The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim V5: But there is one they fear - Dragon porn!

Usually I do my DB/Thieves Guild playthrough on my third playthrough... and with that one it's hella fun to make a character devoted to complete treachery.
That'll be when I put the economy system to the test...

Who cares about spears, you have swords, axes, staffs, dragon shouts, bows, and magic.

I'd like some variety. They should have learned after countless oblivion mods that people LOVE variety.
Who cares what seano12 says?
This is still Skyrim and it's less than 2 weeks away! Let the man bitch in peace and lets talk about Lusty Argonian Beards.
Oh no I'm not bitching, I'm pointing things out. I'm still going to buy the game.

If you MUST have spears and crossbows, I'd recommend playing some Mount&Blade. Less story, graphics, more killing. Oh, so much more killing...

This is a little beyond spears and crossbows. Look at the big mods for oblivion. I think the big one was the one that combined OOO with other mods? I loved that compilation, there were tons of weapons, there were mauls and parry staves and parry swords.
I feel as if Bethesda at some point realized they didn't have to do as much work because modders can just do the work for them, and that console players would see these mods and buy the console version.

I remember that. One of the mods that added more types of fish scared the shit out of me because they were all hostile and one time a fucking shark jumped on land and started flopping around at the speed of a tiny slaughterfish. So. Fucking. Creepy.
About the Bethesda part: Nah, they just over-simplified a few bits and pieces and it all added up. I'm hoping they learned some valuable lessons from their time with Fallout and the feedback given from Oblivion.
I'm also going to leave this link here for any people wanting to try playing Morrowind or Oblivion one last time over before Skyrim sucks you in for eternity.
It's a good guide on modding Morrowind to get it look like a modern game and a similar guide for Oblivion is just a click away.
Well that's a bit childish. I'm in this thread to discuss the game.
there's a difference between discussing and being confrontational
if anyone knows anything about being confrontational it's me hah

Maximum Neckbeard.
Guys we have to start talking down this game.
Right now our hype level is at a 12 (1-10)
Skyrim is going to be a 10 (1-10)
We need to bring out hype down to about the 8.5 or 9 level (1-10) so that when we play we don't become massively disappointed.

-Combat is weightless
-Archery is still under powered.

Actually in the leaked quakecon demo the archer-bandit glided across the ground... thats one reason why they edited it out of the official walkthrough

Whelp, there goes the idea of me going as a Sword and Bow specialist.
I thought they improved Archery in Skyrim?
At least compared to Oblivion. Where being shot in the eyeball with an arrow results it "WAAH" and a stagger.

I thought it had more weight to it?
Argonians don't have beards... they're reptiles
Well then why do Argonians have breasts, isn't that a Mammal thing?
I like to see Archery as a skill where the first shot counts the most. Hitting a far off enemy with a poison arrow from an enchanted bow does a huge amount of damage for me, especially when I make the poison myself with a sky(rim)-high alchemy skill. You're not supposed to be able to take down enemies from afar with just 3 regular arrow shots. There's no difficulty. If you are outnumbered and enemies are closing in fast, switch to melee or magic while possibly retreating to a better position.

I played the demo at PAX and I tried out running diagonally. It felt pretty decent.

I walk diagonally all day man, and for reason related to physical work. Sometimes going diagonal is the best option for me.
