I wish I had more nerd friends, I know one other guy thats a big Elder scrolls fan, all my other friends either don't play video games or only play COD and the latest FIFA game.
My friends and I are all coming back from college for thanksgiving break. We told each other that it's nothing personal, but we probably wont go hang out much. It's Skyrim time.

Yes... Yes it is. in many states. You can get in trouble for it and most stores simply won't even take it accompanied by banning you.
Private transactions are a different matter entirely though.
It's mostly a matter of the views of who you're trying to sell it to.
It also depends on what the item is, some is legal some isn't.

At least one of those lines (the one about the sex slave) was from one of the in-game books in Morrowind and Oblivion (It was the one with the guy whose conversations always go in Alphabetical order), so I wouldn't get TOO excited about it.
