You'll be fine unless this is a shitty port on the levels of GTA 4.
Let's hope not! GTA 4 was a disaster
the recommended specs are probably gonna be something around an 8800gt and dual core 2GHz
Doesn't that sound a little TOO optimistic? I mean it could be, but for such a big ass game like Skyrim? I have my doubts.

not as bad as saints row 2 though
if bethesda have done a decent job it'll only be a bit more demanding than oblivion
SR2 was really weird. It ran great on some while it ran like a piece of shit on others. There was a mod to speed it up though, worked okay.
But the port itself was so bad I am surprised it got past quality control, if any.
I'll just cram all my faith and trust into Bethesda.. Honestly, I've never been this excited for a damn list of requirements.

I own SR2 on xbox and it used to freeze up sometimes and lag a lot, so I don't think it was only the bad port
SR2 is one of the games in which i've had the most fun ever, largely because of co-op, so yeah i'm pumped for Saints row 3 although to a slightly lesser extent than Skyrim
Guys. I just realized my uni exams end on the 11th.
FUCKING YES
Me too! :o We have University Exam week here right before thanksgiving... too bad all my classes I am taking don't bother with that and we jut have our last exam/test on the 10th ;D
Only class that isn't like that is drawing, but hey, only one class!
The recommended requirements will surely be the same as FO:NV; video card with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA 8800 series, ATI 3800 series).
Atleast I hope so, I am stuck with my 9800GT :(
Really really can't fucking wait.
I mean fuck it's only 18 days fuck WoW.
Not sure if I'll get ravaged for saying this, but I think RAGE was a very well optimized game. I would like to see Skyrim have the same behavior.
and RAGE was not made by Bethesda Game Studios..
and RAGE was not made by Bethesda Game Studios..
Yes, I know. I'm just saying what id software can do, so can Bethesda.

Honestly, what leads you to believe that?
Bethesda has a good art department, but they have never really had a state of the art game engine (or game, for that matter) at any point and Oblivion performs pretty badly for what it is.
Im sort of on the fence about creations optimization. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

I agree about Oblivion. But somehow I believe that they kinda learned out of that, to actually nail it with Skyrim. I may be way off, which I probably am, but that's where my inner optimist takes control.

To me oblivion ran fine on my old system but it crashed like shit. I was scared entering other locations because there was a chance it would randomly crash. And that's on vanilla.
I suffer from memory leaks, crashes and even FPS dips in vanilla Oblivion and I'm way above the recommended requirements.
Albeit I found performance to be more stable in F3 and F:NV, but by that point they were working with Gamebryo for like 8 years. Now most of Gamebryo is gone, and it's unlikely many of their optimizations will carry over to new codework.
Logically, there's no reason that this engine shouldn't be well optimized, but with their track record with TES games it's honestly hard to trust them.
good god the world outside of cyrodill is so... mysterious
do you see that sea monster at the top
good god imagine fighting that on a boat or something
holy shit yokuda is p. interesting. NOW is see how fun a mod that added the entire continent of Tamriel and around it would be so fucking cool
Shame that Yokuda no longer exists. (It sank)

iD are fantastic at coding, optimisation and implementing futureproof features in their engines that are used by shitloads of people
bethesda only just god diagonal running right

Oblivion Stutter remover can't fix the deep seated engine issues but it vastly improves the way the game handles memory you should get it if you haven't already.

Fixed!

The assets are better than oblvion's but they're not crysis quality, and skyrim is still cell based which means there shouldn't be too much more than oblivion being rendered at one time. Of course it all depends on how well they utilize the CPU compared to Oblivion
Fixed!
ok the automatic graphic scaling was a load of shit but honestly that was more of an irrational design decision, the core of their engines is lean, mean and fucking awesome, as you'd expect with carmack at the helm

That's like saying Atari is still an amazing company because of pong.
Sure they did cool stuff back in the day but they aren't really the same company anymore.
Late as fuck, but what?
Ebony isn't wood in the TES lore?
Nope.
it's sort of volcanic glass, that is said to be the blood of gods.
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ebony
glass is similar but less durable and more flexible, it's also lighter, hence it's use in light armour.
I always thought the textures for ebony made it obvious it wasnt wood for some reason.
I always saw Ebony as Obsidian.
Minecraftian Obsidian.
Am I the only one who thinks the shout that freezes people sounds like he's sneezing?
Im at stage 4 in my insanity levels over this game.
I had a dream that I was in Disneyland and that I was doing a quest and suddenly everyone around me got assassinated and I was the only one left.
And then I turned around and hit this assassin with this sword and everyone started rushing at me.
They were like those Mario ghosts. If you look away from them, they move closer and closer. And if you look at them, they will hide.
So I managed to kill every assassin and the general person came up to me and congratulated me on killing all his friends and asked me if I wanted to be a member.
I said yes, and their headquarters was a wooden fortress containing new weapons and spells and even a dark brotherhood dragon.
I AM GOING INSANE OVER THIS GAME.
I will shit ebony bricks if this game gets delayed.

Yes please, we may build weapons from that.
