I wonder how the Thieves Guild is going to work? Not sure how it was in Morrowind (did Morrowind even have a Thieve's Guild?), but who would be the "Gray Fox"?
Morrowind had a Thieves Guild. Oblivion's "Grey Fox" was only the leader of the Cyrodiil chapter of the faction. It's not actually a rank. Anyway, I'm just going to go find them and start breaking their necks. Since they're technically criminals, and most likely in some underground hideout, I'm sure the guards won't mind.
After reading all that radiant AI stuff for Oblivion, wouldn't half of those problems be solvable but just giving some actions a "crime" attribute, and making some NPCs never commit crimes, some who would and that no one can commit crimes on quest characters?
Honestly, the only things I'm skeptical about is Dragons (Which will still probably be awesome and I'm too much of an easily-pleased nerd to care about how dynamic and unscripted they really are) and the whole in-game economy thing. I don't doubt that there will be some sort of economical system, but it just seems a bit overhyped. Not as much as Radiant AI or that kind of shit, but certainly not as fleshed-out as they're trying to lead people to believe. Otherwise, most of the stuff they've hyped is pretty plausible when it comes to modern, high-budget games like this. The only real reason a lot of the stuff that was in the Oblivion previews wasn't in the main game was time constraints and technical limitations, and therefore the main flaw was that they tried too hard to do too much with too little time and too few resources, and everything felt thinly-spread and poorly executed. Now, Bethesda has a bigger budget, larger staff, better technical understanding, less technical limitations, more time and more experience in general, so it's a lot more likely a lot of the stuff that they say will be in the game will actually be in the game. They also don't seem to be trying to make a big leap in technological advancement like they did in Oblivion, where they tried to revolutionize basically everything. Also, I don't think there's nearly as much unreasonable hype for the game as there was for Oblivion.
Dragons are for more easily implemented than you think, the problem is how they will work with their economy they're saying they have.
So basically you guys are nitpicking at a game for no reason, cool.
Have you been on facepunch, like, ever? Also, I can't decide, I want to play as a stealth archer kinda guy, but I also think it would be wrong to not play as a badass nord that just whacks everyone to death. I guess I'll eventually do both but still.
I was away for about a day playing Fallout, come back and suddenly it's the Bethesda Forums where everybody just complains about everything. V:v:V
Dragons are for more easily implemented than you think, the problem is how they will work with their economy they're saying they have.
shit that would be terrible but also cool if a dragon came by and burned all the crops and shit and quest characters starved to death
I don't understand how the Dragons will act; lore wise Dragons took to hiding in abandoned mines or small populated villages where they could swoop down and steal a cow or something. Since they're apparently taking over the world I'd assume their goal would be hitting major centers of industry and trade rather than running around like retards.
Christopher Plummer in Skyrim? Hells yeah. Loved him in Star Trek!
Ooh, is that new PC gamer magazine out yet? New Skyrim info is like crack to me. Or at least someone post some scans. I posted some scans from MY magazine! :P

Excluding that one scan that was terrible quality. Coincidence? I think not.
I'll scan the lot tomorrow. [editline]28th September 2011[/editline] Hopefully.
I am very very very late on watching skyrim gameplay and I just jizzed at 2:19 There is nothing I love more than combat animations [editline]34[/editline] Ok, nevermind. I jizzed about 5 more times after I finished watching the video
Ok, nevermind. I jizzed about 5 more times after I finished watching the video
Try not to hit 42.

These dragons are merely servant angel things in the form of dragons who serve Alduin, the Nordic interpretation of Akatosh.
These dragons are different from the other dragons. They're not some sort of Angels, they're just a race of regular Black Dragons that serve Alduin. And they are sentient, so I'd assume they'd be fairly smart.
They're not some sort of Angels, they're just a race of regular Black Dragons that serve Alduin. I'm saying that's my problem with the dragons. They're not mindless idiots, so if they're all serving Alduin why would they head to random villages and attack there?

(The Nords assume he wants to destroy everything but he's an Aedra so I'm not sure why he would, that's normally Daedra business.) The other Dragons are just flying around having some fun, killing some dudes, catching shit on fire, etc. I'm sure there will be a change in their demeanor as you progress, but they just came back from banishment, so as of the beginning they're just doing whatever the hell they want, basically.
I'm saying that's my problem with the dragons. They're not mindless idiots, so if they're all serving Alduin why would they head to random villages and attack there?
So Dragonborn has to pay out of the ass to buy Skooma. Destroying the economy ftw!
If things get to serious, the Nords can used the newly conquered area in Morrowind and gather Cliff Racers to exterminate them.
Argonians took over Morrowind, and Saint Jiub drove all of the cliffracers away from Morrowind a long time ago. :v:
Argonians took over Morrowind, and Saint Jiub drove all of the cliffracers away from Morrowind a long time ago. :v:
Damn! And the Nords and Orcs also launched an invasion on Morrowind from the North. Not sure if they kept their claims of course, though given the fact the Empire is mainly now back to warring states I wouldn't be surprised.
They're not some sort of Angels, they're just a race of regular Black Dragons that serve Alduin. I wonder if Peryite will have a role in Skyrim, being the only other God (albeit a Daedric Prince) that takes the form of a dragon.
I wonder if Peryite will have a role in Skyrim, being the only other God (albeit a Daedric Prince) that takes the form of a dragon.
I'm sure they will have shrines to the Daedra Princes all over the place Maybe his followers are being attacked and he wants you to help them as the quest?
Well the thing is, according to the lore the only reason Peryite uses the form of a dragon is to spite Akatosh. So I'm just wondering if they'll build on that relationship in the game seeing as Akatosh(Alduin) and dragons in general play a main role in the game.
Wait, what does the "Number 220, DEC 2011" next to the barcode thingy mean then?
The dates on PCG issues seem to be about 2 months into the future, it's normal and I have that issue.
The dates on PCG issues seem to be about 2 months into the future, it's normal and I have that issue.
Doesn't the date indicate when the issue will be available to the public? If you subscribe, you get the issue earlier, no?
