I've been playing Daggerfall in wait for Skyrim. Even though I'm absolutely terrible at it, it's pretty good fun.
but there was a picture with a dude and his awesomely closed helm.
You mean the guard?
Skyrim SHOULD have mounted combat and spears. Just saying [editline]1st October 2011[/editline] I know it won't have that though, sadly

Realistically, scandinavia also did not have dragon issues
Realistically, scandinavia also did not have dragon issues
Tell that to fucking Jörmungandr, Fáfnir and Nidhogg. They were a part of their mythology
horses were not used for combat in scandinavia
That would be relevant if this game was set in Scandinavia.
Spears would be nice. They did mention spears in the lusty Argonian maid. But then again, I think spears was code for something...
Tell that to fucking Jörmungandr, Fáfnir and Nidhogg. They were a part of their mythology

Realistically, scandinavia also did not have dragon issues
aware of the mythology side of things my point is, Skyrim is not Scandinavia, and being able to joust against dragons would kick ass
The only thing Skyrim and Scandinavia have in common is snow.
wow
The only thing Skyrim and Scandinavia have in common is snow.
You forgot the Mudcrabs.
The only thing Skyrim and Scandinavia have in common is snow.
I find alot of Scandinavian inspired stuff in most (if not all) RPGs that take place in nordic countries. i.e clothing, names, and architecture
I find alot of Scandinavian inspired stuff in most (if not all) RPGs that take place in nordic countries. i.e clothing, names, and architecture
The blacksmith's we know "Alvor". His name is a Norwegian word. And here' a random picture I took this winter with my cellphone camera of a random mountain Here's Skyrim Except for the clouds, the mountains tend to have the same sharpness around here. Sadly, there are no pine-trees in my picture, but even if there were, they wouldn't be visible from that distance. Speaking of which, I think Skyrim's scale of the mountains may be off, they seem kinda tiny [editline]1st October 2011[/editline] It's like a mountain is 20 trees high at most. And that's pretty low
Except for the clouds, the mountains tend to have the same sharpness around here.
You haven't seen the Alps, I guess. [t]http://www.discoveryalps.it/images/foto/3386.jpg/_full.jpg[/t] Shit's Skyrim as fuck.
This just in, Skyrim invented the Alps. Next at 10 we discuss how Halo was the first FPS ever and tips on becoming a gun expert from CoD [sp]Take a joke[/sp]

(They're throwing knives by the way)
no one used any weapons except long blade in morrowind because relatively all the others sucked shit apart from the throwing weapons, those objectively sucked shit morrowind is not god's gift to gaming by any means, it's got even more flaws than oblivion

I'm saying that having diversity in your game world is good even if it means there are weapon choices that are terrible. If every shop is "swords 'r us" and putting a pointy end to a stick is something only spoken in legends the world will end up being bland. Just blindly cutting everything so that players now HAVE to use a sword because there are no options is a terrible solution to a problem. Quick to climb up on your high horse again aren't you?
Shit, now I want a crossbow in Skyrim :v:

Why would they be worthless?
Quick to climb up on your high horse again aren't you?
please use a different idiom to insult me, I can't help laughing when people use that one [editline]1st October 2011[/editline] That said I would love to have crossbows/throwing stars and shit in Skyrim now that the 'I've put my crosshair over your head, clicked the mouse button and the arrow had visibly gone into you, but apparently I've missed' system is gone. Crossbows especially give me a great big boner.
You'd think with the huge time difference between Daggerfall and Skyrim, somebody would have created a decent anti air weapon to defend against all those pesky flying creatures.
But what do they matter if they are practically worthless to use.
You'll accept mods to be the solution to every other problem, best not have a double standard
You'd think with the huge time difference between Daggerfall and Skyrim, somebody would have created a decent anti air weapon to defend against all those pesky flying creatures.
ever since jiub killed all the cliff racers there have been precisely no flying creatures in tamriel
no one used any weapons except long blade in morrowind because relatively all the others sucked shit
I've played many characters through the entire game using only spears or axes or bows or short swords before. Without mods. i don't think they suck at all, and the variety was fun as hell. also i just preordered collectors edition :v:
ever since jiub killed all the cliff racers there have been precisely no flying creatures in tamriel
birds
Caught in the crossfire. There are no flying creatures left, RIP flight.
to Jiub, birds just looked like smaller cliffracers
to Jiub, birds just looked like smaller cliffracers
He threw every spear at the cliffracers, and shot down every bird with the crossbows, then took all his spears and crossbows and ascended to become a saint
