How can I tell if my graphics card supports Directx9 or not?
Phahaha. Do you play any games at all on your computer from 2002 onwards? [editline]26th October 2011[/editline] Not that that's really a good year to be comparing to but let's say 2007 most definitely.
How can I tell if my graphics card supports Directx9 or not?
Google your card name and direct x
How can I tell if my graphics card supports Directx9 or not?
if you bought your pc in the last 9 years the card supports directx 9 it's a terrible measure of how good your card is, basically if you've got a 3 year old midrange pc it should be able to run this on medium-high
Well, it's a fairly new laptop, and the card is an 'AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200'. No idea what difference that makes.
Just hope that there will be preloading on thursday so I can preload it thursday, wake up Friday morning, start decrypting, go to school, come home from school, skyrim is done decrypting. Then no one will see me on the weekend.

Could they be providing Hi-Res textures as a separate download?

For the king! for the king! for the sake of Skyrim! For our land! For our home! For the Hrothgar's blood! For the Nords, for the Gods for the sole single son. Dovahkiin, our king, who'll dawn with fire! Best song ever.
I have already wrote and sent out numerous letters to close friends and family informing them that come 11/11/11 my social life will commit suicide.
I just realized that Skyrim comes out on Veterans day. How the fuck is Amazon going to uphold their release day delivery guarantee then?

This excluded a lot of games from my "playable" list.

You thought you could go long without another speccy picture. *thanks* I gave my cpu a small oc to 2.31ghz but it's still my system's bottleneck. I hope I can run it just fine. It doesn't really matter though, I played Oblivion on ultra low settings on release with my old fx5200.

If people don't stop posting specs soon, I'm going to ditch this thread!
If people don't stop posting specs soon, I'm going to ditch this thread!
Bye!
I just finished reading the last book i have't yet read in oblivion (thank you testing hall) and Hoh-lee shit, elders scrolls has lots of lore. Even the poetry books were kickass. I hope skyrim has some awesome books. Lots of them.
Can't wait for it!
nope
Um, my old computer's inability to play Black Ops, Mass Effect, Portal 2, Fallout 3, Prototype, and Metro 2033 says otherwise.
I wonder if we can get mods to start banning for people asking if they can run the game? I mean for fucks sake, it's not that goddamn hard to tell by yourself. I know only the basics of computer hardware, just enough to build my own, and i can still decipher what they are saying and determine that Medium-High are what i will probably be able to run it at...If you can't figure out something as basic as that, maybe you SHOULD just go buy a damn xbox...I mean fuck, it's clogging up the thread man
Niiice, Skyrim is 40€ here in Finland to preorder. Consider it preordered.
I wish some mods could come and ban everyone who says "I can't wait" or something similar for 15 days, 4 hours and 30 minutes.
nope my geforce fx5200 from like 2004 supported directx 9
Nope. Dx9 support came with the 6xxx series. Was thinking about 9c. Sorry.
If I bought Skyrim on Amazon, with the super saver delivery, when would it arrive? I thought that I read somewhere in this thread that it was within 3 days of release, but I am not so sure.
