So, what do they do after that? Run away? Or can you force them to be your companion?
You can marry them. :v:
Anyway, to all you that played Skyrim in those exhibitions, perks! Also, I'd name my character something that would fit the lore. I guess I'll just use a name generator.
That's great news, means we can probably just ignore the main quest entirely.
...An then, dragons burned down the land of Skyrim and Alduin consumed the world, all because the hero didn't give a fuck.

Well when playing as a khajiit you can probably use something barbed on them if you know what i mean
I always thought it was unrealistic how NPCs were all foolhardy idiots and would try to kill you, so I like the idea of them begging for mercy. I have OCD though so I'll probably end up killing them for their gear.
I would like dialog options for them.
"Take off all your clothes and give them to me"
"W...why..."
"SO I CAN SELL THEM LOLOL"
Well, you can steal peoples clothes and weapons in Skyrim anyway.
Went to one of the HMV's down here after hearing they did a midnight release for GoW3. I asked if they would be doing one for Skyrim. The guy stared at me blankly for a second before asking his collegue. He then turned to me and said "Skyrim's big, but not that big."
All of my rage.
Would an character specialised on Heavy Shields and a one hand Blunt weapon tank alike be interesting? I can't decide how to play this game..
I also don't like how weak the bow shooting "looks" again, he was in a stealthy position on that demo video and shot the arrow but it didnt really got that punching strong feel, can someone disprove me on that?
Also I could not catch up on information, is there an full skill tree online? So you can look what weapon types and all that get when getting better at it.
I want to know one thing.
Can I specialise in being a dude with holds a shield in one hand and punches shit with the other?
[sp]No, It's not a real question.[/sp]
Behold! The Stone of Akatosh!

No, really, let me explain properly for a second:
Once upon a time, like 5 years ago, I went to a shop that sold stones and candles in various forms. They sold a lot of gemstones that were really expensive too. (It later burned down for unknown reasons.)
In that shop, there was this chest filled with polished small not-so-expensive but shiny and nice looking stones. They sold plastic bags for a price of $15, those plastic bags you were allowed to fill with stones from that chest. Many of them were of the sort Tiger's Eye. Since there was very many to choose from, I just filled my small plastic bag with a random selection of and went home.
When I got home, I noticed the front side of one of the stones. It had a dragon on it.
It
Had
A
Fucking
DRAGON
on it
The dragon can be seen on the backside of the stone as well, but mirrored and very distorted because of the uneven surface on that side.
If anything, it's evidence enough for that it's not painted on or carved in.
But there's more!
This rock kind of implies a symbolic meaning. Think about it. A dragon on a stone under the name of "Tiger's Eye".
I mean, see this shit?

As we all know it, the Yin-Yang symbol. The white side representing a dragon and the black side representing a tiger. It symbolizes "balance of power". [source]
So what do you think FP? Do I have the best stone on the planet? Well, I don't think so but it's quite special I must say.
Why do I post this in the Skyrim thread? Well because it's a fucking DRAGON and the official dragon thread I will never touch again ever

Sucks to be you brother, try a different store because they seem to be retarded. Skyrim definitely IS that big. All of the stores that I know of here in the states are doing midnight releases. They'd be fools not to.
think i should post Eurogamer demo thoughts
played using 360
guards say "stop right there" but i didnt hear any criminal scup
lokpicking is kinda odd, its gone fallout style but theres two things poking into the keyhole instead of one. you move one around till it allows easy movement of another
the stealth icon (eye thing that replaces crosshair) has been improved. begins as a flat line, as enemies begin to realise where you are it starts to open.
no dragons in the demo sadly, or dragon shouts
the atmosphere created is amazing, both seeing and hearing a snowstorm as you climb mountains is perfectly done
reading books increases your skills again
water is far improved
theres no more glitchy walking up the side of a mountain like in oblivion
no hint towards the story was given in the demo, however it seems the dragons are seen as a bit of a myth at the start, some NPC's say they saw one whilst others refuse to believe and call them crazy
killed a roaming friendly hunters dog....hunter was not pleased
all items can be viewed and rotated in the menu with brilliant detail
found a fireplace with cooking pot hanging above it, when using the pot it gave me an alchemy type menu with requirements needed to make food such as bread and soup
the character creator is massively improved over oblivion, options for facepaint on all races with a multitude of colours is a good addition
on the first loading screen there was a quote from the dark brotherhood referring to the night mother
the way the map works is a nice touch but i couldnt help but think it was far smaller than oblivion
enemies can be left to your mercy if their the last left in their group/taken enough damage, physically kneeling down and begging to be spared
no 2 people sounded alike
spriggans are really annoying
giants are bloody powerfull
theres a run button this time, you cant run whilst stealthing you can still jump whilst stealthing though
pickpocketing seems to work the same as fallout
argonians have a unique racial spell which lets them rapidly recover health over a short time
mudcrabs are slightly bigger and look marginally more menacing
think thats all
if any of this is late then im sorry, havent been following details as announced
Fallout's was exactly like that.
Fallout's was exactly like that.
I thought about that when I read it too :v:
Enemies now fall to their feet and beg for life? holy crap! this just gets better! i love it when they do that in games
no in fallout you rotate a single lockpick, skyrims one had something a bit different.....its annoying to explain and you'll probably see it in a gameplay video very soon anyway
I can't decide how to play this game...
That's why I already scribbled down about six different characters to play as.
Each one of them has an alignment (good, neutral, bad); questing style (main, minor, free-flowing); end goal (wealth, do good, kill everyone) and general personality. I doubt I'll play the game back-to-back six times, but I'm ready for every rerun.
Fallout's was exactly like that.
oh so skyrim is just bethesda sneaking in another fallout installment
i wonder if the ncr finally evicts the legion from skyrim
There's always been something on my mind.
Assuming you can become a werewolf, what would happen if you play as a Khajiit class?

Yes, but did you never notice the screwdriver that turned the lock?

the mouse controls the pick, the directional buttons control if the screwdriver moves or not.
looks more like real lockpicking, actually
Over here the University only allows Steam between the hours of 7pm-7am. Would I be better off buying it retail? Steam offline mode isn't working for me at all, so I doubt I would be able to play it at any other time.

Skyrim is Steamworks
Nevermind, I discovered that the last steam update broke offline mode for most people and I've discovered the solution. Now I just need to survive alone until November.
Some Eurogamer footage:

My first character is going to be a Nordic Paladin/Knight, as I've never played either character archetype before (I tend to love mages and theives).
Not sure the name yet, but he's basically going to someone who belonged to an old tribe of nords in a different provence, before making a journy for an undetermined reason away from his tribe into the Skyrim homelands before he gets imprisoned for crossing the border (per how the game starts).
He ends up finding himself trapped in skyrim and takes a holy fight against the evils of the land, particularly the undead as he eventually dons his sword and sheild in the name for all that is pure :3
Hates magic, as it is defiling of the natural forces of the world, but will use restoration (or "holy magic"), mostly in the form of enchantments or scrolls.
Yep :v:
