People on gamefallout are retarded [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] This is bullshit. Left handed swordsmen were actually favored in offensive assaults quite often due to how the guard towers were built (going down in a counter-clockwise way) because then they had a bigger area to swing their sword, while right handed people were better at defending FROM the top due to the same thing. [Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handedness#Advantage_in_combat ]
you do realize gamefallout just scrapes posts from the bethesda forums [editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
I am looking for a new card currently to match the rest of my system. What do you guys reckon would run Skyrim in high settings with good framerates? (I have an OC'd i7 system)
it'll probably run fine on like an 8800GT, I doubt it'll be too demanding [editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
To get on a different subject slightly, I haven't preordered it yet, and I really don't know if I want to, I got oblivion on day one but this is making me want to wait for actual reviews. What do you guys think? I mean I want the game but I almost always wait for reviews because I can't afford to waste my money on something that might piss me off.
this game is basically guaranteed to be great, unless you're a complete faggot that gets pissed off at minor faults or design choices then you'll love it [editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
I'm pretty sure Pete Hines said you can equip a sword in your left hand, but you can't equip a shield in your right hand.
presumably there'll be mods for that, since otherwise it'll be annoying for us pc players having LMB correspond to right hand and RMB correspond to left hand, or not being able to use a shield [editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
My word is that Pete is a spy from EA trying to ruin TES and Bethesda and make the world a CODfest.
you're dumb
this game is basically guaranteed to be great, unless you're a complete faggot that gets pissed off at minor faults or design choices then you'll love it
The fact that it's turning into Dark Messiah/Fable is a rather big deal to me you know.
Who else thinks they'll troll people over wanting to use two shields in Skyrim? I can just imagine seeing a gravestone that reads: "Here lies Shi-uld the Khajiit. He died when trying to fight a dragon with two shields" OR a very old Maiq the liar (people in ES can live to be hundreds of years old if they're wizards or something) calls people wanting to use two shields idiots.
Does anyone recall that challenge Bethesda made to customers that if you happen to give birth to a child on 11/11/11 and named him/her Dovahkiin, you would get a very special reward? Anyone remember?
Who the fuck would name his own child Dovahkiin for a few games ?
Who the fuck would name his own child Dovahkiin for a few games ?
Yeah, and think of the child when he grows up and finds out his parents named him that just for free video games. Why would Bethesda subject a kid to that? He would probably hate his parents and also be made fun of all the time...
Who the fuck would name his own child Dovahkiin for a few games ?
I would name my child Dovahkiin simply to name it Dovahkiin
Well if you live in the north of Europe where everyone has badass weird viking names it would make sense, but imagine, like, a french guy named Dovakhiin. It wouldn't even be pronounced correctly.
I would be so proud to have a son named Dovahkiin
Also he would become like this guy when he grows up (no one will get that joke)
I think a kid named Dovakhiin wouldn't be bad in certain parts of the world, but in America, you know kids would make fun of him. In ten years, he'll be in school with a bunch of kids his age who don't even know what Skyrim is. It would be tantamount to having a kid "Neravarine" now. How many ten year olds do you know that play / have played Morrowind? Not to mention he'll probably have a weird social life as an adult. "Yeah my parents named me after a video game character so they could get free games for life around 20 years ago." But there are worse named kids. Whether you like the name or not is irrelevant, naming your kid Dovakhiin just to get free video games is cruel and selfish. And a bit too fanboyish. EDIT: At any rate, I think it would be more of a novelty name, one you'd probably kick yourself for naming your child anyway. It would have made more sense to give free games for life to diehard fans that legally changed their names to Dovakhiin.

(Haven't finished any of them) So yeah, your opinion isn't the same as mine [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] I come from Norway though, we're kinda cool with our names and such
Or name your kid Septim or something. A bit more discrete than dovakhiin. Also in America most kids with unusual names end up committing a crime at least once according to statistics.
HAhaha what [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] I didn't know that

And I wouldn't want the attention of FF7 fanboys. They act scary enough online, I don't even want to know what they're like in real life. Naming your kid Dovakhiin would probably be ok in a foreign nation I guess though. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
Or name your kid Septim or something. Wouldn't you guys be angry? Lets put it into perspective. Your parents named you "Stegosaurus" to get free tickets for life to a Dinosaur museum. >Implying you seriously want to be named after a Dinosaur
And that's why you shouldn't name your kid retarded shit.
Reminds me of that one guy who named his own kid Courage Wolf. Though I gotta admit being named Wolf is kinda cool. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] Also Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda.
Reminds me of that one guy who named his own kid Courage Wolf. Though I gotta admit being named Wolf is kinda cool. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] Also Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda.
Zelda is an actual name, though. And so is Zenobia.
To be honest Courage and Wolf are both okay names. Better than being called Pnsndltsn at least.
Whatabout ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
Why don't they just name their child Dovahkiin for laughs, fame and the reward then rename it.
Why would Bethesda subject a kid to that? He would probably love his parents and also get blowjobs all the time...
Fixed.
Fixed.
Yeah, because girls love gamers amirite?
Yeah, because girls love gamers amirite?
Quite a lot do now-a-days. Anyway, who said anything about girls?
Use it as a middle name, problem solved. I mean, imagine, first day of school, teacher calls attendance: "William Olsen Lisa Turner Bob DOVAKHIIIIIIIIIIN Wilson." and then the theme plays.
Well if you live in the north of Europe where everyone has badass weird viking names it would make sense, but imagine, like, a french guy named Dovakhiin.
I tried saying it with a Norwegian accent and in a Norwegian sentence. Neither of which sounded any good.
Dovakin Works imo "Hallo, Dovakin, hvordan har du det?" Fuck I hate Norwegian it sounds so silly
HAhaha what [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] I didn't know that
http://www.stuff.co.nz/oddstuff/2595831/Odd-names-turn-boys-bad
Boys growing up with popular names such as Michael, Joshua and Christopher have a good chance of leading law-abiding lives - but those named Kareem, Walter or Ivan could find themselves on the wrong side of the law.

Yeah, because girls love gamers amirite?
You never know. Societal views could change massively in 20 years or so. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
http://www.stuff.co.nz/oddstuff/2595831/Odd-names-turn-boys-bad
Does it note what socio-economic group the boys came from? Because if it doesn't the whole thing is invalid.
You never know. Societal views could change massively in 20 years or so.
Yes, but in that time, the most popular video game ever would be called "CoD: Modern Warfare 13"
The fact that it's turning into Dark Messiah/Fable is a rather big deal to me you know.
are you blind
