hey, i dug oblivion's lockpicking minigame :saddowns:
It was tedious at times, but then you do Nocturnal's quest and receive the Skeleton Key it all becomes moot.
Could you imagine a game like this being leaked? Oh god, EVERYTHING would be spoiled, because lets face it, at this point what they have is what they are sticking to for the game, they are in polishing stage now.
I didn't mean the game being leaked, although that can happen too. I meant more like the lock picking images that were posted above. [editline]16th September 2011[/editline]
It was tedious at times, but then you do Nocturnal's quest and receive the Skeleton Key it all becomes moot.
It wouldn't be that bad if Nocturnal's quest wasn't piss easy.
Why do so many of you prefer FO3's lockpicking? I mean, with the Oblivion one you actually did something and had a good chance of failure, especially with harder locks. In FO3 it's pretty much just "this place? nope. this? nope. this? [repeat]", and it's very difficult to break the lockpick with that.

I at least hope they will not include the "your skill is not high enough for this lock" from FO3.
"double clicky noise? nope. double clicky noise? nope. double clicky noise? [repeat]"
Even so, with hard locks there are five chances to fail that and you can work with visual aid too, not just by listening to the clicks. In FO3 the visual side of the lockpicking is very limited (which is "realistic" in the way that you can't really squeeze your head into the lock while picking, but still). Plus I discovered that "double click" technique quite late, so I never really used it in Oblivion. Not that that would make it any different.

Also I think that the interiors are going to be a big star in this game. I've been totally blown away by all of them, so far :v
Collect major quantities of lockpicks Start picking a very hard lock Mash the "force lock" until shit opens up like magic
exactly, it was relatively brief unlike oblivion which went on for ages
But gathering lockpicks had exactly no meaning in FO3. They weren't some resource you'd need to get more. In Oblivion, there actually was a point in having 20 of them instead of 2. However, I agree with you on the fact that a brief lockpicking minigame might be better than a long one. Still, I feel like it should have something more to it than "try this, move, try this, move".
Maybe it's just because I'm shit, but I still lost lockpicks in FO3.
I never did. Ever. Not a single one
I just watched the trailer, and HOLY SHIT
FUS RO DAH
Damn it! I've been invited to a birthday party the day this comes out. DAMN YOU SOCIAL LIFE.
Damn it! I've been invited to a birthday party the day this comes out. DAMN YOU SOCIAL LIFE.
Skyrim is your social life now.
Damn it! I've been invited to a birthday party the day this comes out. DAMN YOU SOCIAL LIFE.
Don't go Skyrim is your number one priority.
Damn it! I've been invited to a birthday party the day this comes out. DAMN YOU SOCIAL LIFE.
Go to the birthday party. Bring Skyrim. Instantly most popular guy at party.
Go to the birthday party. Bring Skyrim. Instantly most popular guy at party.
suuure depends on the people in the party tho
Damn it! I've been invited to a birthday party the day this comes out. DAMN YOU SOCIAL LIFE.
Fuck that shit.
Damn it! I've been invited to a birthday party the day this comes out. DAMN YOU SOCIAL LIFE.
Pfft, social lives are overrated. Skyrim is more important.
go to the party you can play skyrim later maybe you will score a nice girl even ;)
go to the party you can play skyrim later maybe you will score a nice girl even ;)
But real girls can't dragon shout or dual wield, and most of them don't have beards.
But real girls can't dragon shout or dual wield, and most of them don't have beards.
I know a girl that has to shave her upper lip. And her arms are pretty beefy I'm sure she could dual weild. Bitch still doesn't know the language of the Dragons though, otherwise I'd marry her on the spot.

Guys after a long hard think, I've decided I shall attend the party, however I have had a long search through my "party wardrobe" and decided I will be wearing this attire to said party.

Very easy : splinter cell like game where you just mash W/S/A/D until it unlocks Easy/Medium : fo3 like minigame Hard/Very hard : oblivion like minigame
http://www.examiner.com/console-gaming-in-national/bethesda-talks-npc-voice-actors-skyrim-and-ps3-graphics ...Fuck.
Whats wrong with that? Graphics don't make the game.
http://www.examiner.com/console-gaming-in-national/bethesda-talks-npc-voice-actors-skyrim-and-ps3-graphics ...Fuck.
The more I see of this game, the more I want to buy it for PS3. Sure it will not include mods, but I guess my laptop will not be able to run this anyway. :v: Even if the PC version will be almost just like a crappy port.
Whats wrong with that? Graphics don't make the game.
I never said they did. However, now that you mention it, they are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for immersion in an RPG. Having the graphics look exactly the same as 10 year old hardware on a modern 2011 PC is unacceptable.
