All games are expensive For a preorder at under $110 Skyrim is a steal, the best example ever is the fact that MW2 is still $100 second-hand here Mind you it's $89 on steam, and I assume that's the same price you're getting, and I also assume it's that EB Games special edition with the artbook and stuff (it's the collector's ed sans dragon basically) that he got, so good deal Even $100 isn't that much to pay for a good game when you consider it, I'm unemployed and I get over it pretty quick. If I actually had a job I'd be able to buy the games I want all willy-nilly. But then our minimum wage is higher than yours :smug:
May be me, but cant you try to get a friend in europe or something who you pay 60€ to gift you the game? as in he keeps 10 and he buys you the game for 50€
I'm sorry, and ima' let you finish; but Daedric was the best fictional Elder Scrolls language of all time.
Wait shit, there is logic to those things? God dammit, I thought it was some kinda thing about all the shapes of oblivion gates or something.
Throwing axes seem a bit silly but there seems to be a correlation between impracticality and badassery when it comes to medieval stuff.
I remember seeing a documentary on TV about viking weaponry. According to the show the vikings apparently threw axes which looked a bit like that axe posted earlier, and there was a reason to that shape; the axe would fly over shields, hitting the enemy in the head. If the axe missed, it didn't matter because the power of the throw would make the axe get stuck in wooden shields, making them obsolete to use. This would leave the enemy with no other option than to drop it and fight without a shield, making him a lot more vulnerable. My friend has the whole alphabet on the internet with the normal alphabet under it. Will look it up http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Dragon_Language Also usable

Grammar The language has basically the same grammar as English, with the exceptions that it doesn't have an equivalent to English's apostrophes, it tends to place prepositional phrases earlier in sentences than English does, it doesn't have tense,[4] and there is no distinction between singular and plural.
I can't believe they actually put the extra effort to make grammar for the language. I've heard the person who made it made a lot of other languages/alphabets in other video games.
Mu lost tiid wa draal fah dovahkiin!
They were too lazy to invent own aplhabets, since they're using common latin with custom letters. You can convert chinese/cyrillic alphabets to latin because they have different structure.
Technically Daedric isn't a language, its an alphabet. I'm going to assume Draconic is the same. A language implies a set of unique phrases to deliver a message, done in a certain pattern, dialect and structure. An alphabet just takes an existing language and changes the characters. AFAIK the only well known fantasy universe that has made an actual language is the language of the Elves in LOTR. Daedric isn't a language, its just the english language with a Daedric alphabet. Draconic appears to be the same, though if the wording is spoken and arranged in a way that isn't just a copy of english, then perhaps it could be considered its own language.
Huh, all this engine talk makes me wonder. Doesn't Bethesda hand-create all their animations instead of motion-capture? Would explain a lot.
Huh, all this engine talk makes me wonder. Doesn't Bethesda hand-create all their animations instead of motion-capture? Need to get Bethesda to hire a few Day of Defeat (Beta 1.2 era) Modders that did animating for the reload animations on custom weapons and whatnot, they were gods I still think motion captured animation mixed with Euphoria produces the greatest results, that are both realistic but at times have hilarious results that just make you laugh your ass off

I think Bethsada simply doesn't want to sacrifice the rest of the game's quality or work for that.
Can't work out or do that much else for 8 weeks due to an operation on my arm, at least I can play skyrim :)
I can deal with the animations, I just don't want a guy in full plate armor to fall to the ground as if he weighed 3 pounds. Though most of my complaints are, and will be, modded and solved within a month or two
To be honest, I think their hand-done animations would have done a lot better if the game made people an actual physical object (think GTA4)

Oh well, at least this will be informative for those who don't know.
I hope I am not going to miss much getting the xbox version. Gfx card broke and I just spent all my money repairing my car.
I don't mind the animation at all, whats more important to me is the depth of the game and the environment
I don't mind the animation at all, whats more important to me is the depth of the game and the environment
I honestly always thought Bethesda games had decent animation.

If i was playing he PC version on my first run i would prob mod it and give me unlimited money but in the 360 version they patched all these glitches out In other words, if you PC cannot handle it just get the console version. Pretty much nothing. [editline]28th October 2011[/editline]
I honestly always thought Bethesda games had decent animation.
I don't know about decent, mediocre maybe. It sometimes end up in comedic fashion though.
They could just loan a studio and cameras, the costs aren't astronomically high.
I guess. But I suppose they're more interested in spending that money on their overall game. I know big games like GTA4 or RDR had motion-capture, but I don't know if they had the same amount of cheer content that Oblivion or say Skyrim does. [editline]28th October 2011[/editline]
I don't know about decent, mediocre maybe. It sometimes end up in comedic fashion though.
Whats so bad about their animations? Most of them always seemed fine to me :v:
Just figured out I can run it on full most likely, now if only I had the money to buy it... This is one game I really do not wish to pirate.

1 week, 6 days and 17 hours left! Shit, I don't think I've ever wanted a game more.
The Concept Diaries says: **Article Headline** **COPY** [editline]28th October 2011[/editline] Nevermind works now

Holy shit, that concept art. I'll make a theme with all of them as wallpapers on rotation.
I just had a thought, everyone is complaining about the retards doing commentary on some of the preview videos, but perhaps it's better that we have people who don't know that much about it doing these things, because if they're impressed by something that we already know about, like weather or the magic system and we don't know how it's going to work, then we know it's going to be good if it leaves a good impression on people like that. That's why it's good to have stupid people at meetings, because they might ask things that no one else has really thought about because they think it is obvious.
Are they bringing back Dwemer stuff?
