I wonder if the carriage system is still in (it was a sort of fast travel to places you haven't been to before, you'd get a horse and buggy and be taken there)
yes it is
My main problems with Gamebryo in the past is the world LOD at distances. I really don't want to trawl round the internet looking for LOD fixes day 1.
Gamebryo isn't even a bad engine, it's Bethesda that made it bad. Things like CIV IV and Catherine are on it, it plays fine on those.
yes it is
Time to create a pasty Imperial nobleman who wears only expensive clothes, uses spells and maybe a dagger, and does nothing but insult/bribe the lower rabble while using the carriages for all his travel.
Other Gamebryo engine games are not trying to do the same things as Bethesda, however. Oblivion + F3 were huge, complex open world environments. You can't compare that to a strategy game and a puzzle game.
I started playing Daggerfall to pass the time and I keep getting killed in the first level by a barely clothed lady or a flying gargoyle thingy :(
I'll do a Fist of The North Star runthrough. Brawl is replaced with "Stare Intensely" And if that don't work "You are already dead."
but you need to hit him first, then he'll say it didn't hurt, and then BLAM he blows from the inside out
How about Divinity 2: Ego Draconis which is a huge open world RPG with proper physics and GASP! ladders that work.
Omg that game was awesome. Look at how armor in video games should be worn on women.
That must be the worst armor in the game, it covers way too much. :v:
the lack of world shadows in the scenery is seriously worrying. that was one of the biggest flaws in the gamebyro engine and it made the scenery look really ugly. i really hope all these screenshots are from the console versions because if the pc version doesn't even have world shadows than i really don't think they've upgraded the engine enough for it to deserve a new name. you can definitely tell it's just a slightly modified gamebyro engine.
As much as I agree with you, that should be the least of your worries. Even if the world shadows do turn out to be a disappointment (which I truly doubt, as I'm sure Bethesda has been hard at work improving their engine), it's nothing that the modding community can't fix. The one thing I fear the most is immersion being broken, and by what? The engine crashing. There's nothing I hated more than to be immersed into the game and enjoying it when all of a sudden, the game freezes up and crashes. What made that worse is that sometimes, my entire computer would just cease up and I would be forced to do a hard reset. I could run the game smoothly on Ultra settings, but no, simple errors in the engine made me feel like I couldn't even run it on a toaster-oven.
That must be the worst armor in the game, it covers way too much. :v:
This must be better then. I bet that floating guy gives good.. well you know.
A nice swipe to the lower quarters and you are gone.
Most footage i have seen is from consoles. Could it be that the pc version will have much better graphics?
Most footage i have seen is from consoles. (At least, that's what he said about Oblivion and such.)
Why is it even a question? Of course it will look better on PC, everything does because you can tweak setting to your liking whereas on Consoles you get stuck with, generally the medium default. The question is, how much better? Is it well optimized? Or, will my computer be able to run it? And as it stands, we don't know. Specs will be out "in the next two weeks" according to Pete Hines. Just stick it out a bit.
I don't see how it would be such a problem to roll out a PC and play it on the stage, you could even play it with an xbox/ps3 controller if it's so "hard" to play a first person game with a mouse and keyboard. I'd say it's solely because Microsoft pays them a fortune to do it.

If they show off the "Oh God it's so beautiful" PC version and then show the console one people tend to get disappointed in the difference, look at Battlefield 3 for an example of this.
Have there been any pictures of the games rats. I need some evil giant rats to slay to get into my adventuring epic fantasy world mood. Fuck dragons. Giant rats are where the shit is at.
I'm glad that Skyrim is coming out in november for two reasons. One it's close to my birthday and two my sports season ends early that month so I can have the maximum amount of time in a weekday to play.

In the demo, when Todd goes in Bleak Falls Barrow, there's a part before or after fighting the Draugr, where he uses an ice rune to kill two things running at him... Those are Skeevers. [editline]pooplol[/editline] Yeah, they were in the G4 video. I can't find it though. AHA! Here it is. At 1:24-ish
Comparing Dark/Demon souls to Skyrim is silly. Its like comparing Half Life 2 to Modern Warfare 2 just because they both have guns.
I successfully predicted Day One furry porn mods for New Vegas so I'm doing the same for this
One of my steam friends has a skyrim dev group that focuses on my little pony horse replacement models. Sometimes I question our relationship.
http://uk.games.ign.com/articles/119/1199206p1.html game journalism. hahah.
"The only reason this is worth mentioning is because I really, really don't like RPGs." May as well stop reading there. Also I like how the comments are pretty much all about Dark Souls.
I absolutely hate bias misinformed gaming journalism. (lo and behold that's pretty much all gaming journalism.) That's why I couldn't give a shit about gaming shows and magazines, I'll watch/read them for new info but the reviews are always misleading. Play a game for yourself don't take other people's word for it.
"because PC have so weird controls" being about on stage; Todd actually prefers playing the game on PC. (At least, that's what he said about Oblivion and such.)
Well, he said something about it on quake con. Anyway, if I get this for PC, I'll play left handed.
