yeah you can
something that i think is interesting is that if you are using two hands for weapons you can't use magic besides dragon shouts.

I believe they said you can combine spells if you use both at once. I couldn't test this at PAX because they only gave us one spell.

I was in the second row to get into PAX. So I ran straight to the booth (I knew where it would be) and only had to wait 30-40 minutes. I also grabbed like 5 of those Skryim Hats. (they kept tossing em my direction)

The secret is to put on the coolest looking armor. An axe in your right hand and fire in your left. Then go to riverwood and burn and cut everything that moves (not even the chicken was spared a flame filled death.)

I didn't see any children. If there were any that I didn't notice then I can only imagine screams as I torched that chicken.
After I killed what was in the town (I quickly skimmed the town during the killing. I didn't kill anyone inside as I only had like 7 minutes left out of 15.) I went out and searched. I found a cave and it started some kind of cutscene almost? It showed me walking into the cave and starting up inside via loadscreen. It was weird.
Inside the cave was a necromancer and a bunch of skeletons. I then tricked the necromancer to walk backwards and he fell down a pit. I jumped in after him. He healed. I swapped to dual wield sword and axe and kicked his ass right as they said it was time for us to stop the demo.
Also I really enjoyed Magic + Weapon combo. When you ran out of stamina you could use your magic so you wouldn't run completely out. I basically alternated between magic and melee and it worked pretty well to kill the town.

Did it actually show YOU walking into the cave or some pre-rendered generic character? Because that's pretty cool considering how many loading screens there are likely to be.

It wasn't really cut scene. If I remember correctly it just kind of zoomed out and walked me in or it was first person (I can't remember 100%) and showed me walking in (I lost control for a moment. I was confused)
(I also believe hud was disabled during this time. It happened pretty fast. It was like a 3 second thing)

Here's the thing..I think there was still a loading screen. I think this was just to show you walking into the cave (Because I don't think there was a door or anything like that. It was just a cave.
It's been over a month + I was pretty excited while playing so my memory of it all isn't 100%.
