The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim V5: But there is one they fear - Dragon porn!
Armor is now divided in 4: helmet, shirt+pants, gloves, boots.
Acrobatics and Athletics were removed because Bethesda were too freaking lazy to nerf it properly. This means no more jumping across the freaking map.
Why would they even make shirt and pants be fixed as one set?!
They should have merged both athletics and acrobatics.
What is wrong with Bethesda?!
Why would they even make shirt and pants be fixed as one set?!
They should have merged both athletics and acrobatics.
What is wrong with Bethesda?!
their reasoning behind combining greaves/curiass is that:
A. the tops and bottoms of the armours they designed clashed too much or one would end up overtaking or obscuring the other and it looked stupid, and
B. having the main parts of the armour be a single model instead of 2 separate ones makes it easier to model and render and lets them do things like have more NPCs onscreen at once and create more armour varieties overall.
I don't particularly like it but I suppose it makes sense.
As for dropping all these skills..I don't fucking know. It's not even something people were complaining about...
Though I have heard claims that your run speed and jump height are now affected by stuff like how much stamina you have and how high certain skills are and what perks you choose. That could be pretty neat if they pull it off right I guess.
I didn't like the forced 3rd person in oblivion, having to see myself every time I'm knocked down or getting on/off a horse is really immersion breaking, I don't have an out of body experience every time I fall over or get in my car. This 3rd person horse thing is just yet another minor point against the game, and those are adding up FAST.
who cares
Rahkshi, for exemple.
Other people do aswell.
I could care less how many pieces the armor sets are, so long as they look good.
I could care less about acrobatics and athletics, so long as the game is fun without them.
I could care less about essential NPCs, so long as the mod tools are easy to use.
I am however hyped for crafting, and skill progression being more about gameplay changing and less about numbers going up, and fun and interesting combat.
Wait, where did all this info about the Radiant story come from? Who said they removed it and added essential NPC's instead? Where's the source?
The thing about the combined pants and shirts I think is fair. In Oblivion it was too easy not to notice that you weren't wearing any pants, especially because the first armor you get does not include greaves.
The athletics and acrobatics I am happy is gone, they were mostly useless and if you upgraded speed too much, you'll almost just fly all over the place by hitting W one time.
The "no shield in right hand" was first mentioned by a review article after an interview, the reporter may have misunderstood.
Also, someone mentioned less towns/cities. Let me remind you that Skyrim will have 6 mayor cities at the size of the Imperial city.
Less skills then even before Some were cut/merged due to uselessness
Less guilds then ever before. That is just which ones that are confirmed, it isn't all of them
Less towns/citiesBigger cities, no words on towns, but the world will not be filled only by 150 dungeons
Seeming to be combat focused only.Jobs are confirmed, also this is an action rpg firt person game, of course it is a lot of combat
Gimmicky menu system/additions(forgive me if I'm wrong but did anyone actually want woodcutting minigames and marriage?? what is this fable?) I like the menu system, just my opinion
Still has leveled content.I couldn't care less
Less armor slots/no armor health.Durability is a big loss I know, but the repair system weren't that realistic
They lied about being able to be truly left handed. (big deal for me, I AM left handed)Not confirmed, just in an article
No spell making.Spell upgrading is confirmed, but spellcrafting just made you make a lot of over-powered spells for a lot of money that most people cheated to get.
Yet another "let's save the world!" plot, I'm sorry but this is so fucking boring.I actually agree with you on this, but I'm mostly interested in the lore
Dragons. Yes dragons, Dragons are the lazy man's fantasy enemy, and having seen the weird monsters of Morrowind I feel they could have done better.Dragons may be unoriginal, but Bethesda spent a lot of time scripting them, making them awesome and challenging NPCs
Dual wielding is worthless, you can't block AT ALL, not even any kind of parry, but who need to protect themselves anyway? You can still jump away from a sword swing, also successfully blocking with two blades is not possible
No attributes, which are, you know, standard in RPGS, but I forgot, real RPGS are dead, this is a FPS with RPG elements. There is attributes, they are just hidden in the shadow of the perks
The dragonborn is someone who has the soul of a dragon? uh no? past cannon(NOT arena, but oblivion so the LAST game) has dragonborn as the bloodlike of the septims, who have dragon BLOOD, not SOULS. Also this is stupid even if it didn't screw with cannon.Blood can sometimes be metaphoric.
As far as I know it's just people being pessimistic (with good reason)
puss in boots AND turtling the way to victory
where I'm from "turtling" holds a different, less pleasant meaning...
I miss Sheogorath.
I've had Oblivion GOTY for ages now, but I still haven't done Shivering Isles (or Knights of the Nine for that matter). I've started what may very well be my final oblivion play through, and damnit I'm gonna do it this time.

I've only done Shivering Isles once, simply because by the time i "should" be doing it, i have the best equipment in the game and everything is too easy and boring.
who have dragon BLOOD, not SOULS. Also this is stupid even if it didn't screw with cannon.
Yeah screwing with cannons can be dangerous.

The no shield in right hand was confirmed on someones twitter account.
http://www.gamefallout.com/pete-hines-just-tweeted-shields-right-hand-t131129.html
best link I could find, I wasn't just spouting random nonsense people.
[editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
Also note that I didn't say the game was ruined, only that those were issues I had with it that were adding up, I'm sure it will still be an amazingly fun game like Morrowind and Oblivion and that I will sink countless hours into.

Not THAT site again.
It's really not sufficient proof.

People on gamefallout are retarded

This is bullshit. Left handed swordsmen were actually favored in offensive assaults quite often due to how the guard towers were built (going down in a counter-clockwise way) because then they had a bigger area to swing their sword, while right handed people were better at defending FROM the top due to the same thing.

I'm pretty sure Pete Hines said you can equip a sword in your left hand, but you can't equip a shield in your right hand.

They're talking about Pete Hines twitter, I can't find his post on it but I DID see it myself when he made it, why are you so resistant to the truth?
Does anyone recall that challenge Bethesda made to customers that if you happen to give birth to a child on 11/11/11 and named him/her Dovahkiin, you would get a very special reward? Anyone remember?
To get on a different subject slightly, I haven't preordered it yet, and I really don't know if I want to, I got oblivion on day one but this is making me want to wait for actual reviews. What do you guys think? I mean I want the game but I almost always wait for reviews because I can't afford to waste my money on something that might piss me off.

I saw something I can't show anyone, My word is truth.
It might very well be true and i wouldn't be surprised if it was, but please try to be civil about it.
My word is that Pete is a spy from EA trying to ruin TES and Bethesda and make the world a CODfest.
I usually wait until the last week to pre-order something so I have enough information from various gaming communities, and if the bonus content is worth it.

I am being civil, I don't know what you're talking about. Also I am trying to find it.
I am looking for a new card currently to match the rest of my system.
What do you guys reckon would run Skyrim in high settings with good framerates?
(I have an OC'd i7 system)

Pete has been the VP of Bethesda for a long time.
