http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/109378-Bethesda-Wants-Skyrim-Mods-on-Consoles
They're not getting mods for free, that's for sure, unless Bethesda is willing to pay for every download (on the Xbox atleast). But I don't care about that, what got to me was this: "We'd like to see it happen," he said. "Because it works, it's how we made the game. I think it's something really cool about what we do, but 90% of our audience is on the consoles, so 90% of our audience can't even see this thing. So if we can solve that we'd like to." What the heck? Isn't the sole reason the series is popular the PC? I never heard of any Elder Scrolls game of being particularly popular on the consoles.
This is what I hate about microsoft. They made usb drives compatibles with one of the updates, but there's barely anything good you can put on them. I love the xbox, but damn microsoft is annoying. Not as annoying as Nintendo and their policy of pissing third party off from day one, but still pretty fucking annoying.
Guys if consoles get mods what do we got to brag about. Except the furry, anime and sex mods but they don't count.
Why furry mods if they have goddamned Khajiit and Argonians already?
Because they are not kawaii enough. They want either big boobed anime chicks with cat ears, or krystal.
Don't forget the anime/manga/hentai "outfits", you gotta have anime/manga/hentai "outfits"
What the heck? Isn't the sole reason the series is popular the PC? I never heard of any Elder Scrolls game of being particularly popular on the consoles.
Yeah, everybody I know who owns an elderscrolls game has it for the PC. Also, Why is there still no video of jumping animations?! Couldn't the guy in the video (two pages ago, or something) jump once? I'm just curious :v:
Please accept the fact that not everyone wants too/can play on a PC.
Please don't tell me someone still believes controllers can hold a candle to a mouse and keyboard. However I will say that some games are better with controllers, like Fighting games and maybe some third person adventure games. And why would no one WANT to play on PC? I can understand if money is tight, but its going to be the superior version. It will have pretty much better...everything, and you can play it with a 360 controller if you just HAD to play it with one.
Bethesda studied the question of modding on ps3/360 via downloading from PC (usb hard drives and shit), but apparently they gave up when Sony and Microsoft decided to be total dicks and forbid them to do so.
Suddenly, a part of the game getting pulled back that can't be added with mods. Are you sure they both applied negative? I guess Microsoft would require some kind of "we-want-all-your-money"-solution, but I don't think Sony would use the same approach. Through, if it would be added, I'm guessing it will use some kind of special USB device that you can buy in stores that only use special .vpk-like files, because other files will be used to jailbreak or in any other way hack the console. Or they could use an online download system like ps3 store, but the servers may have to be Bethesda's. Also, on the topic of ps3 store/download systems; If anyone knows, what happened to steam for ps3? I heard you could get it if you bought Portal 2 for ps3, but I think that may just be like a "beta key" feature.
In my opinion it will just be something like, you put the .esp with the meshes, textures and other folders in your usb drive, you plug the drive in your console, you tell skyrim to use that drive as the mod folder, and you tick the data files as usual. But that would still make some mods impossible, given a skyrim script extender will have to exist (which isn't sure)
I'm guessing "Deadly reflexes: Skyrim" would be one of the impossible ones due to additional key bindings.
It looks like Skyrim pretty much already includes all of Deadly Reflexes' features, like the shield bash, finishes moves and stealth kills.
I don't think the consoles will ever get mods. For one thing the console fans should be glad that they got a game as good looking as Skyrim on the 360. And even still I noticed horrendous FPS dips and screen tearing in the demo videos. When you get instant gratification hardware and software, you should expect instant gratification quality. If you think you "Deserve" mods and you have the console version, you are a whiny baby. If they did get mods, it would be ultra basic stuff. And don't even THINK about the possibility of mods that "Make the graphics better" because it will fry your 360. There are no if, ands, or buts about that. You might be able to tweak the graphics down to get better FPS rates though but thats it. I think if Microsoft allowed the 360 to have mods, it would be handled as DLC, and probably have a list of top 50 Nexus mods that you can download for $1.99 each. And they couldn't have script extenders or anything. Only basic BASIC mods. You all know it to be true.
Replaying morrowind again, I fucking hate the combat. On the bright side, I don't have to jump around like a spastic retard because I got 2400 acrobatics.
When I first played Morrowind on the original xbox, I couldn't hit shit. Would try to be a marksman and that was practically impossible on earlier levels. For the jumping, I'd always steal that super jump scroll from the dude that falls out of the sky right outside the first town, then try to land in a lake in some far away town when I took my turn at it. Ah Morrowind, you so crazy. And woo for tail swaying animations in skyrim (Albeit still looking a bit stiff)
What the hell man? It's frikkin' chocolate milk, you're never to old for Chocolate milk. Also good luck bringing your powder chocolate milk to school.
God damn you guys have no sense of humor what the fuck happened to facepunch. STOP TAKING ME SO SERIOUSLY
What the heck? Isn't the sole reason the series is popular the PC? I never heard of any Elder Scrolls game of being particularly popular on the consoles.
Oblivion.
God damn you guys have no sense of humor what the fuck happened to facepunch. STOP TAKING ME SO SERIOUSLY
You're pretty good at pretending to be an idiot.
Today after class I was walking around and noticed by the door of one of our buildings there was a sign posted listing the schedule for the football team. The first few were scrimmage games against more local teams. Is it bad that I read "scrim" as Skyrim when I first looked at it? It wasn't exactly the smallest print either.. lol
You're pretty good at pretending to be an idiot.
I'm not trolling, why do people always think I'm trolling? I remember when you were able to say things on the internet and not be accused of being a troll if you make a joke.
Is it bad that I read "scrim" as Skyrim when I first looked at it? It wasn't exactly the smallest print either.. lol
No, it just means you are ready...
I'm not trolling, why do people always think I'm trolling? I remember when you were able to say things on the internet and not be accused of being a troll if you make a joke.
You were making fun of someone personally. Thats pretty troll-ish. Just look this up: http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/evilclown.htm "Evil Clown is very quick with a joke, but his jests always have a barb. He has little patience for in-depth discussions and will often disrupt exchanges between serious forum participants by introducing irrelevant topics, fatuous quips, and offhand comments. His greatest thrill is to taunt and humiliate weaker or more plodding Warriors with his snappy ripostes. Not a particularly powerful Warrior, Evil Clown will attempt to avoid defeat by accusing his attacker of having no sense of humor." That fits you to a T.

That fits you to a T.
No, no it doesn't, in the last day I have made two posts that are jokes, and like 10 that are discussing the game's features. And I'm not trying to hurt anyone, I figured you guys would understand it was a JOKE. and I said you have no sense of humor cause you were all taking what I said so seriously. Do not respond to this, I will not continue this conversation as it has no reason to go on and will only make me look like I'm defending myself, so I'm sorry for my bad attempts at humor and I'm sorry if I hurt anyone, it was not my intention.
You better beable to go all the way south in Skyrim and look into Cyrodiil
Here's a challenge. Once you get the game, go all the way south in skyrim, take a screenshot of Cyrodiil the same way An Armed Bear did, and add a REMEMBER. caption above the character.

Start a video with your character running towards the border, smashing it with a hammer, then shatter transition into your character in Skyrim standing in the same spot.
Even better. Start a video with your character running towards the border, smashing it with a hammer, then shatter transition into your character in Skyrim standing in the same spot.
I really like that idea actually, I might do that.
October is going to be a bitch, why couldn't I have been born November 11th instead of October 11th?
I born on Friday the 13th of October
Even better. Start a video with your character running towards the border, smashing it with a hammer, then shatter transition into your character in Skyrim standing in the same spot.
Looks into Reflection. "I... AM.... BEAUTIFUL."
