Also, It's technically not cloth... it's just not that cheap plastic like paper that the other maps are made from.
“The map is a high-grade material that has a feel similar to burlap, and will be available in North America and Europe”
errr no
the preorder comes with a cloth map

It's not just preorder though, it's every copy that came in the first batch. Preorder or not.
No, it comes with a "Premium Map" which the community has assumed will be cloth. The quote I posted is from Bethesda official Nick Breckon and was actually part of the announcement statement for the map.
Besides burlap is more or less a cloth, and it feels like burlap so close enough.
I wish the Special Edition had something better than a dragon statue to be honest.

errr no, todd howard confirmed cloth.
I always thought it would've been a great idea to procedurally variate the size of creatures, and proportionally change their HP and damage dealt. For example, mud crabs small enough that you could step on one and kill it, while there is one so big that it could hack a limb off. You could have different sized frost trolls, spiders, etc. It might create some kind of competitive play where players hunt down the biggest monster they can find, and post it online. You could make the biggest ones extremely rare.
This is a pretty great idea, could it be modded in somehow?

I'm a sucker for hats

You should try TF2!
I just found out that Skyrim is region blocked in Russia. And we won't even get to play in english, I am very disappointed with that.

If you insist on still arguing with me on this, let's get another Bethesda official in on this.
The following is a Twitter conversation between a couple of Twitter users and Pete Hines VP of PR and Marketing at Bethesda...
"@DCDeacon Amazon.co.uk says that it is clarifying whether it will have the cloth map but Ive already preordered. Will it?"
"@DannyFirs All initial shipments have one, so they should."
"@DannyFirs And, it's not cloth."
"@DCDeacon Didn't Todd Howard say in a podcast that the map for the pre-orders would be ''A cloth map with a similar feel to burlap''?"
"@lolzz19 It feels like burlap, but it isn't technically cloth. That's all I meant."
This hardly seems like something we should be arguing about, all I'm saying is although it feels like burlap, it's not really cloth.
They used a synthetic material because cloth gets damaged and fades over time. They didn't want that to happen.
The game will be localized by a company "1C" or "1 Ass" as we call it and they always make a poor job at voice acting.

wait, so you cant play it except in russian?
haha, no memorable quotes for you.

I appreciate the sympathy.

Real hats, my good sir. A virtual hat does not enhance my stature sufficiently.
(that was the joke though)
This is a pretty great idea, could it be modded in somehow?
Sure it can.
Just need to find someone willing to do it.
Bethesda said the cloth map is coming with ALL games shipped in the first batch.
It's not a store by store basis, if you buy Skyrim early and get one of the first batch of games you will get the cloth map.
Could I please get the source for this? It's not that I don't believe you, I'd just like to include a source in my next e-mails. I wanna be 100% sure before I preorder
Just preordered my copy on Steam today.
Too bad I didn't get the Dragonborn Helmet in TF2...

This kind of thing has happened with other companies too. The pre-order bonuses are stuck in some of the older cases, I got an Epic Edition Bulletstorm and Special Edition Crysis 2 and I didn't pre-order them. Not to mention getting the pre-order armor in my Fallout New Vegas case which I reordered a month ago.
I missed a page on the OXM article.

Commander Shepard, welcome!
That iron warhammer looks like nothing to fuck with.
That's one badass looking orc.

I suppose what was posted at the top of the page would be the best source.

Mart's Monster Mod does something like that for Oblivion. I don't think it makes any changes to damage or HP, but I know there's a plugin that makes all the creatures in the game different sizes.
Those tiny little wolves were so cute until I hacked them to pieces.
I like how the warhammer actually looks like it could do some damage this time. The warhammers in oblivion where too big and soft looking.

OK really TESNexus, what the actual fuck.
To those of you who can't see it/don't want to click on the link, it's a mod called "Hot Pregnant Elves"
:suicide:
