Well, you do get a dog or something. Or maybe a member from the dark brotherhood follows you around like in Oblivion if you do that questline of course. Not that they confirmed the second part, it would just make sense.

I noticed, in that IGN video, that as the dragon gets damaged, it becomes weak and it's attacks get slower and groggier.
That, to me, is awesome.
They've seriously gone all out in this game, I love it.

Most likely. Why would they throw away a good well refined companion system that was widely regarded as one of the strong points of New Vegas?
