One hand holding the bow, one holding the arrow and a third arm holding the spell?
Beard holding the arrow.
Enchant the beard so that it is both sentient and magically adept, then let it enchant your arrows as you fire them?
I'm going to teach my nord's beard the art of dual wielding.
Cant wait another 29 Days.
No, if you want to choose a race that fits your class for roleplaying purposes so be it, but this whole situation where you think being a certain class is more effective with a certain race is completely misinformed.
Take this... An Orc starts with a strength modifier of 45, whereas a wood elf starts with 30. So sure, it will take just a bit longer to get the wood elf's strength to 100 than it will with the Orc but when you do, they will both do the exact same damage and both be effective warriors.
Same concept applies for the skills, one race may start with a higher score on the skill but by the time it's maxed the effect is exactly the same for all races.
The fact of the matter is, one may take longer to level but they are both just as effective, and seeing as play time is one of the larger factors that the fans of this series enjoy I don't think taking ever so slightly longer to level (almost unnoticeably longer I might add) is really an issue.
Not to mention these attributes are no longer even a factor in Skyrim, and your skills level as you use them. You are making the character and class system much much more difficult than it really is.
Oblivion was an irrational grind. they did a poor job on the stat aspect of the game and then used that as the rational for removing a fair portion of the stats in skyrim v:v:v
The racial stats is a good idea, but it was implemented poorly in oblivion. These stats should not be bonuses, they should be multiplier... IE: Orc would have 1.15x multipliers to one handed and two handed weapons so even if he capped the skill at 100, it'd be "115" technically, and at his maximum level he'd be more effective that a wood elf of equal level, whereas the wood elf may get the same bonus, but applied to archery or sneaking (or both, w/e). I don't know why they aren't doing this, is it just me or does it make way more sense? Wood elves are a dexterous race so they'd get a permanent multiplier to their archery skills; nocking arrows faster and having better aim, whereas orcs are built strong so they'd get a permanent multiplier to melee-oriented skills because they hit harder than most other races.
Aside from the other cut-back stat elements, I wish they'd just give an "advanced" character creation option. I don't mind the "play into your role" style" but it doesn't make a lick of sense that they force you to play into your role to avoid forcing you to play a role, didn't they see the irony in that? They could have just put in an "advanced" option that lets you redistribute your initial skill points, and then could apply the racial bonus on top of it.
So... races don't matter to make characters?
So... races don't matter to make characters?
They do, but they matter less and less as you play the game and level up your skills more.
At +10 bonus to a skill doesn't mean much in retrospect when you're at 90 in the skill anyways. If it was a multiplier, it'd be as important at 10 skill points as it would be at 100 skill points... 1.2 multiplier to 10 skill points would bring you to 12; that's +2 and when your skills are that shitty, it's a big different. At 100 skill points it'd bring you to 120, so that's +20 skill points, even at your mastery of a skill, +20 is still a big difference; so that race multiplier stays just as effective regardless of what level your skills are. Makes way more sense IMO
Does anyone else do this? I become a member of the mages guild and make a spell that Sets your Mercantile skill to 100 and charms the person you are looking at by 100 for 1 second and use it to buy and sell shit at better prices?
It's better than increasing your Personality when you level up by one or two points.

Argonians make a difference in those deep water missions.
But then again, you could use a water breathing neckless or something.
But then again, that takes up an equipment slot.
But then again, you can cast a spell that makes you breathe underwater
But then again, your character isn't good when it comes to alteration.

Argonian was one of my favorite races.
5. Boots of Blinding Speed. You can get these early on but I forget where (look it up). Basically they make your character very fast, at the cost of being 100% blind. The blinding effect can be negated however later on in the game with a dispel constant effect enchantment I think. Or at least lessened.
Heh, if you're Breton your 50% magic resistance lessens the blind effect by 50%, so it's like you're running around super fast with a slightly darker screen.
I didn't know that Oblivion was that complex with relationships

I/m surprised that there is no disposition penalty when you are an Argonian and talking to a Khajiit and vice versa
Argonian was one of my favorite races.
It was the only race to play. 100% Poison Resistance is amazing.
I'm not familiar with that Dunmer slavery every race hates each other thing from Morrowind, mind running that by me?

Actually you see Argonians and Khajiits don't get along well from some dialogue in Oblivion.
However, I'm certain the reason is because they were both enslaved to the Dunmer so they share a common enemy.

Yeah, I noticed a joke that an Argonian told me.
"Why do Khajiits lick their butts?"
"Because they want to get the taste of Khajiits out of their mouth"
What I meant was that there is no disposition penalty between the two, according to the chart.
Oversight, or maybe it's only in that city specifically?
Everyone hates me. I don't know if it's because the people in the waterfront are pissy or what

NO, wait, I meant yes.
You shouldn't even have to ask really. It's like "I have a cure for cancer, should I tell anybody?"
I thought we already have them?

The awesomeness of Skyrim will breaker your scanner if you do not sacrifice a mudcrab to Alduin.
Beware, it has happened time and again before!
http://i51.tinypic.com/2iqn1hw.jpg
That is the sexiest mudcrab I have ever seen.
By the way, I was fighting alongside the town guard against some flame atronachs, and spider deadra, when he said the mudcrab line... Is there some super secret imperial testing facility where they just pump out really scary mudcrabs to train the imperial guard on, or is there just an abundance of hallucinogens in Cyrodill.

Everytime I look at that Spirit bow I dread the look of the Bound Armor.
Everytime I look at that Spirit bow I dread the look of the Bound Armor.
Have they confirmed that its the bound weapon look? Are you sure it isn't just a new spell?
