to the quest to free Kim from the slavers in Nehrim, and I have to wonder why I have to make myself a slave as part of some elaborate plan instead of just killing the slavers. Or hell, we could just walk away. There's not even any guards.

It's because Bethesda are shit at difficulty scaling. All they do is add health to your enemies. Just lower the difficulty until you find a good spot.

There's no need to be a dick.

You must be the hardcore badass that maxes out the difficulty slider in order to remove all joy from the combat so you can brag about it online.
Also, never ever play MMM on any difficulty equal to or higher than the default setting. You will be mudstomped and raped to death repeatedly by large groups of enemies many levels above you within the first couple dungeons. If you want to play on normal or higher, stick to killing exclusively bandits and wildlife, because even low-level dungeons without them will contain Daedroths, Dread Zombies, and hordes of undead Imperial Guards.

how fast dual core processor?
Other stuff is okay.

Lower the difficulty, there's no shame in it since Oblivion's method of scaling the difficulty is really shit.

It's a console port on an engine that shouldn't be a hideously unoptimized, so you'll be fine.
It's starting to look more and more like Oblivion with better bump mapping and slightly better animations. Oblivion was good, but it feels very dated. I would like to have it feel responsive, look natural, that sort of thing. Oblivion feels like.. you have Floating Camera Syndrome, as if you're disconnected from everything. Animations playing on their own accord regardless of what's happening, very MMO like. It's ugly. I hope Skyrim improves on it big time. But even if it doesn't.. It's Elder Scrolls.. I'm getting it anyway, and I'm going to like it

The animations are much improved and they blend together nicely from what I've seen. There's also a very subtle head bob, I think. Hopefully you can look down and see your legs, and if you can't they should add that feature.

That's normal.
I have difficulty all the way to the left AND godmode on simply because of THAT.

You can see your whole body in Mirror's Edge and Halo, I haven't seen it in anything else.

OFP and Arma as well, though that's not that big of an issue, I don't spend much time looking at myself unless it's A) in a mirror or B) being driven/flown somewhere in Arma

I'm sitting down right now, reclined looking forward. at the edges of my vision I can see my hair, the rims of my glasses, my legs, my stomach, and my chest
[editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
of course I don't want it to go that far, it would just be silly, but some degree of reality emulation would be nice
Aerkhan now properly credited.
So I was looking to preorder this for PC using an Amazon giftcard i got for spending way too much money on my debit card when I realized they're using Games for Windows. Still no news on Steam? I'd rather use that gift card for something else now.
