O Skyrim, Skyrim! Wherefore art thou Skyrim?
Deny thy developer and refuse thy release date;
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my wait,
And I'll no longer be an impatient man.
That's some Shakespeare, son.
Gaah! I can't wait another month!!
Anyone know if the enemy and item level scaling is still as shit as it was in Oblivion?
Or did they finally make it more like it was in Morrowind?
Say, how DID the Morrowind item/enemy scaling work?

I certainly hope that I wont encounter petty highwaymen with huge daedric warhammers and glass armour.

High level Creatures were spawned in the world regardless of your level, You can go exploring some mine and a couple poachers double your level may show up. (I once had this quest to kill these two, was still level 1, spent two hours fighting them :v:)
It doesn't make much sense that small time bandits are a match for the mighty dragonborn anyways, challenges should be found exclusively in actual dungeons and such at higher levels imo.
Maybe the only "true" power you have are the shouts, the rest just makes you human... or elven... or beastal.

Well, just because you're a Dragonborn doesn't make you a champion. You still have to learn how to fight and all, after all, or awake your powers to become 'mighty'.

That's beside the point, bandits still shouldn't be running around with the best armors in the game. They're bandits.
I don't want to go pillaging dungeons and get LEVEL 1000 MEGA HEAVY ARMOR OF DEATHGEDDON and when I leave the cave every bandit and his grandmother is wearing it too, like how it was in Oblivion.
Guys. The creation Engine IS Gamebyro. Its not "So new it can be called something else" because its still based on Gamebyro. They can only say they made a new engine if they made one from scratch. Besides, Gamebyro is a set of middleware that devs use to make games. That one Catherine game (The puzzle game for consoles that appeals to horny weeaboo nerds) was made on Gamebyro.
Let me put it in terms you guys might understand

Here. Its like saying a Marble statue isn't made out of Marble.
Yeah, in some technical way its still classifiable as gamebryo but the point people are trying to make is its better than gamebryo. The problem is if you keep saying it IS gamebryo people will instantly assume its the same shitty old engine and the games going to be plagued by all the technical limitations that were in Oblivion.

I guess I'm a horny weeaboo nerd :C
why are people acting like this and dark souls are competing, they're completely different games that play very differently

Sites like IGN love to compare it purely because its in the RPG genre.

gamebryo is a decent engine, bethesda just had a bunch of terrible assets and hardly any playtesters
if they've implemented proper multithreading (which they should've considering they need it to be optimised as well as possible) then it'll be much more stable, as long as their heap algorithm isn't complete shit
Sites like IGN love to compare it purely because its in the RPG genre.
no they compare the two because they are terrible writers with brain damage

If you played both of them, or even saw gameplay, you can tell they are just totally different. I could name a hundred things as to why both the Demon/Dark Souls and Elder Scrolls franchises are both amazing, and many as to why they aren't as similar as popular gamer reviewers are making them. I think both are worth getting this year and will probably be the top two roleplaying games I have played in a good while.

I didn't play it, but like Bikini Samurai Squad, a lot of people tell me it appeals to people that like cheap thrills and big boobs. Even though Catherine is a puzzle game, the cover is basically porn.
Hell, I can mod Oblivion and eventually Skyrim for that!

The biggest audience in gaming right now isn't a very perceptive or bright one, IGN plays on this as do other sites. Majority of the time people barely even take notice of whats going on in trailers and they sure as hell won't watch gameplay.

I agree they're fuckwit 'writers' (I use that term loosely and refuse to acknowledge them as actual journalists) but like I said, they do it to play on a less perceptive audience.
that's what you get when you're owned by news international I guess

Haha, Catherine is definitely promiscuous but I don't remember any blatant nudity in it. Then again I got it for the masochistic puzzle gameplay, not the virtual breasts because, well :v: Heck my mom likes playing it, so it's not just for the nerdy 15 year old trying to slip porn in past his parents in video game form.

You got me there! Though, I mean both Dark Souls and the Elder Scrolls seem like games focused on those who like roleplaying games, and those who generally have their wits about them. This could just be me having a little too much faith in humanity, though.
agreed
1 MONTH TO GO
Ive had this on pre order since the first day it was available IM SO READY
Isn't that MMO Rift on Gamebryo too? That game looks pretty good and has nice animations too.

Not my video, I only played the beta for a few days.
Is that guy using gravel as a mouse pad? Why are his camera movements so jerky?

Low fps, mouse smoothing, lag from recording, one of those most likely. Should of recorded at 720p instead.
I just bought two nvidia 560's to SLI them mostly for this game.
Just pre-ordered... hell fucking yeah
