How is this small and restricting to you
[thumb]http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2011/10/skyrimmap.jpg[/thumb]
i can help say why it seems small...
in oblivion theres a large map bit you can get around it fairly quickly (due to guitchy movement on near vertical cliffs)
in skyrim the map looks small but takes a while to get around, in the eurogamer demo it took almost the whole time (about 20 mins) to get across what looks like a very short distance (this includes random combat, interactions and some cookery)
overall the area might be slightly smaller but it should still take many hours just to see the entire overworld
I just realized, (I couldn't help myself) [sp] I believe the Dragon that attacks the Imperial camp is Alduin himself, as he looks a lot like the concept art and seems unique to other dragons..is he really gonna be that small?[/sp]
Is it just me, or does this game seem very game of thronesy? I'm not complaining or anything, I love game of thrones.
Speaking of dragons, I love the sound effects for when the dragons breath fire.
Same, sounds pretty scary.

Influences from A Song of Fire and Ice are definitely there, along with Conan and other Norse inspirations.
Also, the videos have been removed.
I can imagine walking around a Nord ruin on top of a mountain, then hearing FLOPFLOPFLOP, a loud crash and that shrieking sound as you get fried.
I noticed it was the same shriek as the one in the live action trailer, which I thought was pretty cool.
Im going to make an old magic guy that looks awesome.
I'm leaning towards a battlemage style class for my first playthrough. When I played at pax magic and a weapon together felt really great.
I'm going to be a stealth-bitch first playthrough, I always like stealth-bitch characters

That's what I went with in Oblivion so I might do the same in Skyrim or make a more stealth related character.
First playthrough: Spellsword
Second playthrough: Thief
Third playthrough: Warrior
We shouldn't really call these dragons true dragons as they are servants of big bad *4242.
Sure they are dragons but they are to normal dragons as humanoid demons are to humans
First playthrough: Assassin (Bows, daggers, sneak, alchemy)
Wow, Zenimax were fast, Just went to Pete hines' twitter to see that they are apparently clamping down on people posting spoilers about Skyrim, went to the spoiler videos and they have already taken them down.
First play: Manly Nord with big axe
Second play: Manly Nord with big staff
Third play: Manly nord with big bow

You just made me realize something. [sp] The dragon that appears in the leaked video must be a Jill as they are known as the black dragons and it doesn't look exactly like Alduin since he hasn't particularly returned..yet. So that was a Jill using full on dragon shouts to destroy everything [/sp]
The Dragons that serve Alduin are known as Jills and are supposedly Black Dragons, and no, not the brownish ones that we first saw. Those and the other shaded Dragons are just..dragons. At least that's my theory and it would make sense as not EVERY Dragon is serving Alduin (doubt of it anyway).

Beth stated there will be friendly dragons anyway.
What about that video with the dancing dogs at a barmitzvah? What happened to that?
What about that video with the dancing dogs at a barmitzvah? What happened to that?
They've been taken down
Wait it really does? Do you need to eat it the same morning or day before? Before sleep or what?
I don't know really. Theres something in toothpaste that your body doesnt like it and starts to get rid of it by giving you fever if you swallow the paste. I've never tried it but I think it works. Don't eat to much though, you can get very sick from it.

I guess that's kind of good, I don't want some asshole spoiling the ending for me or anything like that.
A little late again but, I'm going with a Nord Barbarian with leather armor, and double swords, axes or maces. :v:

You know you don't HAVE to watch the videos...
They've been taken down
That means I have successfully resisted to watch them. Now my fight is over.
Hey, did you see any dynamic snow while playing? Did you see snow at all?
8888th post goes to dynamic snow.
I only had 15 minutes but I did see some snow near the end while I was entering a cave with a necromancer in it. Couldn't really tell how dynamic it was.
From what I saw in that footage:
-It looks a lot like Oblivion:
-Static NPCs standing around stiff as a board
-Animations that look more modern, but are noticably still very Oblivion
-Combat system looks like it's about attrition again, although to a lesser extent than in Oblivion
+Although the choreographing in at the start during the execution scene was pretty damn poor, the parts right after that were a definite improvement over Oblivion, which means there's hope for the rest of the game being interesting to experience.
+The environments look much better this time around, the shadows really make a big difference and the non-uniform appearance of everything stops it from looking generic and boring like in Oblivion. The streams look cool.
+The combat may still be poor, but at least the enemies die quicker this time around, I don't like kill animations that lock you into an execution but I'd rather that than having to click 50 more times to bring down an enemy.
+The enemies have a bit more variety to how you encounter them, the two soldiers grabbing what they can in the keep for example, or the spiders rappelling down from the ceiling using their webs, also more attacks rather than just melee.
+The voice acting seems to be a lot better, hard to make a concrete judgment because the start is where Beth poured all of their voice acting budget into in Oblivion, but nothing screams, "This is the best and you're gonna hate the rest".
Having played through Dark Souls and then Demon's Souls just recently, I can't help but feel that what I've seen of the combat so far is very lazy, it seems like the best compromise between locking down your movement and ability to attack and letting a dice roll do the deciding, and having a floaty system where your stats don't matter and you can never die, is having a system where your movement is more human and your stats decide what method of fighting you choose out of necessity, where combat is more about parrying, blocking and never getting hit than it is about soaking up damage.
Looking at the video it seems like blocking uses up your stamina, but attacking doesn't (I may be wrong with this but his stamina bar wasn't going down when he was swinging), but looking at the penalty for not blocking, a measly chip off of your health, just seems pointless to do anything other than rush in and hammer M1. I know it's a tutorial section, and I know it's a much more forgiving game than DS, but it worries me.
I intend to play a Stealth/Utility Mage/Archer. I dunno what race I will go, Khajit would be the kind of race I would go if the bonuses each race got were significant and relevant to their anatomy, (Khajits being agile, stealthy and good movers), but since it's largely cosmetic I find myself being drawn to being an Orc, I love their fucking huge teef.
You know you don't HAVE to watch the videos...
Yeah but it's a pain when they just say "skyrim gameplay" and then show the ending
The stuff by cave entrances is non-dynamic.
I think the "dynamic" snow is probably a texture swap system on the rock models, trees and ground, like when it starts snowing the ground textures will change to something that is.. well, snowy.
So I just beat Oblivion last night, 30Hours of playtime including my occasional sidequest, level 6, What should I do now? (Mods arent an option, mind you, I have a console version.)
Remember is was on the console that gameplay
He did make the Combat look boring
