my god what happened
I think regenerating health would kind of make health spells and potions a bit redundant.
Yep, that's why you buy potions or pick restoration, what will be the point of it if you're fucking wolverine ? makes a good portion of the game useless.
And it's nice like that because you really gotta take care of your health, now you can just run around killing everything without needing to repair or heal yourself.
I love regenerating health in most FPS games because finding healthkits and shit is just a pain in the ass, specially with todays types of games. But i think this was the wrong way to go with Skyrim, altho i guess it helps people that don't want anything to do with magical powers. In oblivion i always felt like i had to use my healing spell otherwise id get ass raped, even tho i wanted my character to be a total warrior with no harry potter shit involved
I would like for people to bare in mind that any player (except a beta tester or Bethesda employee) will not be used to the combat in Skyrim and so won't be fighting as naturally as possible.
It's not a texture bug. Those are the textures, there aren't better textures loading in
Sometimes when I play NV, LOD textures don't get overwritten by the better ones when you go toward them, and since it's basically on the same engine renderwise...
I think the dragon shouts are ok, but giving the player quickly regenerating health and nobody else would be a step in the wrong direction IMO. Hopefully it's a feature that scales with difficulty, or hopefully it just applies to both players and npcs.
At least the dragon powers are explained, but if you just regenerate health for seemingly no reason while everybody else doesn't... pretty lame.
just more casual bullshit for idiots who can't look at their health bar.
Health, literally the simplest video game concept. If you can't look at your health bar and press A or tab to go into your inventory then just uninstall the game.

It's not 'quickly regenerating', Todd's stated that before. It'll do it very, very slowly.

Regeneration is very very slow, it's not as though you get hit and then are instantly healed. It's so that if you're out of a fight and are out of potions you can wait for your health to go up rather than leaving to find more potions. (I.e it's like resting in Oblivion.)
the entire last 100 or so pages in a nutshell:
"THAT WALL IS NOT HIGH RESOLUTION ENOUGH, CANCELLING PRE ORDER, ENJOY UR SHIT GAME"
I love the intro music.

That's not how it works. Stop being wrong :arghfist:
New Vegas, oblivion etc had a two stage LOD system. there was a high detail and a low detail model for each static object.. this is why the LOD system sucked. Creation has a texture streaming ability like UE3, and likely has more than two LOD stages for most models.
So either: A) textures hadn't streamed in completely or B) the texture for that fort models just sucks.

Holy shit, what is this?
Forged in God's very flames.
Do mine eyes tell me lies,
A new Elder Scrolls Game?
Time is nigh, I must fly,
Venture forth on my quest.
Goodbye Ma, goodbye Pa
And goodbye Girlfriend's breasts.
I'll be off Azeroth, catch you later Hyrule.
I'll be gone Albion, I'm no longer your fool.
Other crap filled the gap
While I waited to begin...
The adventure of my life
in the land of Skyrim!
People in this thread who harshly criticize Bethesda and their recent games are actually pretty much like the fat basement dwellers having ultra-high standards on the internet when talking about girls.
There is no point trying to reason them at all, since they'll just end up buying the game anyway.
And then they'll bitch about the elbows being too pointy.
just pre-ordered from EB games, friends going to give me a discount when i pick it up.

Its strange that you say that, because in watching the leaked gameplay footage of something that is quite likely the final product, the health regeneration appears to happen really fast, hell in the combat with the spiders you can see it climbing up during the fight.
Hopefully they just beefed up health regeneration for the tutorial section.. maybe it'll slow down when you leave.

He could have used a potion, theres probably a hotkey on the console version.

Hell, if it's quick for everything then who cares?
Anyway, didn't Trolls have regenerating health in Oblivion? At least, it was either trolls or ogres..
He could have used a potion, theres probably a hotkey on the console version.
Considering he didn't know how to fire a bow properly after four failures, part of me doubts that.

I'm hoping that's the case, I really don't approve of the regeneration at all. Going to re-watch the video and see if he actually hotkeys the potion. I know for sure while you're on the surface running away from the dragon that the health regenerates from when he gets hit by the flame.
Yep, health regenerates. Again, hoping its a tutorial only thing. You also have to take into account that at level 1 you have the lowest amount of HP. While at level 15 , for example, health regeneration would be pretty insignificant to you being as slow as it is.
