The video I saw on Gametrailers of the demo had some skipping, but I don't know how much distance they covered in each skip. They did do the demo live before, so I don't think it could have been too long.
But bear in mind, that map is only speculation.

That took about 30 minutes to walk in the full demo, plus some fighting and the Dragons at the end.

The choice that the player gets in the story is "Which Daedric Artifact do I get to sacrifice?"
Now I just really hope that it's a choice you actually have to think about, and they don't paint one side as the "good guys" and the others as the "Bad guys".
Really hope decisions will have some impact in this game.
Also there's an achievement for getting 15 daedric artifacts, daedric quests are most likely back

Could be that Dragon shouts are supercharged Thu'um. While Thu'um might exist in strictly thaumaturgic realms, dragon shouts dominate the elemental.

No, I think that he means that Dragon shouts can have more abilities like breathing fire, while Thu'um can only do more grander things like shake the world or convince an army or something. In other words, Dragon shouts are Dumbledore, Thu'um is Gandalf.
In any case I think he's wrong, I'm pretty sure Dragon shouts ARE Thu'um.

Dragon shouts can be elements, control time etc.
Todd even said so himself in one of the interviews, I think.
