When I ride the horse in first person in Oblivion it feels like i'm on one of those playmobile horses with the up & down head.

It's not a huge issue but I don't like them locking the view to third person either.

Yeah when I realized no one else said it I felt like a total nerd (and old). Yet I never pay much attention to the lore at all.

Fuck I've only read like 5 books between Morrowind and Oblivion.

I never played Redguard but I heard it had a Dragon that actually talked and a Necromancer Sload.

I think Sload would be a pretty cool monster enemy / NPC in Skyrim but I doubt it will happen. Same with Centaurs.

I didn't like the forced 3rd person in oblivion, having to see myself every time I'm knocked down or getting on/off a horse is really immersion breaking, I don't have an out of body experience every time I fall over or get in my car. This 3rd person horse thing is just yet another minor point against the game, and those are adding up FAST.

Less guilds then ever before.
Less towns/cities
Seeming to be combat focused only.
Gimmicky menu system/additions(forgive me if I'm wrong but did anyone actually want woodcutting minigames and marriage?? what is this fable?)
Still has leveled content.
Less armor slots/no armor health.
They lied about being able to be truly left handed. (big deal for me, I AM left handed)
No spell making.
Yet another "let's save the world!" plot, I'm sorry but this is so fucking boring.
Dragons. Yes dragons, Dragons are the lazy man's fantasy enemy, and having seen the weird monsters of Morrowind I feel they could have done better.
Dual wielding is worthless, you can't block AT ALL, not even any kind of parry, but who need to protect themselves anyway?
No attributes, which are, you know, standard in RPGS, but I forgot, real RPGS are dead, this is a FPS with RPG elements.
The dragonborn is someone who has the soul of a dragon? uh no? past canon(NOT arena, but oblivion so the LAST game) has dragonborn as the bloodlike of the septims, who have dragon BLOOD, not SOULS. Also this is stupid even if it didn't screw with cannon.

I could be wrong but I thought these were not true? There's at least the same amount of guilds as in Oblivion, right? And there's definitely more towns. And I'm pretty sure it's combat/magic/stealth just like the last games, and the leveling is like Fallout 3 (a.k.a. pretty realistic).

I absolutely agree with you on these. Save the world plots are terrible, and are present in literally every RPG these days. I remember the days of Planescape Torment when the plot was entirely character driven (you wake up from the dead and try to piece together your life, and why you were brought back).

In Oblivion I completely ignored the main quest after my first playthrough and made my own stories, pretending it didn't even exist. Hopefully I can do the same in this game.

Oblivion: Fighters, DB, Thieves, Mages. Skyrim has 3 confirmed "guilds" I think(boo hoo one less? although all 4 of those were good...)
