I'm thinking about skipping class just so that I can play Skyrim. I don't even care if I do have a quiz that day. That's how much I want to this game. This is assuming that I'm even going to get it on release day.
I gotta preorder Skyrim with my paycheck. Luckily it's a lot bigger than $60 [editline]18th October 2011[/editline] I hope. :tinfoil:

This game needs to come out before I fast travel to their head quarters and break into their storage room that has a Very Hard lock on it and steal 5 copies of the game. Here's something interesting I heard. Steam Centurions dont actually run on Steam. They just somehow give off Steam. It makes Dwemer stuff even MORE confounding.
The steam could be coolant that's evaporating.

I showed my mother the trailer for the game because she wouldnt shut up about it not being a war game and being released on Nov 11th. Now she wont shut up about the graphics being lifelike and how back in her day it was all squares and text.
Trying to give a rational explanation to fictional stuff.... but the dwemer have invented some high technology. They have radio transmitters and radio receivers, vacuum transistors as well as explosives. The dwemer use magically generated electricity (for radios and vaccum tubes) or heat sources (in the case of steam centurions) to power machines and other technologies. Rather than just using magic alone, they use magic to power mundane creations. Go into any dwemer ruin in morrowind and you'll find coherers, vacuum tubes (on the walls and as loot) and that sound you generally hear is a mains hum, indicating that they have transformers.
TES really needs more technological stuff, all of that sounds cool and would fit in with the games. Imagine exploring a city based on all the Dwemer stuff?
Im hoping one of the expansions brings you to the realm/existance that the dwemer are stuck in. steampunk.. steampunk everywhere..
Steam Centurions dont actually run on Steam.
Does that count as warez? :v:
Not sure if this is late or not, but PC Gamer confirmed you can join the Imperial Legion. Steam Centurions are back!
Less groundbreaking but its got a normal skeleton (minion?) and that wizard ponce looks like a necromancer judging by the black robe and hood

I did get a chance to fight a necromancer in a cave at PAX. He had normal skeletons as guards and used normal spells so more than likely that is a necromancer.
I wana kill the father of a kid, then bring the father back to life, and watch as the kid has to kill his father. This is gonna rock.
I wana kill the father of a kid, then bring the father back to life, and watch as the kid has to kill his father. This is gonna rock.
It'll be just like in Gothic 3. "You killed my father!" *bring father back to life* "I'll tear your head off!" *kills dad*
Here's something interesting I heard. Steam Centurions dont actually run on Steam. They just somehow give off Steam. It makes Dwemer stuff even MORE confounding.
I beg to differ, in the book Ruins of Kemel-Ze "The giant golden king stood before me, the shell of ice falling away, his head swiveling towards me in triumph. Was there no stopping this Dwarven monstrosity?! But then the light faded from his eyes, and his arms dropped to his sides. The magical frost had worked, cooling its steam-driven energy." Now, granted, the "Giant Golden King" is essentially a giant version of the Steam Centurion. As that implies, as a giant version of the regular thing, they are going to work similar. So the Steam Centurion runs on steam and gives it off in excess when in full function. Granted, the steam centurions do not have any real elemental weakness in the game but still here's some lore. Good read either way. [editline]19th October 2011[/editline] Fucking sperging it up over here, damn.
Apparently they're weak to shock in skyrim, but given the fact that they run on steam, that doesn't make much sense. Frost would.
They dont run on steam, they run on magic. Like how a steam engine runs on coal. Doesn't really make sense that they have any particularly strong weaknesses.. they are mechanical creatures.
Fire would make more sense on Steam Centurions. Fire makes metal expand (I don't know about how meta reacts in Elder Scrolls though) and subjecting a Steam Centurion to raw flame would cause it to more than likely explode or warp the gears. Something would give.
Im liking all the info coming out of these new previews especially Rock Paper Shotguns one. One particular piece of information that I thought was really cool was how someone got arrested and went to prison, they tried to pick the lock but broke their only lockpick. Apparently one of the walls was cracked and rubbly and he broke through the wall, killed the guards, got his items and ran away. This sounds awesome as long as it's not there every time you go to jail.
why the fuck are you guys talking about dwemer using magic, the dwemer dont believe in magic, not even magical electricity.
So I started up morrowind for the first time ever. Didn't really understand what was happening when I was swinging but did no damage but then remembered someone saying you can miss in the game depending on your stats and what not. Pretty fun so far.
I wonder if there is going to be a romance subplot...like the one in Morrowind where you became that Khajiit "special friend"
