Hey, hey, where are all the British voice actors? I know it was the same with Oblivion, but American voices just sort of kill the mood when it comes to medieval games. Especially when you hear some Texan accent coming from a peasant.
I recall one dark elf woman, when she introduced herself she sounded a bit like she was from New Jersey.
I may be late but does this look like a pauldron to anyone else?
I really doubt it. I heard once that they merged chest pieces and leggings together, but another gameplay video I saw was showing otherwise. Either way, I doubt they're going back to the complexity Morrowind had.
My scanner isn't working :C
Bethesda had to disable the radiant AI mostly because it worked and it worked bit too well. Like for example people would actually go out and grow/buy their food if they were hungry. The problem is what happens when they run out of food on stores. The people with no food would be going around killing people who have food, prisoner guards for example couldn't really go to stores so when they ran out of food they went into the cells and killed the prisoners to get food. It must have been fucking awesome but if you wanted a proper game then yeah..
That does sound fucking awesome. Why can't they just have an unlimited or a high number of food for NPCs, but a limited number of coins? If their upkeep is greater than their income then they would go into a life of crime and you would see the lower class mugging the higher class.

and if they set it right in skyrim, it should work just fine.

I just pre-orded the PC version for myself and a late birthday present (xbox 360 version) for my friend! He still thinks I forgot his birthday, which was in late august! :v: A grand total of 148 U.S. dollars from my own pocket. I am going to be poor this year.
The image was made before the altmer screenshots were released iirc [editline]26th September 2011[/editline] I'm not sure if any of it's been posted yet, but the concept art on the wiki is amazing. Man, I've had $5 down on Skyrim for a week because no money, but today I was in a "fuck it" mood and finished paying. Maybe now I can sleep!
Never changing my wallpaper again.
What about if a "TES VI: (Title)" comes out?

One of the quests couldn't be completed because the person you needed to see was in prison and every time the character got there, he would be dead. The devs finally figured out that the prison guard would kill the prisoner for food. So it's no wonder why they had to cut back the Radiant AI. It's a good idea and it's good that Bethesda at least tried to implement it into their beta. But it only prevented the game from continuing quests.
How does Todd have the guts to lie like this? Pretty much EVERYTHING he says in this video is complete and utter bullshit Makes me wonder how much of the Skyrim features are actually in the game.
Yeah. That was a dick move on their part. It seems like they're keeping their traps shut on most features so gamers will be pleasantly surprised, especially PC gamers. I have a feeling PC gamers will be very surprised with how the graphics turn out...anyways, the only thing I'm ultra skeptical on are the Dragons. I have a feeling Dragons only spawn in pre-determined places and respawn. I don't think they'll fly out of nowhere like in the demo. So my hopes for that are low. I'm just glad the game has Dragons though, and if they spawned EVERYWHERE they might be a boss type version of Cliff racers with fire breath. I could go either way on this really.
It's a good idea and it's good that Bethesda at least tried to implement it into their beta. But it only prevented the game from continuing quests.
Was this before or after they implemented the "important-NPC" variable? (that made them fall unconcious instead of dying).
If they took the time to set up a proper economy, it would have worked.
This, honestly. If there isn't enough for the NPCs that they started breaking the game then they weren't being provided with enough/a self-sustaining amount. What were the legitimate problems besides "not enough time"?
Honestly, the only things I'm skeptical about is Dragons (Which will still probably be awesome and I'm too much of an easily-pleased nerd to care about how dynamic and unscripted they really are) and the whole in-game economy thing. I don't doubt that there will be some sort of economical system, but it just seems a bit overhyped. Not as much as Radiant AI or that kind of shit, but certainly not as fleshed-out as they're trying to lead people to believe. Otherwise, most of the stuff they've hyped is pretty plausible when it comes to modern, high-budget games like this. The only real reason a lot of the stuff that was in the Oblivion previews wasn't in the main game was time constraints and technical limitations, and therefore the main flaw was that they tried too hard to do too much with too little time and too few resources, and everything felt thinly-spread and poorly executed. Now, Bethesda has a bigger budget, larger staff, better technical understanding, less technical limitations, more time and more experience in general, so it's a lot more likely a lot of the stuff that they say will be in the game will actually be in the game. They also don't seem to be trying to make a big leap in technological advancement like they did in Oblivion, where they tried to revolutionize basically everything. Also, I don't think there's nearly as much unreasonable hype for the game as there was for Oblivion.
I wouldn't say worked too well, that gives them credit they don't deserve. They just designed it badly.
It actually did work too well, but it required an active economy which they were too lazy to make for oblivion. So they snipped it out. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] my guess

But it seems to confirm MUDCRABS!
All hype yet seen for Skyrim seems right, since all the things that were shown werent simply overtalked and said "to be bigger and cooler" they have been kind of shown in videos and information. This will be good just like oblivion was for it's time it just got dragged because of the years that have gone by. I hope there will be some glitchy animations or ragdolls because all my loud laughing moments consist of these in all games :v:
images I find it funny though how the PC gamer one will get published December 2011. But it seems to confirm MUDCRABS!
Wait what, I got that pc gamer issue today..
Wait what, I got that pc gamer issue today..
Wait, what does the "Number 220, DEC 2011" next to the barcode thingy mean then?
I guess that is just the edited version, a mistake on who ever made the picture, i'm subscribed to PCG and have the plain cover, I can take a picture if you like?
Please tell me these places are actually going to be in the game.
They will be, the image on the left is bleak falls barrow and the image on the right is a word wall. Keep in mind however, that it's concept art and probably won't look that good.
To all of you that were disappointed for the lack of functions in Oblivion and begin to question Dragon appearances: Bethesda now has more developers. Before their team was consistent of only a few people, so they simply didn't have time to fix the problems with the radiant AI with only a few scripters that had to finish other, more important functions. On the scripters side, the game was technically rushed out, the game had a lot of bugs on release and they were later fixed in patches. Also, they were new to getting so popular, they just saved their asses with Morrowind from ending up getting broke. When Morrowind became popular, they began on Oblivion which got a lot of hype, where they were ahead of time on the graphics, but behind the schedule on the coding. Also, can anyone remember any promised functions which weren't added to Fallout 3? Anyway, they will do better on Skyrim, I don't know if they'll re-implement radiant AI, but Dragons will appear as promised. Through, if there are anything that may not come in the final game, it may be the necromancers' restruction spell (where they wake up fallen allies).

So basically you guys are nitpicking at a game for no reason, cool.
I'm going to try and mess up the Thieves Guild.
I'm going to try and mess up the Thieves Guild.
I wonder how the Thieves Guild is going to work? Not sure how it was in Morrowind (did Morrowind even have a Thieve's Guild?), but who would be the "Gray Fox"?
I wonder how the Thieves Guild is going to work? Not sure how it was in Morrowind (did Morrowind even have a Thieve's Guild?), but who would be the "Gray Fox"?
There doesn't have to be a gray fox just because the game has a thieves guild.
There doesn't have to be a gray fox just because the game has a thieves guild.
True, but IF they wanted to include the Grey Fox again, it's 200 years in the future so there could be a new owner of the cowl.
