anything is more atmospheric than oblivion, even morrowind
also those screenshots, all my money
console screenshots
yeah I know
So I'm reading through: http://kotaku.com/5850445/the-wonderful-distractions-sentient-glitches-of-skyrims-massive-world
And I read:
There are a couple of guards standing near the base, by a fire. I kill one by hot-swapping to a bow using my D-pad. And then switch spells to reanimate her corpse. She rises, shivering and stiff, her body floating for a second at an angle too sharp for her to be standing. Then she flops to the ground on her feet and begins to attack her once-allies. She fights until she is rekilled, her body turning suddenly to ash and drifting to the ground.
Necromancy spells fucking confirmed. Need new pants. (If I'm late then sorry.)
For PC, I'll probably end up rebinding my keys so that left click = right hand and right click = left hand, if it was the other way around, I'd die a long since every TES game I've played has been right click to block.
That bound bow in the screenshot in the article looks fucking amazing though.
Will there be better beds?
I like to watch my neighbors sleep at night and I throw boar meat at their faces until they wake up.
I would like to see NPCs scared shitless and hide under their blankets.
But they couldn't hide under their blankets because there were no animations for that.
All I know is; I'm playing it in this order;
Mage
Thief
Warrior
The ground texture still bugs me. It's still the same as in gamebyro, that's like a punch in the stomach for me.
Gamebyro is just so god damn ugly, god. And I don't mean the whole creation engine, just the ground texture.
On this picture mainly. The leaves remind me too much of fallout 3.

Prepare for shitstorm from other people.
Prepare for shitstorm from other people.
The game does reek of gaybryo to be honest.
[editline]17th October 2011[/editline]
It still is going to be awesome though.
Gamebryo is fine, as long as they've learned how to use it.

"Gaybryo".
Such sophisticated wordplay.
As long as flying books don't kill us from bumping into them, then we should all be fine.
Just like the Super Mario 64 Haunted Books that scared us as children.

To be honest, apart from the NPC, that looks like something from Oblivion.
I mean that's some really ugly textures.

Me gusta; Necromancy would be a very useful magic to utilise. Having a couple of creeps handy would help a glass cannon DPS from afar whilst the enemy has to cut their way through your minions.
I guess it would be tied in to Conjuration; since that's where the undead summons were. But I hope that the Reanimation spells actually allow you to keep your minions around for longer, unlike the summons we had in Oblivion that only stuck around for two minutes.
Why the fuck is everyone comparing this to Dark Souls

The same reason people compared Space Marine to Gears of War.

Those might be only place holders, right guys, right? :ohdear:

Screenshot taken from the 360 version, the PC version will have crisper textures I am sure of it.

I've played the game on the 360 at PAX and thought it looked quite nice even for a console game. I'm sure the PC will have it even better though. I really wish I could go back and play some more at PAX through some form of time travel..It was just so much fun for the 15 minutes I got to play.

That's what I thought, I didn't wan to start a fight though :smith:

I will rip his head off and wear his helmet.
ITS BADASS AS FUCK.
they said the textures will be better, I hope so, Beth. or I'll have to make new textures myself.

Yup. The Glove texture on the picture up there ain't exactly what you'd call top-notch.

cry about it
Wow the nexus looks a lot different than it did before, I hadn't noticed until now.

Still full of all the same shit though
cry about it
Very educated and well chosen post.
cry about it
wah people can't speak bad about my hyped game
I'm not too worried about the screenshots given that they were taken on a console.

I really hope we can get a spell like that. Also, I heard there is a Necromancer faction/guild, is joining it denied or is it just not confirmed (yet)?
