The Steam servers handled the huge release of Portal 2 just fine. Both of your reasons for doubting the preload have no correlation with reality.
Portal 2 had a preload though
Portal 2 had a preload though
And so will Skyrim.
I had the exact same thing, I thought a black argonian vampire would be pretty cool but nope, he turned into a rainbow of disappointment
Pardon the late reply, but rainbow of disappointment is the best term I've seen for a while.
Pardon the late reply, but rainbow if disappointment is the best term I've seen for a while.
at least my english degree did me some good
dat clipping (likely due to the height difference between dark elves and nords) Still nice to have these sneak attacks though
It looks more like his arm turns invisible/glitches the fuck out rather than clipping.
also
It doesn't even look like she's slitting his throat.
-Snip- Making a skyrim trailer hope you enjoy it when it realises maybe we will get a preview in a week,
dat clipping (likely due to the height difference between dark elves and nords)
It's a secret assassination technique taught by few in the Dark brotherhood.
It looks more like his arm turns invisible/glitches the fuck out rather than clipping.
first of all, her* (notice the boobies) Second, no, its just the animation causing her arm to clip into the nord dude. The animation is built for models of even height, so if a dark elf does it to a dark elf, there wouldn't be any clipping. Its a small thing, but hopefully they can fix it. [editline]27th October 2011[/editline]
It's a secret assassination technique taught by few in the Dark brotherhood.
shoulder joint removal prior to throat-slitting
Just before I finish pre-ordering Skyrim on Intkeys does anyone know any discount codes?
Might be a tab bit late but a Whopping 5% off: a45dottech4
Is there like a cool-down timer for dragon shouts? Or can I just go around freezing people and blowing them away?
Is there like a cool-down timer for dragon shouts? Or can I just go around freezing people and blowing them away?
The more words you use in a shout, the longer you have to wait until you can shout again.
Oh yeah, that kid I was talking about, the one who said he had an early copy of Skyrim he got from his "friend" who "helped make the game" said that he didn't have it on his laptop and that his dad took the DVD away from him, and he didn't even think up a reason for why his dad took some random game DVD from him when I asked him about that. I was at least expecting a modded Oblivion menu or something.
also
It's nice to see the game have a bit more violence, since the general theme is supposed to be a lot more brutal than Oblivion's or Morrowind's, but I still find it a bit distracting how the head looks like it's floating a bit off the ground as it rolls and doesn't appear to be casting a shadow on the ground like in Fallout. I'm nitpicking though, because it's still pretty good and won't be that common anyways.

Otherwise, it's pretty good.
The whole head decapitation looks like it was ripped directly from Fallout. Watching the head roll in that gif gives me flashbacks of blowing people apart in Fallout 3. I think it's just more proof that they're still essentially using the same engine (not complaining, just making an observation).

They are using the same damn havok physics engine (why would they switch?) and have the same damn artists making the physics models blood sprites and particle systems. Thats why it looks similar
still, better than no dismembering.
I do hope decapitation is done in moderation (in a manner of speaking). Hopefully it's some sort of finishing perk, wherein you have a high likelihood of simply decapitating people when you've mastered your weapon skill/s You feel like a boss if some pissant bandit ran up to you and you just lopped his head off with a daedric battle axe
Question about Oblivion, say you have a spell that causes 10 fire damage for 2 seconds. That would result in 5 damage per second, or 10 damage per second?
Results in 20 damage total, 10 each second
Results in 20 damage total, 10 each second
Ah, thanks for clearing that up.

They are going to have some same swords and same gameplay but its improved. You can now sprint, do finishing moves, better lighting effects and graphics, and most importantly much better animations.. Isn't that what generally makes a new game? i don't see too much in the same as oblivion, only the same as in matching up to the actual elder scrolls world?
