Otherwise I don't really see how you can fuck a character up unless you are playing on hard and skipping a lot of quests.
oblivion's touchy when it comes to characters dude. it's why you can get to a certain level and your character will just be utter shit. [editline]12th October 2011[/editline]
I hear woodelves aren't that good, and Khajiit don't look good to me.
they have the ideal stat bonuses for it [editline]12th October 2011[/editline]
I'll just be a Khajiit Actually no. I don't know.. What's a good warrior class? I'm gonna take it as a different approach, heavy armor and all that
female orc is the ultimate warrior race. [editline]12th October 2011[/editline]
Should I be a redguard, nord, or orc? Trying to see which benefits the warrior the most.
again, female orc.
is alchemy gonna be in skyrim and if so is it gonna be good [editline]12th October 2011[/editline] nvm found it Alchemy - Potions 20% stronger (5 ranks) - Potions for restore health, magicka or stamina are 25% more powerful (maybe ranked) - Poisons 25% more effective (maybe ranked) - Poisons last for twice as many hits - Two ingredients are gathered from plants - 50% resistance to all poisons - All negative effects removed from potions and all positive removed from poisons - 2 effects of an ingredient are revealed when testing it for the first time (instead of just one) sounds good
is alchemy gonna be in skyrim and if so is it gonna be good
Yes, alchemy is in Skyrim, but how should we know if it's good when the game isn't out yet?
Is alchemy going to be in Skyrim and if so is it going to be good.
It will have animations and will include a lot of experimentation, now go ahead and read all the 280 pages of this thread.
I never did Alchemy in Oblivion, mostly because I didn't get it and it wasn't interesting enough.
Steal it

Halt... no wait, wrong game! :v:
I'll probably wear robes. Robes look so sweet.
I'm a mage. I will wear robes even if they don't give me bonuses.
Me too, but then I get killed a lot. [editline]11th November 2011[/editline]
I'll probably wear robes. Robes look so sweet.
I'll add a hood, they actually seem to look good in this game!
Halt... no wait, wrong game! :v:
THAT'S COMMISSAR HALT TO YOU *Blam* Sorry had to do it :v:
I'll probably do a playthrough on a hard difficulty setting, I miss a challenge. I think it'll make exploring places like Bleak Falls Barrow a lot more fun.
Me too, but then I get killed a lot. [editline]11th November 2011[/editline] I'll add a hood, they actually seem to look good in this game!
I just don't get how the hoods in Oblivion worked. Their design, I mean.
THAT'S COMMISSAR HALT FOR YOU *Blam* Sorry had to do it :v:
You fail, big time.
Is there any confirmation that we can use different poisons on arrows? I want to make a Thief/Archer type who specializes in stealthy assassinations or crippling/killing them with poison arrows. God this game will be the shit.
You fail, big time.
Hence the "sorry" part
Hence the "sorry" part
The fail being: 1. It's Commissar Holt 2. the quote should say "That's Commissar Holt to you."
The fail being: 1. It's Commissar Holt 2. the quote should say "That's Commissar Holt to you."
Umm that's the point, it was supposed to be a pun

One awesome feature that could actually be in the game if the devs heard/thought of it: Randomisation: -Loot Instead of having 5 different swords (different materials) with a few special ones and maybe a rusty and shiny variant, why not make the game slightly randomise every single one. Say one more is a bit longer (stretched), one's a bit more rusty (changed colour), etc. with stats that go along with the change. Could be done with most loot. -Monsters Already been said in the thread before, but it's so fucking good. Every monster has a randomized size and damage to go along with. While making the game more interesting, it could also create a challenge among communities to defeat/catch the biggest monster. Why the heck hasn't any game done this?
Why the heck hasn't any game done this?
Probably because it'd be hard to code without making the result look bad. And item randomization wouldn't be too fun if every item is randomized to the point where the only similarity is the name and general shape.
Why the heck hasn't any game done this?
Borderlands ? But yeah more random stuff would be nice, keeps it interesting. Although we have mods as well so it's not that critical.

If this would ever be in any game it should have separate models, otherwise it would fit in a crappy indie game. (Basically what Canuhearmenow posted)
I almost read that as "God this game will be shit" and would have rated you dumb :v:
Thank you for reminding me of that, I thought he meant the game would be shit if you couldn't get poison arrows. Anyway, since alchemy will be for thieve/stealth classes, I guess it may be added
The fail being: 1. It's Commissar Holt 2. the quote should say "That's Commissar Holt to you."
Let's just go with the Daggerfall "halt" so we don't make a big deal out of something as minor as this.
-Monsters Already been said in the thread before, but it's so fucking good. Every monster has a randomized size and damage to go along with. While making the game more interesting, it could also create a challenge among communities to defeat/catch the biggest monster.
There was an Oblivion mod that did that, easily and in a smooth way. Don't remember which one, though.
Them red dead redemption random events was kinda fun.
gamebryo is a decent engine, bethesda just had a bunch of terrible assets and hardly any playtesters if they've implemented proper multithreading (which they should've considering they need it to be optimised as well as possible) then it'll be much more stable, as long as their heap algorithm isn't complete shit [editline]11th October 2011[/editline] no they compare the two because they are terrible writers with brain damage
Hundreds of concurrent actors, ticked on different threads? Sounds like something I'd only attempt with something automagic like STM.
I almost read that as "God this game will be shit" and would have rated you dumb :v:
If I'd say that I would slap myself.
Can someone guide me on how to make Oblivion MUCH better than the vanilla state? I only want graphical overhaul.
Them red dead redemption random events was kinda fun.
you actually speaking about rdr here or are we talking about an oblivion mod? Would like to try that if so.
Skyrim needs smarter muggers "PAY ME 100 GOLD OR I'LL KILL YOU" says the bandit with a glass sword and glass armor to the man with the Daedric Claymore and the full Daedric Armor.
